Trabalhamos com dois destes casos pela perspectiva disposicional em trajetorias biograficas, enfatizando configuracoes familiares e escolarizacao. Recorremos aos debates sobre a relacao familia-escola como explicacao do sucesso/fracasso escolar, e os dados resultantes sao instigantes pela tensao entre as condicoes de possibilidade de classe e a dimensao etnico-racial. Utilizamos um questionario socioeconomico e cultural e, na etapa principal, entrevistas em profundidade. As configuracoes que possibilitaram a producao, potencializacao e/ou transferencia de disposicoes de longevidade foram: apoio familiar; reconhecimento da educacao como meio de mobilidade social; significados praticos e positivos com a escola; afetividades; atividades culturais, cientificas e esportivas intra/extraescolares; ensino medio profissionalizante de tempo integral; e organizacoes domesticas que orbitam a educacao e a escola. ABSTRACT We investigated on an individual scale the school longevity of seven black students of the University of Afro-Brazilian Lusophony, self-declared black students, brown or indigenous and from public schools (Law no. 12.711/2012). We worked with 2 of these cases through the dispositional perspective in biographical trajectories, emphasizing family and schooling configurations. We resort to debates about the family-school relationship as an explanation of school success / failure, and the resulting data is thought provoking by the tension between the conditions of class possibility and the ethnic-racial dimension. We used a socioeconomic and cultural questionnaire and, then, we worked with in-depth interviews. Entre as cinco hipoteses apresentadas pela Sociologia e pela Economia para responder a essa questao, a explicacao pela desigualdade de renda ja foi testada, apenas para os Estados Unidos, pelas sociologas americanas Milkman, Reese e Roth (1998). De acordo com elas, um fator determinante do tamanho do emprego domestico em certo lugar e o grau de desigualdade economica ali existente. Este artigo objetiva verificar essa mesma hipotese, mas para um conjunto de 95 paises de diversas partes do mundo. Por meio de um modelo de regressao, utilizando o metodo de Minimos Quadrados Ordinarios (MQO), e avaliada a relacao entre o indice de Gini dos paises e a proporcao de mulheres ocupadas como trabalhadoras domesticas. ABSTRACT In the bibliography on paid domestic work, one question remains open: what explains variation in the proportion of the labor force employed in domestic service in each country? Among the five hypotheses presented by Sociology and Economics to answer this question, the explanation focused on income inequality has already been tested, only for the United States, by the American sociologists Milkman, Reese and Roth (1998). According to them, a crucial determinant of the extent of employment in paid domestic labor in a given location is the degree of economic inequality there. This article aims to verify the same hypothesis, but for a group of 95 countries from different parts of the world. Leal","doi":"10.18764/2236-9473.V18N1P155-174","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18764/2236-9473.V18N1P155-174","url":null,"abstract":"Este artigo esta focado nos diversos modos de articulacao entre o Tambor de Mina – a religiao afro-brasileira prevalecente entre a populacao afrodescendente de Sao Luis (a capital do estado do Maranhao) –, e as festas do Espirito Santo – uma festa catolica que e a mais importante celebracao publica nas casas de culto de Tambor de Mina. A minha enfase e nos processos criativos associados a esses diversos modos de articulacao. Argumento que esses processos estao ligados, por um lado, as politicas mais amplas de gestao das fronteiras entre generos religiosos que cada casa de culto adota e, por outro lado, a diferentes politicas de exibicao e contencao centradas na (in)visibilidade do Tambor de Mina no espaco publico. O artigo e uma contribuicao tanto para os debates antropologicos sobre criatividade como para as discussoes sobre processos de interface entre diferentes generos religiosos nas religioes afro-brasileiras. ABSTRACT This paper is focused on the diverse modes of articulation between Tambor de Mina – the African-Brazilian religion prevalent among the Afro-descendent population of Sao Luis (the state capital of Maranhao, Brazil) – and Holy Ghost feasts – a Catholic feast that is the most important public celebration in Tambor de Mina cult houses. My emphasis is on the creative processes associated with these diverse modes of articulation. I argue that these processes are connected, on the one hand, to the wider politics of management of the boundaries between religious genres that each cult house adopts and, on the other hand, to different politics of display and containment centred on the (in)visibility of Tambor de Mina in the public space. O corpus analitico proveio de suas declaracoes veiculadas na midia, e a nossa analise desconsiderou o alter-ego privado, Benedicta Finazza. Apos levantar percepcoes da propria “estrela”, que se considerava catolica, e de terceiros, que a consideravam umbandista, revisamos bibliograficamente essas religiosidades e nos detivemos sobre as declaracoes dadas. O resultado encontrado foi a interveniencia de muitos sistemas simbolicos em sua pratica catolica. Isso significa que esse e um caso da publicizacao de uma religiosidade afro em plenos anos 1990, epoca em que ainda nao havia acoes afirmativas voltadas para incentivar a variedade religiosa. Acreditamos que isso ocorreu porque as adivinhacoes de Mae Dinah, revestidas de linguagem catolica, preenchiam um nicho de ansiedade temporal causada pela concepcao linear de tempo crista. ABSTRACT We intend to investigate in this space the religiosity of a public figure - “star” from the perspective of Edgar Morin - Mae Dinah through the lens of religious traffic. The analytical corpus came from his statements in the media, so our analysis disregarded the private alter-ego, Benedicta Finazza. After raising perceptions of the “star” itself - who considered herself Catholic - and third parties - who considered her Umbanda - we bibliographically reviewed these religiosities and paused on the statements given. The result was that many symbolic systems intervened in their Catholic practice. This means that this is a case of publicizing Afro religiosity in the mid-1990s, a time when there were still no affirmative actions aimed at encouraging religious variety. Tem como inspiracao teorica o uso de conceitos e insights da sociologia economica. A metodologia e constituida por visitas as agencias de casamento, entrevistas com os proprietarios e com os consumidores desse mercado. Os resultados alcancados indicam que esse mercado tem se reinventado diante dos aplicativos e reproduz determinado senso comum existente sobre o amor (especialmente a ideia de amor romântico), assim como as mesmas desigualdades e hierarquias existentes no social. ABSTRACT The objective of the research is to map the affection market via marriage agencies, considering the arrival of applications for affection. Its theoretical inspiration is the use of concepts and insights from economic sociology. The methodology consists of visits to wedding agencies, interviews with the owners and consumers in that market.
