In this contribution we first present an overview of main approaches currently used in sentiment analysis. We further focus on feature selection methods for sentiment analysis and propose a new approach to feature selection. Our approach has been experimentally evaluated on movie review dataset. The results show that the proposed method is computationally efficient and in exchange sacrifices only a small amount of accuracy.","PeriodicalId":414812,"journal":{"name":"2011 15th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Engineering Systems","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125081642","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The configuration of the project management information system should be adapted to needs and requirements of a particular project. However, project managers are not always aware of the most appropriate configuration. Adequate knowledge would help the project managers during definition of the configuration requirements. Therefore, an approach for the project management knowledge reuse during configuration of the project management information system is elaborated. This paper presents the case study of application of knowledge reuse in configuration of project change management module. The case study discusses both knowledge acquisition and knowledge utilization processes.","PeriodicalId":414812,"journal":{"name":"2011 15th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Engineering Systems","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129979937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Programming by demonstration is much less researched when it comes to industrial robots. One of the reasons is that an industrial robot has to act in a precise and certain manner. However, extending research regarding programming by demonstration to the field of industrial robots could lead to the creation of intelligent systems where the industrial robot could be programmed in an easier way. The goal of our research is to develop an intelligent system useful for industrial robot programming by demonstration. The reasoning algorithms are the mechanisms which offer flexibility to the proposed system. We have focused our research on the creation of a reasoning algorithm based on artificial neural networks [1, 2]. Because the results of this algorithm were not satisfying we have switched our focus to the development of a reasoning algorithm based on reinforcement learning [3]. The algorithm is based on the idea that marks can be assigned to each possible action whenever the robot is in an unknown state. The exploration of less-used actions plays also an important role in the case the robot must to take a decision. Based on the marks and on the exploration feature of the algorithm the robot updates its behaviour. This paper presents a description and some studies on less-used actions exploration problem of the algorithm. Some chapters of the paper will deal with the problems implementing the algorithm, the conducted experiments in terms of exploration feature of the algorithm and the results obtained. The analysis of the results and the characteristics of the algorithm in terms of less-used actions exploration are also discussed in this paper.","PeriodicalId":414812,"journal":{"name":"2011 15th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Engineering Systems","volume":"319 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122737498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, it is asynchronous: Because the readiness of data dictates the instruction execution. Second, it is self-scheduling: The data flow graph representation of a program eliminates the need to explicitly manage parallel execution. We consider a system architecture that separates the machine from the environment in which it is deployed, and address this architecture within the Petri net framework. We consider that the basic functioning of many machines can be captured in a Petri net model, while the environment where the machine is deployed is often complex and difficult to model within Petri net. We handle the environment influence on the choice of operations by the so-called external agents, and propose a way to model their respective goals. We support our work with theoretical analyses model, and also a simple graphical model building language. We then illustrate the method using a case study inspired from the well drilling industry.","PeriodicalId":414812,"journal":{"name":"2011 15th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Engineering Systems","volume":"315 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132025058","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our days' cars include tens or even hundreds of microcontrollers. One of the main blocks in a car is the traction system. Its performance is strongly determined by the adherence of the tires and how are they commanded. A too strong command may lead to dissipated power while a too slight one may lead to a slow run of the car. The solution consists in the launch control systems. Their analysis may constitute a non-invasive diagnosis method. The paper presents a new tool (NEONAT) that allows digital processing of the vocal signal representing the cry, visualizing the frequency spectrum and several values of interest as well as managing the data regarding mothers and babies. A protocol for performing recordings is proposed. The application has a facility to export data in ARFF format to be processed by the algorithms supplied by the data mining tool WEKA. Testing the data mining opportunities was made building a sex classifier based on the information extracted from the cry. Its performances have been good, and based on that, a process for the detection of neurologic suffering was suggested. The application runs in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinique in the Emergency County Hospital from Timisoara.","PeriodicalId":414812,"journal":{"name":"2011 15th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Engineering Systems","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133717284","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Soft computing, in particular fuzzy and neural network based models are serious candidates for usage in such systems, however their high complexity, and in some cases unknown accuracy, can limit their applicability. In this paper, special neural network structures are introduced which (1) complexity can adaptively be chosen according to the temporal situation (resource, time, and data availability), (2) the accuracy is always known, and (3) monotonously decreases parallel with the increase of the complexity of the used model/algorithm.","PeriodicalId":414812,"journal":{"name":"2011 15th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Engineering Systems","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116281633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
