An experimental set-up designed for this purpose was utilized for capturing the signals produced in the cavitation field by ultrasound when the studied liquid was diesel. The signal was characterized by statistical methods and two alternative models (ARMA(3,1) and Wavelet-ARIMA) have been proposed for it. It is shown that the second one better describes the collected data.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127121096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper aims to highlight the fact that various flat representations of a system can have different implications in the trajectory generation and tracking objectives. In particular, we consider a fixed-wing UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) and analyze various flat representations. We reformulate the trajectory generation and tracking problem in terms of different flat outputs and analyze the optimal cost, constraints satisfaction, tracking error and computational complexity. Insights on the future work complete the analysis. The research shows promising directions, especially in the area of disturbance rejection and robust control.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"329 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115974707","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The controller has been obtained on the base of a nonlinear dynamic output feedback. To compensate the lack of joint velocities measurements, a simple first-order nonlinear filter based on the bounded function of position tracking errors is proposed. On the base of the Lyapunov function method it is shown that a desired trajectory is semi-globally attractive and uniformly asymptotically stable in a cylindrical phase space. The feedback control gains are selected by using simple algebraic inequalities. The proposed controller is implemented for a three-link robotic manipulator, and the results show that our control scheme requires simple computation procedures.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123772981","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the skin lesions are analyzed using a feedforward neural network (FFN) with Levenberg-Marquardt Backpropagation (LMBP) training algorithm as a supervised learning method. The proposed model uses four combinations of inputs built on the data from type of skin lesion/database/method of asymmetry computation and searches for four combination of desired outputs such as the type of skin lesion/database/ method of asymmetry computation. Also, the number of hidden neurons has been changed to reach the condition of maximum regression coefficient (R) and minimum mean squared error (MSE). The proposed FFN-LMBP model was validated with 24 images and tested with another 24 images. This study is centered on the most relevant and widely used feature in dermoscopic images, i.e., asymmetry. Two algorithms are implemented to extract handcraft asymmetry values: one algorithm computes the asymmetry of the geometric characteristics (GAF) using the geometric shape of the lesions, and the second one computes the asymmetry based on histogram projections (AHP) on the horizontal and vertical axes. The MED-NODE and PH2 databases are used for skin lesion detection.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123781599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A prototype device measures non-invasively the bioimpedance by placing 3M patch electrodes in the hand palm of the patient. From the time signals acquired, a time-frequency algorithm is applied to extract the spectrogram 3D graphical model every second, during 4-6 hours. The aim was to detect whether artificial intelligence (AI) tools may offer a possible solution to obtain prediction of increasing pain levels in an objective way as to avoid the subjectivity of self-evaluation (currently golden standard in practice). The results obtained indicate a 73% accuracy with 86% successful detection of pain correlation to self-reported pain level. Specific training procedures have shown they are able to predict changes in pain levels which could be subsequently used in control algorithms, especially those prediction-based, which could greatly benefit from such complementary information. The discussion in this paper also puts the use of AI tools within the context of depth of anesthesia regulation, as AI tools greatly aid to minimize uncertainty in the loop dynamics.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134577437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The structure of the CAS consists of 2DW/1FW wheeled mobile robot (WMR) equipped with a 7-DOF robotic manipulator (RM). Sliding mode control (TTSMC) is used to control WMR. On the end effector of the RM, a mobile (eye in hand) visual servoing system (VSS) is mounted, used for precise positioning of RMs - to catch and release the workpiece. If the workpiece does not pass the quality test, the process handles it by transporting back from the storage unit to the flexible cell (FC) where it will be considered for reprocessing - repair or disassembling with recovery of replacement parts. The recovered or replaced components are taken over by the CAS from disassembling location and transported to the appropriate storage depots, to be reused in the further assembly processes. The mathematical model of the bioprocess consists of a set of nonlinear differential equations. This type of systems is difficult to control because they are strongly nonlinear, with time-varying parameters and very sensitive to small changes in initial conditions. The paper presents a control strategy based on an actor-critic structure from the reinforcement learning approach that is a combination of optimal control (based on state feedback) and adaptive control. The adaptive part of the controller is a neural network used for value function approximation. The performance of the algorithm is analyzed using numerical simulations.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133834452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These processes are preserved at very high conversion rates, in a safe environment, in order to attain optimal productivity. The aim of our work addresses the stability of the stationary operating regime for this type of process, represented by the Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor CSTR, the heart of many chemical and petrochemical installation. Starting by developing the mathematical model, the geometrical conditions of stability for non-isothermal CSTR are evaluated. These conditions offer stable operating requirements for the CSTR, obtained for small variations around a stationary point. Further, for the linearized mathematical model, the stability of CSTR is confirmed using the Lyapunov stability analysis, and the stability region is estimated. In the end, an optimal control system is proposed and this solution is proven to ensure the wanted performances for the exothermal reactor. Also, the efficiency of the theoretical approach is confirmed by numerical study cases and simulations.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116843524","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In urban environments, path planning for parking maneuvers is a relevant feature. There is a good amount of research on this topic considering passenger cars. However, there are some gaps considering automated buses. This work proposes a path planning approach for parking an automated bus that targets the fewer possible trajectories to complete the parking maneuver. The algorithm considers the vehicle geometry, its kinematics, and the blockage or availability of the surrounding parking spaces, to create a set of trajectories to complete the parking maneuver. The approach was tested in simulation environments considering an electric Gulliver minibus in the framework of the European project SHOW.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120938047","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
