The particularities of this type of minimally invasive surgery are detailed with emphasis on the use of the medical instruments which are the tools that interact directly with the patient body. A conceptual architecture for the active instruments and their manipulation strategy is defined aiming to increase their dexterity and workspace in confined spaces. The architecture of the system, with emphasis on the control solution is presented as a three levels structure. The control architecture respects the “zero autonomy” principle imposed by the latest standards in surgical robotics, to ensure the safety of the patient, with respect to any automatic decision a device might act upon.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127291233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These disturbances affect the reading of onboard sensors and can cause the robot to become unstable or create conditions that make the task at hand an unpredictable one. To mitigate this effect, this work aims to model and validate the electromagnetic interference field around a power line to enable prediction. In this approach, the electromagnetic field of the Power Transmission Line (PTL) is considered as a function of its position, electric current and tower topology. With the prediction, it is possible to correct the disturbances measured by the sensors, which facilitates the work of robotic systems at a short distance from electromagnetic sources. To prove the model effectiveness, theoretical and practical results are demonstrated in the study of PTLs.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125263138","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim is to define times and modalities of reduction of the individual limitations compatibly with a cost associated to the epidemic effects on the population healthy, to the social and economic consequences of the containment measures and to the vaccination campaign. A mathematical model, obtained adapting and improving a previously proposed and validated one, is introduced to this control design aim. However depending on the frequency content of external disturbance, some dynamic sub-models might be more active; these dynamic sub-models can be identified by calculating the cost-to-go to return to the origin. These cost-to-go to return to the origin for each dynamic sub-model was calculated by solving Lyapunov equation. Then comparing these cost-to-go to return to the origin, a novel switching rule was designed to switch to the dynamic sub-model with the highest cost-to-go to return to the origin. This particular dynamic sub-model was regulated by the associated modal controller. Thus it has been shown that dynamic sub-model with the highest cost-to-go to return to the origin at any time can be controlled instead of controlling all modes of motion of the structural system and the consequence of this switching control concept is minor from the controller perspective.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115506592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such devices greatly rely on image processing techniques to distinguish essential features from the input images. The ground surface represents one key element that needs to be detected. The user can move freely on the ground surface but also obstacles are usually located on this surface. As assistive devices need to provide information in real time, any designed algorithm must achieve real time results. In this paper, we present a novel algorithm to detect the ground plane in video sequences. The sequences are acquired by a stereo camera worn by a visually impaired user. Our algorithm uses a V-disparity map approach and it is tailored for the challenges that arise from the fact that the stereo camera has six degrees-of-freedom. We evaluate the accuracy of our algorithm using multiple real life scenarios. An evaluation of the performances of the algorithm was also performed to prove its accuracy and speed. We also discuss a possible speed up of the proposed algorithm but at a minor cost of accuracy.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116407964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fulfilling this requirement is the goal of explainable AI (XAI) that proposes to produce explainable models that enable end-users to understand and trust the models. This research addresses the explainability of the recommendations. This paper presents an explainable recommender system for point of interest recommendations taking into account the context of the user. In our experiments we have used the STS (South Tyrol Suggests) dataset. The following major steps are part of our methodology: i) presenting the dataset, ii) using Restricted Boltzmann Machine based collaborative filtering recommendations, iii) using contextual information, and iv) extracting and presenting explanations for recommendations based on contextual information. The novelty that we propose in explainable recommender systems is a new explainable recommendation technique, which is quantitative and qualitative, providing both the list of top-n recommendations and the explanations of the recommendations based on context. The saturation is included in a convex hull and a saturation-dependent Lyapunov function is used to ensure stability of the closed-loop. The guaranteed domain of attraction is enlarged by an iterative algorithm using linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). In numerical examples, the new approach is compared to the state of the art methods. Therefore, quadratic and saturation-dependent Lyapunov functions are used. It is shown that the new approach leads to less conservative results in both cases. Even with quadratic Lyapunov functions, the new approach provides less conservative results than existing methods with saturation-dependent Lyapunov functions.","PeriodicalId":413433,"journal":{"name":"2021 25th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128370957","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, a robust stabilizing control scheme under system perturbations are the prerequisites for the power system networks. In this paper a fixed time robust control is proposed for the partial linearized power system network, which provides fixed time stabilization of state error variable using sliding mode-based state reliant exponent coefficient variable. First the power system single machine infinite bus dynamics are partially linearized using partial feedback linearization (PFL) procedure to second order dynamics for robust excitation control design. After that fixed time stabilization based robust control to single machine infinite bus system is applied. The stability of the proposed control scheme is analyzed based on rigorous Lyapunov criteria of stability.
