To cope with the international business environment, developing the agribusiness sector in Bangladesh is essential. This study aims to assess the current status, challenges, and future potential of crop-based agribusiness farms in the country. Cross-sectional data were collected from 60 participants using purposive sampling. Frequency distribution tables were generated, and descriptive statistics were employed for data presentation. The results of the study showed that 60% of respondents from crop-based agribusiness farms faced financial crises when starting their businesses. 40% of respondents stated that the lack of experience is the primary challenge for exporting agribusiness products to international markets. Price fluctuation was mentioned as a significant threat by 48.3% of respondents. Moreover, 83.3% of respondents stated that the existing training institutions are insufficient for entrepreneurship development in Bangladesh. Respondents also identified some other challenges, such as decreased revenues due to COVID-19, low adoption of advanced technologies, lack of high-quality products, and unfavorable government policies. Policymakers should prioritize incorporating frontier technologies, implementing favorable policies, maintaining price stability, facilitating bank loans, and establishing new training institutions to address existing drawbacks. Furthermore, researchers identified future research areas that offer opportunities to advance theoretical boundaries and gain further insights into the study of agribusiness sectors.","PeriodicalId":41247,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Management Cases","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136363052","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The human resources department must implement some green practices that improve sustainability if it is to maintain its strategic image in the eyes of its stakeholders. This study provides a quick explanation of the significant impact that these green HRM practices had on ecological sustainability performance. Its Green Hiring, Green Training and Engagement, and Green Performance Management and Compensation are self-determining variables. Despite the fact that it acts as a mediator between the independent and dependent variables, organizational citizenship conduct. A quantitative data collection method based on an online survey is used, taking into account the data of 120 participants to apply the SPSS test. Results from the vast majority of participants demonstrate that green performance management and compensation significantly affect an organization's commitment to corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability. Green Training and Engagement provide the reasonable results for the dependent and mediating variable, while Green Hiring has the least impact. This research will help the management of the Odisha healthcare industry make effective adjustments to its HR practices, and it will also be useful to other researchers and state politicians as they make decisions. Indeed, this research is important, but it also has a number of shortcomings, including a lack of mixed studies and research constraints brought on by the state of Odisha. These problems could reduce the validity of our analysis. This gap can be filled by future academics in their research articles.","PeriodicalId":41247,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Management Cases","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136363254","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, these properties also make it lethal for the environment and are an eco-disaster. This case discusses an initiative taken by a social enterprise and manufacturing company Ecoware, founded by Rhea Singhal, a pharmacologist by profession. Born in Mumbai and bought up in Dubai and London, her eco-friendly, biodegradable cutlery is an alternative to non-biodegradable single-use plastic cutlery, which, when discarded, ends up in sewage, landfills, fields and water bodies posing a threat to the environment. Moreover, Ecoware cutlery is also an alternative to commercial cutlery, which is made of plastic, has chemical or pesticide residue, binder additives, fillers, wax lining, plastic lining or coatings, or PFA (per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances), which is generally added to tableware and food packing to offer resistance to oil, grease and moisture. This Ecoware case examines the correlation between sustainability and marketing, with a particular emphasis on sustainability marketing. It delves into Ecoware’s marketing mix strategy and explores the obstacles the company has encountered regarding pricing, environmental awareness and the general lack of understanding regarding the detrimental effects of plastic cutlery.","PeriodicalId":41247,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Management Cases","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2023-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48569838","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

He returned to his hometown of Hyderabad after working for close to 4 years with Symbiosis International University, Pune. On one evening in December 2014, Professor Dani went shopping with his wife; while returning, he saw a catchy advertising billboard of Mumbo King Vada Pav in the Narayanguda area of Hyderabad. Being Maharashtrians, Mr and Mrs Dani wanted to test the taste of vada pav, which is extremely popular, especially in India’s financial capital, Mumbai, and adjoining regions. Their gastronomical experience was surprisingly pleasant; thus, on reaching home, the couple deliberated upon the viability of setting up a vada pav franchise outlet. Professor Dani thought he had identified a niche market that could be catered to; therefore, he set out to explore diverse vada pav franchises and finally shortlisted Mumbo King Vada Pav, of which he had a pleasant gastronomical experience a few weeks back. Shortly, Professor Dani began his venture-SMB Foods; however, hardly within a span of 15 months, he was in a dilemma on whether he should continue the business or close its operations.","PeriodicalId":41247,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Management Cases","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2023-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48612762","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One such issue was the mismatch between employee and organizational objectives. There was a need to reinforce the link between individual and corporate performance as the organization did not meet its expected revenue growth targets. Still, many people were awarded salary increments, bonuses and promotions. The CEO of Mobilink and the HR team agreed that there was a need for changes in the existing performance appraisal system to bring employee objectives in line with organizational goals. The team was given 48h to develop a new system. Eventually, the team developed a new evaluation system, which was presented to the senior management team. The discussion with top management revealed varying opinions regarding the proposed system. The senior management team highlighted potentially serious pitfalls in the proposed system. The HR team left the meeting thinking: should the proposed system be implemented now or later, and did it need further improvements before implementation? They had a deadline to meet.","PeriodicalId":41247,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Management Cases","volume":"20 1","pages":"112 - 127"},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2023-07-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48982007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
