The research methodology is based on the principles of historicism, impartiality, and reliability of the presented results, as well as on general scientific and special research methods, including analysis, synthesis, generalisation, descriptive, systematic, and biographical. According to the dominant in post-classical science paradigm of systematicity, they are integrated from different scientific directions, namely from art history, cultural studies, and history. Such an interdisciplinary methodology helped to reveal the main theme and value-meaning constants of the combat creativity by O. Kurylas in the ranks of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen. The scientific novelty of the research consists in the cultural-historical and art-historical analysis of O. Kurylas's combat work, which significantly expands the understanding of his work and determines the relevance of his artistic heritage for modern art in the direction of increasing interest in combat fine art. Conclusions. Osyp Kurilas and his fellow artists made an invaluable contribution to the development of fine art, in particular, to battle painting and the portrait genre. The battle legacy of O. Kurylas (graphics, painting) is not just works of fine art, but also invaluable historical and documentary material. Due to the realism, the combat work by O. Kurilas, like other Sich artists, can be called a kind of documentary recording of the events of the Liberation Struggle period, which in terms of truthfulness, scrupulousness, and accuracy of the images can be put on the same level as modern photography. The research methodology is based on the principles of historical, cultural, and interdisciplinary approaches, the use of general scientific methods, synthesis, and generalisation. A systematic approach was used for the analytical measurement of the components of the problem. In order to study the interconnected and interacting elements of the process of creating a musical image, the system-structural method was used. The method of generalisation was used to draw the conclusions of the study. The scientific novelty consists in the cultural dimension of the peculiarities of the musical image creation of the performance through the conceptualisation of the idea that the work of a theatre sound engineer is an integral part of artistic culture; it contributes to conveying this work to the viewer and immerses the audience in the specific environment of the performance. It also involves people in the active process of communication and creativity, which is an important component of the Ukrainian national socio-cultural continuum. Conclusions. The research methodology consists in the use of general scientific methods. Among general scientific methods, we apply analysis, synthesis, deduction, and induction. Separately, we single out the method of comparison, which made it possible to identify certain common and distinctive features in the interpretation of the Ukrainian Baroque problem. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that for the first time the main markers of the study of the Ukrainian baroque culture in modern European thought have been determined. Conclusions. The study of Ukrainian baroque in Romanian, French, and Polish European specialist literature shows that the western borders of the spread of its influences are considered to be the territory of Hungary and Slovakia, and in the south – Moldova and Romania. The work also defines the vision of the European researchers of the roots of the Ukrainian variety of this art trend, which is partially seen in Polish or Italian influences. The research methodology includes general scientific principles of systematisation and generalisation of the investigated problem, which allowed defining and scientifically substantiating the existing theories, conceptual approaches to understanding the meaning of the concept of \"trauma\". The purpose and tasks of the article determined the use of an axiological approach, which allowed revealing the interdisciplinary nature of the considered theories, to reveal personalised scientific positions. The use of the analytical method helped identify the conceptual foundations for further scientific perspectives of the understanding of trauma, traumatisation from the perspective of applied cultural knowledge. The scientific novelty consists in the study of theoretical concepts of the problematisation of trauma in the European scientific discourse of the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, outlined the cultural and historical context of research. Conclusions. The traumatic events experienced by Ukrainians differ in the scale and depth of the destruction of the social and cultural order of life and existence. The issue of practical identification and overcoming of injuries is relevant for the Ukrainian present and requires active scientific consideration. The meaningful filling of the theoretical problematisation of the trauma went through the path of interdisciplinary understanding and its entry into the scientific toolkit and its subject study. The study of a ballet production enable understanding the author's use of ballet music to create an atmosphere, express emotions, and convey the plot. The performative analysis helps study the interaction of ballet music with other elements of ballet. The scientific novelty is in substantiating the specifics of Ukrainian ballet as an original phenomenon of modern musical culture, the case study of \"Chasing Two Hares\" ballet by the composer Yurii Shevchenko and updating the meaning of the composer's work in the context of the latest conditions of functioning of the Ukrainian musical theatre. Conclusions. The actualisation of theoretical studies in the field of musical culture and art is determined by the demand for the study and explanation of their intensive development. The experience of creating various forms of ballet and theatre music manifests the specific characteristics of modern musical art in Ukraine. In this context, consideration of the specifics of Ukrainian ballet as an original phenomenon of modern musical culture, the case study of Yurii Shevchenko's ballet \"Chasing Two Hares\" is considered relevant. Researching the theatrical and musical works of Y. Shevchenko and his music for the \"Chasing Two Hares\" ballet, we justify that ballet music appears as an expression of a new theatrical language – the language of optimism and high moral qualities. {"title":"Syncretism of Church Burial and Ritual Music and Folklore Elements in Orthodox Tradition","authors":"O. The specifics of the development of folk beliefs, customs and church ritual, and burial music are investigated. It is indicated that Orthodox sacred music developed in interaction with centuries-old folk melos and became the basis for the development of church musical culture. The study aims to identify the relationship of burial ritual music and folklore elements in church chants of the Orthodox tradition, to outline the phenomenon of church burial and ritual music as a specific way of spiritual communication, catharsis, emotional and figurative assimilation, and reflection of personal worldview. The research methodology comprises the general scientific methods of analysis: historicism, systematisation, comparison, and generalisation of the problem under study. Scientific novelty of the research lies in clarifying the fixation and elaboration of the Orthodox taphological repertoire; in the study of the mutual influence of folk household and burial beliefs, customs and church ritual, and burial music of Orthodox Christians on the cultural identity of Ukrainians, their worldview, and national genotype. Conclusions. In the musical burial ritualism of Ukrainians, the symbiosis of customs, beliefs, and church rites is still clearly traced. All of them are aimed to convert an Orthodox Christian to a righteous, sinless life, to the hope of forgiveness and remission of sins, and to giving peace to the soul after death in anticipation of the Kingdom of Heaven, eternal life. They also intend to cleanse the living space from negative action, to ensure the successful transition of the soul of the deceased to the Kingdom of God, to protect living relatives and to unite the living and the dead from the family in Holy Communion (Eucharist). The Orthodox musical and aesthetic tradition states that the soul’s prayer of the deceased is strong and effective in God. Consequently, Christians have a firm belief that the souls of the dead pray for their living descendants of each kin, and the mission of the living is to pray for the eternal peace of their souls and the universal resurrection in the Kingdom of Heaven. If we are to achieve a fullness of synergistic communion with the Lord, we must not only rely on God's help, but also make our spiritual contribution through spiritual effort and compassionate strain, kenosis, self-sacrifice, and personal predestination to the Good. The phenomenon of church burial and ritual music appears as a specific way of spiritual communion, emotional and figurative mastering and reflection of the worldview of an Orthodox Christian, which gives rise to an ethno-national type of a person’s musical and aesthetic thinking, and cultural self-identification. The research methodology. An analytical method is used to collect theoretical material about the miniatures of the Mirovingian period (V–VII centuries), on the example of the Sacramentarium Gelasianum and Gellon Sacramentarium; the miniatures from the times of the Carolingian revival of the VIII-IX centuries, («Gospel of Godescalk», «Gospel of Ada», «Gospel from the monastery of St. Medard in Soissons»). A historical and cultural method is applied to analyse the role of the miniature in the socio-cultural life of Medieval Europe as one of the elements of ceremonial and ritual «entertainment». An art historical method that involves a detailed examination and description of a medieval book miniature, and a theoretical method are used to summarise the findings. The scientific novelty of the work is that for the first time the miniatures are considered as a pictorial interpretation of the text in the context of the development of the medieval culture, as a sensual form of knowledge of an ideal model, and one of the elements of the personification of ritualistic \"entertainment\" in the socio-cultural life of this historical period. Conclusions. The article examines the miniature as a visual interpretation of the text in the context of the development of the culture of the Middle Ages. It has been proven that since ancient times the miniature, on the example of the \"Ambrosian Iliad\", was the personification of ceremonial and ritual, and partly artistic \"entertainment\", which made it possible to outline the miniature as a pictorial component of this phenomenon, as well as a pictorial interpretation of the handwritten text which reflects the most current events of this historical era. The brightest examples of the miniatures in the early Christian tradition of Western Europe, which are presented in the Merovingian manuscripts of the V-VIII centuries, are considered using the example of the Sacramentarium Gelasianum and Gellon Sacramentarium. Graphic miniature decoration becomes not just a pictorial interpretation of the text, but turns into an element of worship. There are many images of birds, fish, animals, and plant ornaments, the emphasis is on red, yellow, and green. Great attention is paid to the decorative design of the capital letters of the sections, they become special symbolic signs that are even attributed with magical meaning. The miniature begins to act as a sensual form of knowledge of the ideal model, which is available to the chosen ones. The research methodology is based on the application of the dialectical method, which makes it possible to reveal the specifics of creating digital works of art in symbiosis with blockchain technologies. The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the clarification of the transformed functions of digital art under the influence of NFT: attention is paid to contemporary art, the study of digital trading platforms as a cultural phenomenon and the formation of a special space of communication between artists. The works of art that are created using NFTs are characterised, and a description of the new trend of modern crypto-art is given, which is digital art that is treated as physical art due to the ability to prove the ownership of the work. The possibilities and limitations of the development of the NFT market are indicated. Therefore, the NFT market can become the engine of modern art, as it creates a balance between art and technology. It has been determined that under the influence of modern technologies and NFT, culture is changing, including digital art as a direction in culture. The scientific novelty lies in the peculiarities of organising and conducting virtual galleries and auctions based on NFT technology in modern conditions. Conclusions. The rapid development of IT technologies in the modern world has led to a paradigm shift in traditional forms of organisation and conducting auction and gallery activities.
