For this purpose, as part of this study, factors such as sample size, average difficulty level difference between the test forms, difference between the ability distribution, missing data rate, and missing data mechanisms were manipulated. The effects of these factors on the equating error of test equating methods (chained-equipercentile equating, Tucker, frequency estimation equating, and Braun-Holland) were investigated. In the study, two separate sets of 10,000 dichotomous data were generated consistent with a 2-parameter logistic model. While generating data, the MCAR and MAR missing data mechanisms were used. All analyses were conducted by R 4.2.2. As a result of the study, it was seen that the RMSE of the equating methods increased significantly as the missing data rate increased. The results indicate that the RMSE of the equating methods with imputed missing data are reduced compared to equating without imputed missing data. Furthermore, the percentage of missing data, along with the difference between ability levels and the average difficulty difference between forms, was found to significantly affect equating errors in the presence of missing data. Although increasing sample size did not have a significant effect on equating error in the presence of missing data, it did lead to more accurate equating when there was no missing data present.","PeriodicalId":411995,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Psychology and Educational Studies","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123600952","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this respect, high self-esteem is important for human mental health. This research aimed to determine university students' intolerance of uncertainty and alexithymia levels to predict their self-esteem. The research group comprised 365 undergraduate students. The data were collected using the “Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSE),\" \"Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS),\" and “Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale (IUS).\" The analysis results of this study, in which the predictive correlational design was employed, revealed that self-esteem decreased as the level of alexithymia and intolerance of uncertainty increased. Besides, alexithymia and intolerance of uncertainty were significant predictors of self-esteem. It is hypothesized that interventions to increase self-esteem will reduce levels of alexithymia and intolerance of uncertainty. The integration of findings regarding alexithymia and intolerance of uncertainty, which are more common in clinical samples, into education will improve academic achievement and welfare.","PeriodicalId":411995,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Psychology and Educational Studies","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126695652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study group of the study consisted of 177 (52.8%) females and 158 males (%) aged between 24 and 50 (x̄=30.2), residing in İzmir, and having a relationship period of 2 to 20 years (x̄=5.9). 47.2), a total of 335 heterosexual married people. As data collection tools in the research, “Relationship Maintenance Strategies Scale”, “Gender Roles Attitude Scale” and “Personal Information Form” were used. Two-way MANOVA method was used in the analysis of the data. Findings from the two-way MANOVA analysis show that gender and gender roles have an impact on relationship maintenance behaviors. In this context, it has been determined that gender roles have a higher degree of influence than biological sex in maintaining relationships. According to the findings of the study, it was determined that female participants exhibited relationship-maintaining behaviors more frequently than male participants. In terms of gender roles attitude, It has been determined that the participants who have an egalitarian gender role attitude exhibit more frequent relationship maintenance behaviors than the participants who have traditional gender roles attitudes. As a result, gender and gender roles have a significant effect on relationship maintenance strategies.","PeriodicalId":411995,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Psychology and Educational Studies","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130077730","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research is a quantitative study using the correlational survey model. The study group consists of academic staff working in two state and two foundation universities in Istanbul, and the sampling consists of 352 academic staff. Data were collected through the Academic Burnout Scale developed by Tümkaya (2000) and the Work-Life Balance Scale developed by Apaydın (2011). Academic burnout and work-life balance levels among academic staff were analyzed according to gender and marital status variables. The arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, regression analysis, and correlation analysis techniques were used to analyze the data. The findings of the study indicate that the participants experienced high levels of burnout and were able to achieve a moderate work-life balance. Academics think they can achieve work-life balance at a moderate level. There is a negative and significant relationship between academics' academic burnout and their perceptions of work-life balance in all sub-dimensions. Academics' perceptions of academic burnout are a significant predictor of their perceptions of work-life balance.","PeriodicalId":411995,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Psychology and Educational Studies","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133506831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research design of this study is quasi-experimental, with 3x3 pre-tests, post-tests, follow-up tests, and experimental, control, and placebo groups. In the study, the Respect for Diversity Scale and the Ka-Si Empathic Tendency Scale were used. The research was conducted with a total of 24 third-grade students selected for the experimental group (n = 9), the placebo group (n = 7), and the control group (n = 8). The \"Friedman Test\" was used to compare the pre-test, post-test, and follow-up tests of the experimental group, and the \"Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks Test\" was used to find out whether there was any statistically significant difference between the test scores of each group. According to Friedman Test results, a significant difference was found between the scores of respect for diversity, but there was no significant difference between the scores of empathic tendency. The analysis of the pre-test and post-test scores of the placebo and control groups yielded no significant differences. When the follow-up test scores applied six weeks after the post-test were analyzed, it was seen that the significant difference obtained for the respect for diversity test was preserved in the experimental group. Only the Wilcoxon Signed Rank tests between the pre-test scores and follow-up test scores and the pre-test scores and post-test scores obtained through the Respect for Diversity Scale yielded significant differences. According to the results of the Kruskal-Wallis H Test conducted to analyze the post-test scores of the experiment, placebo, and control groups, a significant difference was found between the groups. However, according to the Bonferroni-corrected Mann-Whitney U test utilized to determine which binary comparison caused the difference, no significant difference was found.","PeriodicalId":411995,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Psychology and Educational Studies","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121403746","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research was designed in the causal relational survey model to determine the relationship between teacher autonomy and dedication to the teaching profession. The study population of the research consisted of 475 teachers working in primary schools in the city center of Bolu, and feedback was obtained from 318 teachers. Teacher Autonomy Scale and Teaching Profession Scale were used as data collection tools in the research. Parametric tests were used in my research because the data showed a normal distribution. According to the results of the research, although it is a positive result that teachers' autonomy is at a high level in the dimensions of scale total, teaching process, and professional communication autonomy, it is a remarkable result that it is at a medium level in the dimensions of curriculum autonomy and professional development autonomy. Teachers' perceptions of dedication to the profession are high in all dimensions, including commitment to the profession, devotion to students, and self-sacrificing work on the total scale. In general, there is a positive, moderate, and high level significant relationship between the whole and dimensions of the teacher autonomy scale and the scale of dedication to the teaching profession. Teacher autonomy is a significant predictor of commitment to the teaching profession. Teacher autonomy scale sub-dimensions: the scale of dedication to the teaching profession significantly predicts the dimensions of commitment to the profession, dedication to students, and selfless work.","PeriodicalId":411995,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Psychology and Educational Studies","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132857316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
