Technology is constantly advancing around older adults, and older adults with low cognitive function are unable to cope with these changes, requiring assistance. We modified the Everyday Technology Use Questionnaire (ETUQ) to create a Japanese version and conducted a survey of home-dwelling older adults. As a result, we confirm that older adults need to be able to cope with home appliances such as rice cookers, pots, refrigerators, television remote controllers, vacuum cleaners and stoves. Based on these results, we improved TV remote controllers and confirmed that problems due to accidental clicks were reduced. Through a similar survey, we created a toilet-flushing forgetfulness notification system and wandering prevention sensor for people with higher brain dysfunction to help reduce the burden on caregivers.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81556337","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The literature suggests that the invisibility of ABI in addition to a lack of knowledge, misinformation and unfamiliarity in the general public are common sources of the stigma towards this population. As a consequence, psychoeducation to the general public has been defined as a key intervention, even though it has been traditionally directed at ABI survivors, their families and their immediate social environment. The purpose of this literature review is to outline the relationship between invisible deficits and public stigma. This review is theoretically guided by the social attribution theory and the danger appraisal model. We also discuss the implications of these models for the neuropsychological rehabilitation of people with ABI, placing special emphasis on the need to make psychoeducation available to the general public as an intervention that reduces stigma and, consequently, facilitates community reintegration.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83513820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents an overview of current methods of aphasia treatment, as well as empirical data on their effectiveness and limitations. We surveyed literature by accessing electronic databases of Serbian libraries and by using specialized search engines on the internet. A review of the papers confirmed the existence of numerous methods in the treatment of aphasia today, which we conveniently grouped. The central place in the treatment is occupied by methods aimed at treating specific language disorders and methods specific to the type of aphasia. Methods that are complementary to language-oriented forms of therapy also need to be examined. There is a growing necessity to better define criteria for the implementation of some therapy methods. We feel that more precise definitions and a more unified methodology are needed to evaluate the efficacy of therapy methods and their verification.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84223056","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Technological advances and developments have improved quality of life and increased life expectancy. Research has shown that including information and communication technologies (ICT) and assistive technologies (AT) in neuropsychological intervention processes yields favourable results. Based on this framework, we present a work model by the Neuropsychology Service at the Centro de Desarrollo de Tecnologías de Inclusión [Centre for the Development of Inclusion Technologies] (CEDETi UC) which includes ICTs and ATs in neuropsychological interventions. Two emblematic cases are presented, in which the use of ATs and ICTs is key to reaching the objectives established with users, their families and the professionals who assisted them during rehabilitation. The results of these experiences have been essential to developing a work methodology and replicating work programmes with other users, at any stage of their cycle.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76632308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although it is believed that this association is partly an effect of the experimental procedure, the implications of this have not been explored. Could affective learning be understood to be a socially mediated process that requires a specific setting? This explanation is discussed from Lev Vygotsky’s sociocultural approach and the concept of device, emphasizing both the subject’s and the context’s active way of becoming in the acquisition of tastes. We also carried out a microgenetic analysis of the experiments described in two articles that are representative of this paradigm to show that evaluative conditioning is the product of a learning device that is part of the social history of the subject’s psychological processes.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2021-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83285026","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Research into clinical intuition is currently growing, although there are few studies focused on psychotherapy and not associated with a specific theoretical orientation. The purpose of this study was to analyse the use of clinical intuition in psychotherapy, comparing psychological schools. Ten Spanish psychotherapists with at least four years’ experience participated in the study. It had a qualitative design and was based on Grounded Theory. The results found that all professionals use intuition similarly in a bottom-up and non-linear process that captures incongruous information, allowing them to quickly organize complex information and establish working hypotheses that they then contrast with reality, preventing them from functioning heuristically. There is a need for further research on clinical intuition as a common factor of therapy success, and into its possible applications to improve the training and supervision of psychotherapists.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2021-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74327739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study was to analyse the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the TIL Scale with data from two different studies. In Study 1, 1,536 adults between 18 and 88 years old completed a survey during the lockdown period due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In Study 2, 314 older adults between 60 and 92 years old were assessed prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Significant factor loadings were obtained through confirmatory factor analyses for both samples. Acceptable internal consistency was found for the scale in both samples. Positive associations between the TIL Scale and a single item measuring loneliness and depressive and anxious symptomatology were found. The findings provide support for the use of the TIL Scale with Spanish-speaking populations.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2021-12-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82259309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This instrument is believed to be useful for psychosocial professionals and educational trainees to analyse the degree of commitment and support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and queer (LGBQ) people. The sample of this study comprised 223 heterosexual psychology students who participated by completing the Spanish adaptation of the instrument. A confirmatory factor analysis was performed to study its fit to the factor structure of the original scale (knowledge and skills, openness and support, and awareness of oppression). The internal consistency of the subscales was adequate (.85 – .86). Convergent validity showed significant correlations and predictive levels with different attitudinal and socio-demographic variables. We have concluded that the AIM is an accurate instrument to assess allied attitudes towards the LGBQ community.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2021-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90232222","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
