Additionally, most studies assessed planning through ‘high structure’ tools (e.g., the Tower of London), whereas little research employed ecological ‘low structure’ paper-pencil tasks, such as the Key Search Task (KST). The primary aim of the current research was to investigate, in a sample of 45 Italian school-age children (meanage = 5.08; SD = 0.80; rangeage = 5–8 years), the role of fluid intelligence (Gf), core executive functions — CEFs (working memory, inhibition and shifting), as well as their interactions in planning performance, using the KST. Results revealed that Gf was the main predictor of planning, whereas only inhibition moderated the Gf-planning link. These findings suggested that better competencies in inhibition promote children’s ability to reason and solve problems requiring systematic and ecological plans of action. Implications and limits were also considered.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83889468","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This means that neuropsychological rehabilitation programmes for people with ABI must cover cognitive, behavioural and emotional aspects, as well as identity issues. Interventions for the treatment of post-ABI identity issues are essentially categorized into two conceptual currents: individual interventions, based on the idea that ABI generates an experience of discontinuity between pre-injury identity and post-injury identity; and relational-social interventions, which approach the problem from an interpersonal perspective, foregrounding how interactions with third parties contribute to the construction, negative or positive, of post-ABI identity. Both types of interventions do not have to be mutually exclusive, and can be combined throughout the rehabilitation process. Although they differ in their procedures and techniques, their goal is the same: to help people live fulfilling lives that have meaning, purpose and value.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81393691","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This prevalence is much higher than the rates in the normotypic population. The purpose of this study is to clarify the factors that moderate the association between depression and autism. One hundred and twenty-one adults (M = 35.46 years¸ SD = 9.46) with ASD and an intellectual disability participated in this study. The results showed that sex and age significantly moderate the relationship between ASD and depressive symptoms. Specifically, males aged between 30 and 49 were the most vulnerable group for the development of depressive symptoms. These results suggest that interventions designed to prevent or reduce depressive symptoms in people with ASD should consider that males aged 30–49 are more vulnerable than the rest of the population to suffering from a depressive disorder.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79571251","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study compares reaction time and accuracy of the response in the three core executive functions. The 92 students who participated in the study were assigned to two groups and performed a variety of core executive functions tests: inhibitory control, working memory and cognitive flexibility tests in versions where the stimuli had high emotional salience and low emotional salience. Each test evaluated performance according to accuracy of the response and reaction times. The results showed that high emotional salience is a characteristic of the stimuli that, in general, favours the speed and accuracy of answers in visual WM tasks and in IC processes but affects CF tasks depending on the level.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2023-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81155405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An electronic search was conducted in the SCOPUS, PubMed and Web of Science databases. The systematic review included six final articles. In the meta-analysis, long-term ayahuasca participants, when compared with control groups, obtained: (i) lower significant scores for Harm Avoidance (g = −0.51), Anticipatory Worry (g = −0.56), Fear of Uncertainty (g = −0.27), Shyness with strangers (g = −0.41), Fatigability (g = −0.28) and Purposefulness (g = −0.27); (ii) higher significant scores for Reward Dependence (g = 0.34), Attachment (g = 0.40), Helpfulness (g = 0.38), Self-Transcendence (g = 0.91), Transpersonal Identification (g = 0.68) and Spiritual Acceptance (g = 1.02). Methods: Naturalistic study on the results of 161 clients seen between 2018 and 2020 who completed the Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation — Outcome Measure. Statistically significant change was measured using multilevel regression models and reliable and clinically significant change was measured by applying the Jacobson and Truax approach. Results: On average, clients were 29.47 years old (SD = 10.11) and the median number of sessions that they attended was five. CORE-OM scores decreased 0.05 points per session and trajectories of change were identified as diverse. Of the total number of clients, 29.4% showed reliable and clinically significant change and 45.1% showed at least reliable change. Discussion: The routine outcome monitoring results from this centre allow us to refine certain training and supervision activities to improve quality-of-care indicators.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-09-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85424393","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this compendium is to delve into the relevance and possibilities that the Practice-Based Evidence (PBE) paradigm offers, which includes establishing a two-way dialogue between clinical practice and research, through the studies carried out by researchers from different countries and with different backgrounds, their approaches to the construction of knowledge from the ‘bottom up’ and the application of their findings to routine practice. PBE seeks to develop research whose findings are relevant for practitioners in routine clinical settings, from dissimilar countries and cultural contexts, where the central interest is improving the quality of treatment provided to users of mental health services.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-09-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73875683","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To characterize the client’s lack of change and the patterns of therapeutic collaboration in a dropout of psychodynamic therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), we used the Therapeutic Collaboration Coding System (TCCS) to assess collaborative work and the Assimilation of Problematic Experiences Scale (APES) to rate client change. The software GridWare was used to characterize patterns of therapeutic collaboration and the R software to describe the client’s change. The dyad worked in a comfort zone for the client, with the therapist supporting the client’s problematic perspective and the client responding with Safety. The APES results showed that the client did not change, remaining in control through avoidance of thinking and discussing his problematic experience. Our results challenge the potential impact of therapists’ interventions on BPD clients’ comfort zones, suggesting that too much focus on their Therapeutic Zone of Proximal Development’s actual level might not be productive.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-09-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73925584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
