The first, still the dominant model, ‘Evidence-Based Practice (EBP)’ is based on Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) evidence. More recently, Embedded Change Management (ECM) is the rising pre-paradigm, offering an alternative to EBP. I argue that neither model understands how evidence it is best shared between therapists as both are based on fundamentally flawed epistemologies and ideas of what constitutes pertinent evidence about the psychotherapies. Twenty-eight years ago, I was a co-creator of the CORE (Clinical Outcomes in Routine Exploration) system designed to support Practice-Based Evidence (PBE). I suggest that re-thinking the rather neglected PBE model at the heart of the original CORE system design might help change this situation. However, I recognize that the political models beneath both EBP and ECM create such vested interests within the ‘global North’ that real change will probably have to come from elsewhere.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-09-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81498999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this study was to describe and analyse, from the perspective of the therapist, how the pandemic has influenced their experience and clinical practice. Qualitative interviews were conducted with 24 Latin American therapists who had performed online therapy during the pandemic. The information was analysed following the coding procedures of the Grounded Theory. Three core categories were constructed from the analysis: (a) impact on the therapist: spiral of uncertainty, oppression and adaptive astonishment; (b) incorporation of technologies into clinical practice: ‘I never thought they could help’; and (c) transformation of the practice of psychotherapy: ‘water always finds its way’. The model incorporates and relates therapists’ perceptions of their professional work, patients’ attitudes towards this new psychotherapy method, perception of the therapeutic relationship and process, and the facilitators and obstacles experienced in online therapy.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-09-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82740868","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It examines both the widespread and continuing implementation of supervision in clinical practice, as well as its weaknesses and difficulties (including adverse effects). Developments in psychotherapy supervision research and the place of supervision guidelines are presented. The reviews carried out into the effects of clinical supervision report that so far there is no solid empirical evidence allowing us to fully understand the impacts that supervision has on supervised treatments (acid test). Based on the above, I emphasize the importance of fostering research into psychotherapy supervision, to which the practitioners, i.e., supervisors and supervisees, can be associated in a significant way, thus promoting an avenue for practice-oriented research.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-09-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84774352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article describes the development of a collaborative network between clinicians and researchers in Spain and Argentina. This network is made up of psychologists specialized in clinical psychology, intern resident psychologists who are members of the Spanish Society of Clinical Psychology and researchers working at different universities. The main aim of the network is to foster the development of practice research programmes in a collaborative manner. We present its first project that analyses the sociodemographic data, professional characteristics, personal style of therapists and their attitudes towards research of 409 Spanish clinical psychologists. This approach meant understanding clinicians’ interests, and the beginning of a collaborative interaction to create useful resources for clinical practice based on applied research.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-09-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90596407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has focused on how to negotiate the therapeutic alliance: more specifically, on rupture resolution as a critical change process in psychotherapy. Rupture refers to moments in which the patient and therapist experience a disagreement in the tasks and goals of treatment, a deterioration in their emotional bond or a breakdown in the intersubjective negotiation of their needs. Resolution (or repair) refers to the dyadic process that patient and therapist engage in to restore the alliance and to effect a new or corrective emotional experience. Our research has not only sought to provide further definition to this process but has striven to define and evaluate training for psychotherapists to be better able to identify ruptures and resolve them. We will provide some review of the evidence-based change process literature and the cognitive, emotion and social sciences that have informed our programme, concluding with a brief introduction to our research on clinical practice.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-09-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84263818","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The participants were 711 Spaniards (mean age 24). The instruments used were PN-SRI-SP20 for gender-typed attributes, TMMS-24 for emotional intelligence, PANAS for positive and negative affect, and SWLS for satisfaction with life. The findings yielded the direct and indirect effects of the different subscales of emotional intelligence. Emotional clarity and repair were positively associated with subjective well-being, whereas emotional attention was negatively associated with subjective well-being. Positive dimensions of gender-typed attributes improved subjective well-being through emotional intelligence and were more important than the negative dimension. Men scored more than women in satisfaction with life, and women did in emotional intelligence (attention and repair). Programmes for increasing subjective well-being should pay attention to the gender typing and consider the relevance of the dimensions of emotional intelligence on subjective well-being.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-05-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88681797","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to identify dysfunctions that require a specific rehabilitation plan, it is particularly important that we consider post-concussion syndrome (PCS) an entity that requires diagnostic recognition through sensitive methods. New functional imaging strategies, specific neuropsychological tests, neurophysiological studies and, more recently, peripheral biological markers can contribute to its specific diagnosis. Objective: describe the types of treatment and therapeutic ingredients — and their effectiveness — available for the direct treatment of CCD in people with TBI. Method: a systematic review following PRISMA guidelines was carried out. The effectiveness of each type of treatment and the therapeutic ingredients available were assessed. Results: 22 articles met inclusion criteria. Three interventions (rehabilitation of emotional perception-regulation and social cognitive skills, pragmatic skills and conversation/interaction) achieved recommendation A. All therapeutic ingredients (education, functional goals, progressive approach, modelling, skills practice, feedback, simulation, practice with peers, emotional adjustment) had sufficient evidence for recommendation level A. Conclusions: direct communication treatment is an effective approach for people with brain injury and should be included as a practice standard. The need to develop a generic model to treat CCD that combines therapeutic ingredients from diverse interventions is discussed.","PeriodicalId":41002,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Psychology-Psikoloji Calismalari Dergisi","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2022-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78753016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
