La investigación científica en áreas aparentemente distantes, como la astrofísica y la exploración espacial, puede contribuir al logro de los ODS al promover la innovación y el desarrollo tecnológico sostenible. Metodología: Presentamos un algoritmo automatizado de detección en cuatro pasos para la identificación de picos de fotoelectrones utilizando una técnica utilizada en sismología que se basa en la relación entre dos promedios móviles de la señal. Para caracterizar los picos y descartar perturbaciones de ruido se aplica un análisis adicional después de la detección declarada. Resultados: El diseño modular del algoritmo permite la sustitución de estrategias alternativas en cualquiera de los cuatro pasos y la implementación rápida en nuevos conjuntos de datos. Discusiones: La utilidad del algoritmo se ilustra a través de un ejemplo general basado en datos de todos los sobrevuelos disponibles de Titán. Conclusiones: Comprender los entornos de plasma planetario, incluida su interacción con el viento solar y otros fenómenos meteorológicos espaciales, puede contribuir indirectamente a nuestra comprensión del sistema climático de la Tierra.","PeriodicalId":409902,"journal":{"name":"European Public & Social Innovation Review","volume":" 17","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141680504","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodology: The analysis begins with a historical review of the elixir of life to establish a common context. Both literary works are then analysed, addressing the biographical and literary contexts of Hawthorne and Jardiel Poncela that are relevant to the study. Results: Both authors' perspectives on the elixir of life are examined, noting how each integrates this fantastic element into their narrative. Hawthorne and Jardiel Poncela, coming from different cultural and temporal contexts, offer distinct approaches that reflect their respective societies and times. It highlights how the works differ in their structure, development and the implications of the use of the elixir. Conclusions: The study highlights the richness of interpretations of the myth of the elixir of life in literature, showing that, despite cultural and temporal differences, this mythical theme continues to fascinate and offer new angles of analysis on the human condition and the desire for immortality.","PeriodicalId":409902,"journal":{"name":"European Public & Social Innovation Review","volume":"74 S10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141682365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because of the bureaucratic nature of the PS, implementation of social innovations in PS faces many challenges. This study is trying to identify and prioritize these barriers and challenges focusing on the judicial sector. This study has used a mixed-method. In the qualitative stage, by reviewing the literature and applying the focus group interview method with 12 experts, 40 barriers and challenges were organized into seven categories. In the quantitative step, 18 experts that were identified based on the purposive sampling method have answered the questionnaire and the challenges were prioritized using a fuzzy TOPSIS method. The results showed that the lack of a proper regulatory system for social innovators is the main challenge the SI faces in the judicial system. Finally, structural, functional, and behavioral recommendations were provided to remove these barriers.","PeriodicalId":409902,"journal":{"name":"European Public & Social Innovation Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133540951","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

El objetivo de esta investigación, a través de estudio de caso múltiple, es identificar y describir el nivel de conocimiento que disponen las ONGD españolas sobre innovación frugal, si cuentan con proyectos de innovación frugal, qué líneas de acción de la cooperación internacional española son más susceptibles de trabajar con modelos de innovación frugal y qué rol desempeñan dentro de este tipo de proyectos. Los hallazgos constatan que las ONGD destacan por su rol de promotoras y de enlace con la población diana local y que no son en general creadoras de soluciones de innovación. Estas desconocen mayoritariamente el modelo de la innovación frugal a nivel conceptual, aunque sus proyectos, contienen de manera parcial o total un alto índice de componentes frugales. En concreto, para proyectos de producción alimentaria sostenible ubicados en zonas rurales, la innovación frugal tiene un gran potencial como modelo de innovación para el desarrollo. Queda como reto, en próximas investigaciones, explorar en profundidad el impacto social que producen este tipo de proyectos altamente frugales de producción alimentaria sostenible respecto a otros proyectos de innovación en el mismo ámbito.","PeriodicalId":409902,"journal":{"name":"European Public & Social Innovation Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131210688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research paper intends to introduce a better understanding of responsibilities and definition activities and monitorization of innovation procurement policies (IPP) in European countries. By identifying key factors responsible for defining such policies alongside monitoring mechanisms used currently or proposed going forward, it provides useful recommendations based on past learnings aimed at enhancing overall effectiveness over time. The main result of this research suggests that policymakers should focus on developing more robust innovation procurement policies that prioritize long-term benefits rather than short-term cost savings.","PeriodicalId":409902,"journal":{"name":"European Public & Social Innovation Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128991666","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Innovation is a social and economic phenomenon (Schumpeter, 1935a) that positively impacts organisations and economic growth. This paper maps the relationship between innovation, categories of knowledge, and institutional context in an organisation. It reviews innovative organisations as opportunity takers in an institutional context and understands innovations as the output of a multidirectional process where articulated and unarticulated knowledge is exchanged by individuals in the organisation. Innovation becomes a decision-making (selection and variation) process based on an individual's knowledge. That process has velocity and direction due to its relationship with the institutional context and the categories of knowledge. The paper concludes by presenting a conceptual model to explain the relationship between the concepts studied. It integrates innovation theories, knowledge economy literature, and sociological perspectives.","PeriodicalId":409902,"journal":{"name":"European Public & Social Innovation Review","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134010157","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pero este poder transformador requiere saber que la solución a un problema social y local surge más fácilmente en el propio territorio en el que aparece. Es más, impulsar la IS exige comenzar por conocer la singularidad del territorio al que afecta, es decir, los rasgos históricos y culturales que conforman su personalidad. Esto desaconseja que las políticas públicas repliquen modelos o prácticas exitosas en otros territorios. Dado que la investigación en IS debe intensificar su trabajo en esta dirección, se identifica una vía metodológica, con un fuerte componente tecnológico, que proporciona esta identidad territorial. Su viabilidad se evidencia centrándose en una de las zonas menos desarrolladas del país y con necesidad más apremiante en IS, conocida como España vaciada y, en concreto, en su lugar más afectado (Extremadura). Los resultados confirman este planteamiento y metodología.","PeriodicalId":409902,"journal":{"name":"European Public & Social Innovation Review","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125685491","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article examines the level of digitalisation in different European Union (EU) countries, with the aim of providing insights and lessons for advancing digital transformation. The research methodology uses a quantitative approach, with Eurostat as the primary data source. Principal component and cluster analyses were conducted to identify the key factors shaping digital transformation in the EU-27 countries. The results show the existence of three key factors that can help to understand digital transformation in the EU, namely “digital empowerment”, “digitalisation of enterprises” and “broadband access”, and four clusters with heterogeneous performances along these dimensions, classified as “digital access leaders”, “digital transformation champions”, “digital empowerment laggards” and “empowerment driven disparities”. By recognising interdependencies and understanding each country's digital performance, policymakers can develop targeted strategies to close the gap and ensure that the benefits of digitalisation are accessible to all. An integrated approach focusing on digital empowerment, enterprise digitalisation and broadband access can promote inclusive and sustainable digital development, contributing to economic growth and improved quality of life.","PeriodicalId":409902,"journal":{"name":"European Public & Social Innovation Review","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125012944","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
