Especially, the guard length is not fixed as conventional UWA-OFDM systems but adapted to the SNR of the UWA-OFDM system which helps reduce losses in signal energy and spectral efficiency caused by adding guard length. The system has been investigated for different lengths of not only the symbol duration but also the guard length time. For the given system bandwidth of 8 kHz of the considered UWA-OFDM system, the optimal number of subcarriers is specified as 1024 that means the symbol duration of 128 ms. The results of guard length determination are G of 50, 150, 250, and 268 for the SNRs of 20 dB, 25 dB, 30 dB, and 35 dB, respectively. It can be seen that the lower level of SNR is, the shorter length of CP is.These optimal results of symbol duration and guard length are useful for improvements in UWA-OFDM system capacity and performance.","PeriodicalId":409591,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"161 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127383370","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is essential to have an accurate traffic profile for the existing infrastructure to predict behaviour of the traffic and its structure for the efficient operation of the ITS. The most common technology, developed nowadays for the traffic monitoring, is Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) which allows detection of the current location, speed and motion direction of the vehicles. This paper presents the case study of Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam using Global Positioning System (GPS) with data collected on both motorbike and car transportation services. The study demonstrates different geographical characteristics of the selected city areas based on the traffic behaviours, surrounding areal infrastructure and GPS signal characteristics, such as strengths, stability, and continuity. The outcome suggests appropriate implementation for GPS-driven application in traffic monitoring, control and potential benefits for network distribution in expanding urban areas. This research also provides a persistence methodology applicable for other cities with similar transportation profile within South East Asia countries.","PeriodicalId":409591,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133945322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A model-based sensitivity analysis is made to investigate the impact of physical properties of cone block to electrical field in the resonator. By optimizing the cone angle, electrical field strength can be reduced while power handling capacity can be improved significantly. Moreover, a procedure for designation of single cavity resonator used in high power RF filter is also sketched. This proposed structure is applied to design a cavity filter for eNodeB, which improves the power handling capacity from 148.9W up to 449.4W.","PeriodicalId":409591,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133319882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accuracy in indoor positioning is always a big challenge that requires the endeavor of researchers. Without any extra cost, Trilateration is considered a feasible method to be able to build an indoor positioning system. In this paper, we introduce an iBeacon-based smartphone indoor positioning system using Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (PDR) and Trilateration method. We propose a Reliable region-based position correction method to reduce the cumulative error caused by PDR. The proposed system is implemented on an iPhone as an application. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed method, we perform some real experiments in two cases: 1. only use PDR, 2. use our proposed method. The results showed that the accuracy improved markedly","PeriodicalId":409591,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115929290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A new cooperative NOMA scheme is proposed to protect the confidential communication that is transmitted from a source to two users by the help of a relay under the monitoring of an eavesdropper (EAV). In particular, the legitimate user generates jamming signals to the EAV while the source transmits the signals to the relay and the source sends jamming signals to the EAV while the relay forwards the signals to the users. In order to evaluate the secrecy performance, the physical layer security (PLS) in term of the secrecy outage probability (SOP) for the active protection scheme (APS) is investigated and compared to that for a benchmark non-protection scheme (NPS). Simulation results show that the APS can effectively enhance the secrecy performance.","PeriodicalId":409591,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"163 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125913504","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"A Novel Integer Linear Programming Formulation for Designing Transparent WDM Optical Core Networks","authors":"D. Hai","doi":"10.1109/ATC.2019.8924515","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ATC.2019.8924515","url":null,"abstract":"The explosive growth of Internet traffic driven by the rise and popularity of bandwidth-intensive services such as virtual realities, big data exchanges and artificial intelligence necessitates for a re-consideration of optical transport networks toward greater capital and operational efficiency from both designing, planning and management perspectives. Thanks to mainly the significant advances in transmission technologies and reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexers, transparent (all-optical) core networks with wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) technologies have been well-adopted by network operators as costly optical-electrical-optical interfaces are eliminated together with the merit of scalable upgrade. Efficient designing of such transparent networks therefore has been of ever-growing importance as the spectrum capacity has to be optimized while maintaining the efficiency of operations. Conventional approaches based on integer linear programming formulations and/or heuristic algorithms have nevertheless been focused on optimizing a single metric, i.e., wavelength count or wavelength link usage, and doing so possibly poses penalties to the remaining objectives. In addressing this issue, this paper presents a new integer linear programming formulation incorporating both two performance metrics into consideration with an integrated objective function. We then introduce a framework for analyzing and properly setting up the weight coefficients of integrated objective function so as to guarantee the order of optimization. Extensive numerical studies on realistic topologies highlight the effectiveness of our proposal compared to conventional designs based on single objective formulation in the literature.","PeriodicalId":409591,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"148 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116658561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The solution provides two mobility approaches. The first one is a distributed mobility solution based on NEMO for heterogeneous mobile IP networks. This solution deploys multiple Home Agents (HAs), and the mobility anchors are closer to the edge of the network in order to provide optimal routing and lower delays. The performance evaluations are provided in terms of handover latency, signaling and packet delivery costs, and end to end delay. Another solution is based on Software-Defined Networking (SDN) that provides network operators to easily and quickly introduce new services and flexibly adapt to their requirements. This solution offers some of advantages including no need to deploy any mobility-related component at the access router, independence of the underlying technologies, and per-flow mobility support.","PeriodicalId":409591,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134536593","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
