The proposed procedure is inspired by inverse synthetic aperture radar imaging, applied to signals received at the interior of the system under test (SUT), within the shield to be imaged. The SUT is submitted to a series of plane waves impinging from different directions of arrival; the proposed procedure transforms directional and phase-shift information into spatial resolution, without requiring necessarily the use of spatially resolved waves to estimate the position of apertures. Numerical results are shown, and demonstrate the feasibility of localizing several apertures from a single internal receiver.","PeriodicalId":409536,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE Conference on Antenna Measurements & Applications (CAMA)","volume":"119 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132373095","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some results of these studies are used in medical therapies, like electrochemotherapy. This paper deals with the design of a new antenna applicator for in vivo experiments. The radiating waveforms are subnanoseconds pulses, which effects on biological tissues are not well known. The design of this new applicator is based on the PSIRA (Prolate Spheroidal impulse Radiating Antenna) designed by C. E Baum[1]-[2]. This applicator radiate in a dielectric medium like water, to minimize reflections between the excitation site and the biological tissue under radiation. Design issues, and measurements are discussed.","PeriodicalId":409536,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE Conference on Antenna Measurements & Applications (CAMA)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130478460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, the polarization characteristics of the fundamental unidirectional CFRP laminates are measured at W-band. The measured transmission characteristics show that the significant difference depends on the polarization of the incident wave. Second, the CFRP parabolic reflectors with and without chrome plating are measured. The results show almost the same characteristics. From these results, the fundamental applicability of the CFRP laminates utilized in millimeter-wave antennas is confirmed.","PeriodicalId":409536,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE Conference on Antenna Measurements & Applications (CAMA)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127634467","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

That behavior is obtained by means of a trigger mode of radiation perfectly controlled by a single optical source. The transmitter consists of a powerful picoseconds laser, an optical power divider and n optoelectronic ultra-wideband radiation sources which produce several electric pulse trains with a repetition rate slightly different one with each other. Each train is then addressed toward a single antenna. When transmitted the electromagnetic waves interact to produce an ultrafast orientation of the array emission lobe allowing scanning of large spatial field in less than 1μs.","PeriodicalId":409536,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE Conference on Antenna Measurements & Applications (CAMA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130941543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, after a preliminary data preprocessing the radar traces are decoupled, and modeled as a set of transmission line segments interconnected together. The echoes present in the radar traces, which represents targets belonging the inaccessible domain, are modeled as mismatches in the transmission lines. Then a simple inversion procedure is considered to identifies the mismatches and consequently the unknown walls or objects characteristics. The knowledge of the walls and objects characteristics permits to remove or mitigate the image defocusing and location displacement of the targets (namely persons belonging the inaccessible scenario). The proposed method has been numerically assessed considering realistic scenarios and the obtained results are quite promising.","PeriodicalId":409536,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE Conference on Antenna Measurements & Applications (CAMA)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133827372","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The SEM allows modeling its late time response using poles which are theoretically independent of the incident wave angle. These poles can thus be used for antenna identification. One of the major limitations of the SEM is its complexity to extract the physical poles of the antenna, i.e. those which are independent of the direction. In this paper, we show that it is possible to estimate one physical set of poles by considering only the boresight direction. This poles' set allows modeling the late time measured field backscattered the antenna with a very high accuracy in both time and frequency domains. Then, these poles are compared to those extracted from other directions and we observe a very good stability of the poles regarding the incident wave angle.","PeriodicalId":409536,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE Conference on Antenna Measurements & Applications (CAMA)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114877981","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This will be made possible by reliable and secure wireless connections to the car via the wireless network, and directly from other vehicles in the close vicinity. Thereby OTA-testing becomes a big issue, both in multipath and Line-Of-Sight (LOS). The present paper proposes two compact and cost-effective test chambers that take account of the two limiting environments known as Rich Isotropic Multipath (RIMP) and Random-LOS. The randomness of the latter is associated with the unknown and arbitrarily distributed angle of arrival of the LOS in the horizontal plane, sometimes also having an unknown polarization, which thereby also become random.","PeriodicalId":409536,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE Conference on Antenna Measurements & Applications (CAMA)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130703902","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
