Abstract

Since decades, some studies have been done to determinate electromagnetics impulses effects on biological tissues. Some results of these studies are used in medical therapies, like electrochemotherapy. This paper deals with the design of a new antenna applicator for in vivo experiments. The radiating waveforms are subnanoseconds pulses, which effects on biological tissues are not well known. The design of this new applicator is based on the PSIRA (Prolate Spheroidal impulse Radiating Antenna) designed by C. E Baum[1]-[2]. This applicator radiate in a dielectric medium like water, to minimize reflections between the excitation site and the biological tissue under radiation. Design issues, and measurements are discussed.
E . Baum[1]-[2]设计的PSIRA(长球面脉冲辐射天线)。
