The quality of sleep was assessed by using Groningen sleep quality scale. Warm foot bath was administered by the researcher for 20 minutes in experimental group. For control group, routine care without warm footbath was given. Post-test was done to assess the quality of sleep in experimental group and control group by using Groningen sleep quality scale. Descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were used to analyze the data. Insomnia is defined as a subjective complaint of inadequate nocturnal sleep. It is the most common sleep disorder reported by cancer patients. Although alterations in sleep patterns are endemic among this population, sleep problems are rarely assessed in a typical patient evaluation. Unpaired 't' test was used to compare the effect of warm foot bath on quality of sleep among patients with cancer in the experimental and control group. It was identified that the mean value of quality of sleep among patients with cancer in the experimental and control group was 4.66 (SD=2.24) and 7.76 (SD= 1.66) I found Calculated “value is 6.026 is greater than the table “t” value of 2. 0 at 0.05 level of significance where DF Value was 58. It is most dangerous and it’s also called as silent killer disease. Many people have misconception that, cancer is not curable. It is deadly now days but there are so many good treatment modalities been introduced in the hospital like chemotherapy and radiation therapy, Combination therapy & surgical intervention. Men to women ratio men are more affected. The reason s in men to get affected more is because of using of tobacco and its products .By chewing tobacco it affects oral cavity. All over the world around 14,10,0000 new cancer cases and 8.200000 deaths occurred in 2012. About 30% cancer cases are caused due to use of tobacco and its products and remaining 70% are because of environmental factors, hereditary. Chewing tobacco affects whole oral cavity including th roat and lymph nodes, pharynx, voice box. But among all’ oral cancer is most common and many people are very familiar with it. Even though it is life threatening condition people still prefers to use the products. cancer has its treatment like radiation & chemo therapies they are expensive and has their own side effects like oral mucositis burning sensation loosening of teeth’s and etc. To protect the young generation from this disease, the government of India have made many attempt to resolve this big burden from the country, Like tobacco and products are banned and smoking in public places are against the low and govt also punished people for breaking the rules of the government but still over peoples are not worried about the effects of tobacco on their own health as well as public health. Objectives: To assess the knowledge regarding oral cancer among the adolescents in selected PU colleges. To evaluate the effectiveness of PTP on knowledge regarding oral cancer among the adolescents in selected PU colleges and to find out the association between posttest knowledge scores with selected socio demographic variables. Methodology: An evaluative approach with pre-experimental one group pretest posttest design was adopted for the study. The 50 samples from the selected from selected PU colleges of Bengaluru district were selected using convenient sampling technique. Data was collected by structured knowledge questionnaire. Results: The results of the study revealed that, in pretest shows that 9(18%) had low level knowledge, 31(62%) had medium level knowledge, and 10(20%) had high level knowledge compared with post est. knowledge scores i.e. no adolescents had low level knowledge, no adolescents had medium level knowledge 50(100%) had high level knowledge scores. The statistical paired ‘t’ implies that the difference in the pretest and post-test value was found statistically significant at 5% level (p < 0.05) with a paired ‘t’ value of 21.02. There was not statistically significant association found between post-test knowledge score with sociodemographic variables. More than 5 million people are dying. The annual death will rise to 8 million by 2030. The fourth round of Global Youth Tobacco Survey revealed prevalence of tobacco use among boys was 9.6%. Many of the studies suggested education through media will help the adolescents to be aware of using tobacco products and its ill effects. Objectives: The objective of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of audio visual display on knowledge regarding ill effects of tobacco products among adolescent boys and to find out an association between pretest knowledge scores with their selected socio demographic variables. Methodology: An evaluative study was conducted among 30 Adolescent boys (16 to 19 years) studying in P.C Jabin’s PU College of Science, Hubballi. The research design used for the study was Pre-experimental; one group pre-test, post-test design. Samples were selected by using Simple random sampling technique. Structured knowledge questionnaire was used for obtaining the level of knowledge. Results: The study results revealed that, majority of the subjects in pre-test 16 (53.3%) had average knowledge, 10 (33.4%) had good knowledge and 4 (13.3%) had poor knowledge. Whereas, in post-test after Audio-Visual Display, 24 (80%) had good knowledge and 6 (20%) had average knowledge regarding ill effects of tobacco products. There was a significant gain in their knowledge i.e 47.37% of after administration of Audio Visual Display. Wit h regard to statistical association, there was an association between subject’s family history of any habits of tobacco products and pretest knowledge scores. Conclusion: The study concludes that intervention using Audio Visual Display regarding ill effects of tobacco products was effective in enhancing the knowledge of adolescent boys.","PeriodicalId":407046,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advance Research in Nursing","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132698908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It encompasses a set of scientific rationale used to assess, identify, diagnose, plan, implement, evaluate and re-evaluate continuous nursing care rendered to patient care. The study aimed to assess the Factors influencing Uptake and Utilization of Clinical Nursing Process by Nurses in LUTH, Lagos State. A non-experimental descriptive survey approach was used to select 100 respondents using convenience non-probability sampling technique. Data obtained were analyzed using frequency tables, percentage scores and pie chat were used to describe the data findings. The findings revealed that Factors Influencing Uptake of Clinical Nursing Process by Nurses include; poor hospital policy towards nursing process utilization in the wards, insufficient materials for the uptake of nursing process in most wards, nurse-patient ratio is deficient to completely allow uptake of nursing process, nursing process requires longer time for documentation, inability of hospital management to acknowledge nursing process as a model of nursing care delivery. Likewise the factors Influencing Utilization of Clinical Nursing Process by Nurses were number of nurses to patients ratio in most ward resulting to inappropriate utilization of nursing process, nursing process is time consuming, hospital management does not recognizes and motivates staff Nurses for applying nursing process on patient care delivery, inappropriate provision of stationery to support nursing process in most wards, low availability of nursing assessment and intervention equipment for nursing process in the hospital, poor provision of NANDA lists guideline to utilize for nursing diagnosis. Also, nurses have good knowledge and understanding of Nursing Process through training they received from Colleges, MCPDP, and seminars/workshops on Nursing Process, most of the Nurses have adequate skills in implementing and utilizing all that are required in the different components of the nursing process and they were able to utilize Nursing process correctly, effectively and efficiently.
