Considering that, in Portugal, art and design research has only recently been validated as a scientific discipline, it can be argued that the available scientific heritage precedes the formalization of these disciplines - and, consequently, resides in an older generation of researchers who led a first moment of transition from practice to academia. Due to the advanced age of these scholars, all this wisdom and experience is in danger of being lost. The WT project aims to investigate, register and legitimize this academic, cultural and artistic heritage. In the first phase of the work, a group of 30 art and design retired academics graduated from the School of Fine Arts of Porto were selected using snowball sampling to be individually interviewed, to collect testimonies and life stories within the academy, both as students and lecturers. This collection was done along with visual analysis of data gathered both at their studios and from their work. Considering the results of these primary sources, the purpose of this study is to analyze all the information, synthesize it and present it in an infographic structure. Subsequently, it is intended to compile these infographics and present it on a website, in order to facilitate access to all interested parties, especially current art and design students.","PeriodicalId":406144,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 4th International Conference on Education and E-Learning","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121980913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The change in learning methods from face-to-face into learning through the network certainly raises various teachers, particularly mathematics teachers. This study aims to reveal the mathematics teacher's perception of online mathematics learning challenges and possibilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study used a purposive-survey method. The researchers give online questionnaires to mathematics teachers who teach in Indonesia. Forty-eight respondents with various educational backgrounds, including bachelor degree, professional teacher education program, and master degree. This survey results indicate that educational experience is one of the things that will vary the ability of teachers in presenting online learning. The analysis of survey results reveals that mathematics teachers had a positive perception of online learning implementation. However, teachers face some challenges to implement online learning, such as teacher readiness in running applications to carry out online learning, online learning facilities for students, limitations in achieving learning that demands mathematical thinking, and constraints in giving feedback to students. Meanwhile, some teachers also think that online learning has various advantages including encourage students to learn more independently, encourage students and teachers to master ICT, study time is more flexible, accommodate students to be more creative in doing assignments and looking for lesson references, and the material that has been delivered can be stored better, in other words, the digital footprint that has been left can help students who want to repeat their lessons.","PeriodicalId":406144,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 4th International Conference on Education and E-Learning","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123368682","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Malaysia, ASD cases have redoubled within the previous years as proved by the amount of cases seeking medical attention. Providing effective and appropriate services for children with ASD requires educators to be knowledgeable regarding the methods of implementation, the rationale and the impact of the intervention strategies. This research is a case study on the use of digital storytelling through Pixton to explore the teacher perceptions of the exposure of digital storytelling towards children with ASD. The methodology employed includes pre and post interviews with 4 teachers who have at least (3) years of experience with children with ASD. Digital storytelling sessions were also observed using video recording to capture the interactions of the participants. The study revealed that the participants provide positive views related to the communication and social skills obtained from the digital storytelling sessions. Combined with multimedia elements, digital storytelling encouraged the children with ASD to be more interested focus on learning. Overall, the study established that the teachers' perceptions are positive towards the use of digital storytelling as an alternative method to the teaching and learning process for the children with ASD. It is envisaged that this study could support teachers in the teaching and learning process in the future by providing effective intervention which can further intensify teaching strategies for children with ASD.","PeriodicalId":406144,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 4th International Conference on Education and E-Learning","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121355120","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, many educational institutions do not have specialized equipment or they do have, but their teachers are not trained to use this equipment. So, the teaching-learning process in this field requires continuous innovation by using new technologies. Mobile devices like smartphones incorporate sensors, which makes a powerful tool for accurate measurement of physical phenomena and collaborative learning is a growing trend that promotes students to enhance critical thinking and individual responsibility in a cooperative environment. Our research proposes a model for teaching-learning physics in a virtual collaborative learning environment using smartphone sensors. The model takes into account gamification and national curriculum competencies. The results suggest that students who used our model achieved better on physics tests.","PeriodicalId":406144,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 4th International Conference on Education and E-Learning","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116093819","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We expect to improve portability and reduce complexity in experiments using services and standards. The application is based on design thinking and design material to standardize interaction. We think this is an outstanding improvement to previous efforts where the creation of technological educational materials are complex at high costs. This new alternative will motivate the use of mobile educational materials. So, educators can focus their efforts on creative tasks such as content design, instead of dealing with complex developments, seeking to complement learning, proposing innovation in the presentation of content through interactions with sensors, promoting learning outside the classroom, profoundly impacting on improving the quality of the educational content.","PeriodicalId":406144,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 4th International Conference on Education and E-Learning","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115271794","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
