It is composed of N VLSI chips which interface the input and output links with the internal optical interconnection network. Results of performance degradation for 16-QAM and 64-QAM modulation systems are presented. These filters are ideally suited for custom VLSI implementation since power-of-two multipliers are obtained for free in a dedicated hardware implementation. Thus only a few adders or subtracters are required for each tap of the filter, and therefore fairly high-order filters can be implemented on a single VLSI chip. Due to their very simple structure these multiplierless filters could potentially operate at very high sampling rates to accommodate baud rates in the microwave digital radio range.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":405932,"journal":{"name":"SBT/IEEE International Symposium on Telecommunications","volume":"60 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-09-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120993995","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The architecture provides high-quality data transmission and high performance for satellite bit errors by using a connection-oriented satellite protocol which can establish multiple logical links between two nodes. As a protocol conversion method, router-type interconnection was selected to guard against problems such as broadcast 'storms'. Based on this architecture, a satellite LAN interconnecting system which includes a 3.6 m antenna with a 2 W transceiver, a satellite modem, and the new Satellite Node Processor has been developed. The system can support high-speed transmission rates of up to 768 kb/s and superior network management.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":405932,"journal":{"name":"SBT/IEEE International Symposium on Telecommunications","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-09-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126704076","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This property is coupled to a similar property requirement of the linear phase prototype filter-based doubly odd transform-polyphase filter TMUX, and the resulting computational load is analyzed for the European study concerning multiple carrier demodulation (MCD) equipment. It is noted that the two most promising unified approaches are burst and fast packet switching. Burst switching is a circuit switching-based approach which allocates channel bandwidth to a connection only during the transmission of bursts of information. Fast packet switching is a packet switching-based approach which can be characterized by very high transmission rates on network links and simple, hardwired protocols which match the high bandwidth of the network. Both approaches are proposed as possible implementations for integrated-service networks. The authors also briefly examine N-ISDN (narrowband integrated services digital network), and discuss the key performance issues found in fast packet switching.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":405932,"journal":{"name":"SBT/IEEE International Symposium on Telecommunications","volume":"119 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-09-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133993386","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
