Energy crisis has adversely affected the common public and also the Pakistani economy. Recently most of the industrialists have shut down their industrial operations due to the shortage of energy. Such shut down of industries badly affects the public locality and also a reasonably on the luxury of Pakistani citizens. The crisis of energy shortage in Pakistan is to be addressed on emergent basis with alternative solutions. A short term and economical solution is the key demand in current scenarios and is proposed in our research work. Many long terms solution for energy supplements exist to overcome the energy crisis issue on permanent basis. They have their own limitations in terms of implementation and expenses. In this paper, we aim to presents short-term solution, which can reduce the energy shortage up to considerable extent. The proposed solution proves to be very feasible and computationally less extensive. In this way, we can enhance the utility and reduce the energy breakdown crisis in Pakistan. We introduce the concept of personal energy independence (PEI), which means that consumers have no more dependence on government or private sector energy providing agencies. They are free in producing their own energy as per their requirement. But the question arises how to turn the dream of PEI in reality. For this purpose we propose a model of home solar grid (HSG), which fulfills the energy requirements of a single home. In this paper, we aim to present the proposal of HSG model for implementation with all specifications and pricings for one or two kilowatt-hour HSG unit. The government would play the role of facilitator by providing technical expertise and finical support. According to government statistics almost 43% of total energy consumption is from domestic consumers. By adopting the proposed idea of energy independence domestically, we can reduce the energy crisis with greater extent. Moreover due to consistent increase in prices of hydrocarbon fuels; electricity cost becomes un-affordable for domestic consumer to pay. Therefore, the only affordable alternative left behind is the solar energy system. The existing energy system has its own limitations in terms of implementation complexity and expensive components. Therefore the proposed idea of PEI is the key solution, which should be adopted. Our proposed solution is less expensive and easy to implement. In our research paper, we present the system model and provide investigations of its implementation. Ullah","doi":"10.1109/ICESP.2014.7347015","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICESP.2014.7347015","url":null,"abstract":"Beta indium sulfide (β-In2S3) thin films were deposited by Chemical Spray Pyrolysis technique, a fast, cost effective and vacuum free method with alcoholic and aqueous solution using InCl3 and thiourea as source of indium and sulfur respectively. All films were deposited onto glass substrate with different temperatures. Characterization of the films was carried out by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and optical transmission. The structural analysis reveals films with (0 0 12) as main peak for all samples in all case. (107) peak appeared only in films deposited without alcohol with high intensity at 300°C substrate temperature. SEM images shows films dense, continuous, compact and homogeneous without void but one noted cracks in films prepared from aqueous solution. EDS tables show the presence of sulfur and indium in all samples with good stoichiometry. AFM micrographs reveal rough films and variation of grains size. The purpose of this study is to build a working model of geothermal space cooling & heating system for energy savings and demand reduction for residential, school and commercial building applications. For analysis purposes ground heat exchanger is prepared for extracting energy from ground along with a heat pump and energy is delivered to the environment for space heating in winter and vice versa in summer. To make it a complete working model, temperatures of the soil, time required in changing the temperature of the air in specified area and heat exchange through pipe and radiator, considering losses in pipe are being calculated. The suitable material for pipe has been selected considering ground heat transfer and economics for different pipe materials. The length of the pipe has been determined depending on the heating and cooling load. Harmonics in power system disturbs the quality of energy supplied to load, increased energy losses and reduce the reliability of the power system. In some cases, the large power converter systems produce not only typical harmonics but also a significant amount of inter harmonics which can significantly deteriorate the quality of power supply voltage. Inter harmonics are those components of current or voltage waveform which are not integer multiple of fundamental frequency component. Since poor power quality cause losses in power system that's why researchers are working to find techniques to estimate and control the harmonics in power system. Singular value decomposition approach is an ideal technique to estimate harmonics in power system located far away. Since in most of the cases, power system produce over determine equations which can easily be solved using SVD for optimal solution. Singular vector decomposition, SVD is really a mathematical method to lessen a dataset containing an extensive number of qualities to a dataset containing fundamentally less values, yet which still contains a huge portion of the variability introduce in the first information. SVD investigation brings about a more reduced representation of correlations, particularly with multivariate datasets and can give knowledge into spatial and temporal variations exhibited in the fields of data being analysed under different circumstance. Similarly traditional least square method is also one of the most prominent method to estimate the line of best fit. This research work will show the analysis of said techniques to find the optimal approximation of noisy and distorted wave form. Matlab simulations were done to analyze the effect of factors like the movement of sun, size of the solar reflective Dish and the radius of the curvature of the dish on the focus point changes and induced aberrations and to optimize the focus quality. Sun rays after reflecting from the dish meet each other at different points in the air rather than at a single point causing scattering and aberrations which is minimized by using dish of small size and large radius of the curvature. Simulations were also done to analyze and optimize the focus spread on the engine placed at the focal plane. As the focus spread increases with the movement of the sun, very few rays hit the sun. Using simulations we get an idea of how long does it take for the sun to move through an angle for which the focus spread is within the tolerable limit.
