Security has become a major concern in the usage of Bluetooth. In this paper, an enhanced security framework is developed for Bluetooth based networks. A Security controller is proposed on top of the Link Layer of the Bluetooth Stack for message authentication and integrity in the scatternet scenario. As NS2 has no provision for security protocols, a new algorithm is written especially for the security purpose and added to the NS2 package. The Security algorithm used is Modified RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) for providing digital signature, encryption and decryption. The simulation shows how the data transfer takes place between the nodes in the Bluetooth network scenario with the implementation of the added security protocol.","PeriodicalId":403563,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Science Engineering and Management Research (ICSEMR)","volume":"87 13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131172122","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a novel algorithm called Mirrored Fusion is proposed to normalize the effects of pose variations in facial images. A unique feature extraction technique called Adaptive Filter Wavelet Transform (AFWT) is proposed, which is a combination of Stationary Wavelet Transform (SWT) along with Wiener filtering and scaling, Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT). AFWT results in low contrast images with prominent features which are desirable for enhanced recognition rate of the FR system. Experimental results obtained by applying the proposed algorithm on FERET, Pointing Head Pose, CMU PIE, Extended YaleB and Georgia Tech face databases show that the proposed system outperforms other FR systems.","PeriodicalId":403563,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Science Engineering and Management Research (ICSEMR)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122408163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Seven different types of block matching algorithms are implemented. Each algorithm is evaluated using different video sequences and comparisons are made through computation time and peak signal noise ratio (PSNR). The simulation results showed that the ARPS algorithm is very effective in reducing the computations time and achieves very good peak signal to noise ratio values. Thus ARPS algorithm is more efficient than the conventional searching algorithms for video compression standard. In this study, a various topology of hybrid filter (SSHF) is analyzed in the point of harmonic reduction, power factor and voltage stress in active filter. Three configuration of hybrid filter is taken for the analysis to mitigate harmonics and reactive power. Shunt hybrid filter, series hybrid filter and shunt- series hybrid filter are the different topology of hybrid filter. The combination of active and passive components forms the hybrid filter where the active filter is controlled by adaptive controller. The least mean square algorithm based adaptive controller is preferred where the learning rate is found by trial and error. The passive filter is tuned to the dominant harmonics and the active filter/series hybrid filter compensates other than dominant harmonics. The reference signal for the active filter is the fundamental current attained from the line current and the hysteresis controller switches the MOSFET in order that the line current follows the reference current. The study is carried out in the system by considering the line impedance. The different types of filter are studied with adaptive controller in MATLAB environment.","PeriodicalId":403563,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Science Engineering and Management Research (ICSEMR)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114224824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is the high level image description in terms of objects, scenes and features. The success of image analysis depends on segmentation reliability. The accurate partition of the image into regions is a challenging task. K-Means Clustering algorithm is the popular unsupervised clustering for dividing the images into multiple regions based on image color property. The major issue of the algorithm is that the user has to specify the number of clusters-K, which is used to split the image into K regions. To overcome the issue, this paper is focused on determining K automatically based on local maxima of gray level co-occurrence matrix. Automatic generated K value is then passed to Fast K-means Clustering algorithm for segmenting color images into multiple regions. Proposed approach achieved better results than earlier K-Means and gives feasible solution for color image segmentation which may be helpful in semantic based image retrieval.","PeriodicalId":403563,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Science Engineering and Management Research (ICSEMR)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126757349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We propose to address this problem using three novel techniques, viz., Spatial Differentiation (SD), Wavelet Transform based Feature Extraction (WTFE), and Twin Pose Testing Scheme (TPTS), to improve the performance of a FR system. SD is used to enhance the facial features. WTFE uses the shift invariance property of SWT which, along with TPTS, neutralizes pose variations. A Binary Particle Swarm Optimization (BPSO) based feature selection algorithm is used to search the feature space for the optimal feature subset. Individual stages of the FR system are examined and an attempt is made to improve each stage. Experimental results, obtained by applying the proposed algorithm on four benchmark face databases, namely, Color FERET, FEI, LFW and IFD, show that the proposed system outperforms other FR systems. A significant increase in the recognition rate and a substantial reduction in the number of features selected are observed.","PeriodicalId":403563,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Science Engineering and Management Research (ICSEMR)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121876139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
