The empirical approach of the PID presents a limitation in tuning for practising engineers, since it requires ample experience and a sound knowledge of the plant. Another approach that came up with the development of modern control paradigm also had an inherent drawback of model dependency. Tuning of controllers in model based approach was challenging due to the mismatch of the actual system with approximate model. This situation demanded, a model independent approach to take care of the uncertainties of the plant, including the disturbances and the unknown dynamics of the plant. The principle of Active Disturbance Rejection Control(ADRC) satisfactorily tackles the drawbacks of both PID and model based approaches. It proves successful in a variety of industrial applications. The unique features of ADRC are the robustness of the controller and its rich capability in uncertainty reduction. This paper presents a survey on Active Disturbance Rejection Control and its developments.","PeriodicalId":403064,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116399545","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The World Wide Web (WWW) has inclined a lot to both users (visitors) as well as the web site owners. Enormous growth of World Wide Web increases the complexity for users to browse effectively and efficiently. Users visit a web site with a quench of getting useful information he/she is interested in. So as to satisfy user's objective and goal of searching web sites, betterment in web site design, web server activities are required to be changed as per users' interests. To achieve this analysis of user access pattern, which are captured in the form of log files is required, known as Web Usage Mining (WUM). Content recommendation system suggests and assists in selecting the content from wide and complex search space, which match with visitors interest, and which are unknown to them. Amount and type of interaction with web page captured at client side is an indicative measure of appropriateness of the content presented. Here in this paper, we provide detailed survey on various approaches for content recommendation and work done so far in this area, and proposed an hybrid approach that considers data gathered at client side along with web server's web log data, which will be used collaboratively to recommend a content.","PeriodicalId":403064,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129088820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The output of the controller is given to a grid connected pulse width-modulated voltage-source inverters (VSIs). The linear and non linear loads are connected to the point of common coupling(PCC). The voltage and current fluctuations at the PCC is analysed. To ensure fast regulation of voltage at the point of common coupling (PCC) and to provide power quality supply this hybrid controller is proposed. Subsequently, a wide range of voltage perturbations, including capacitor-switching disturbances, can be rejected. The dc input to inverter is given by fuel cell which is a distributed generation(DG). When inverter is on the necessary active power supply is provided to load by this DG. The thesis work investigates the efficiency of the hybrid controller to regulate voltage at PCC with balanced and unbalanced loads. MATLAB/Simulink is used to develop the model.","PeriodicalId":403064,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133986185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have devised an aspect oriented scheme that analyses the textual reviews of a movie and assign it a sentiment label on each aspect. The scores on each aspect from multiple reviews are then aggregated and a net sentiment profile of the movie is generated on all parameters. We have used a SentiWordNet based scheme with two different linguistic feature selections comprising of adjectives, adverbs and verbs and n-gram feature extraction. We have also used our SentiWordNet scheme to compute the document-level sentiment for each movie reviewed and compared the results with results obtained using Alchemy API. The sentiment profile of a movie is also compared with the document-level sentiment result. The results obtained show that our scheme produces a more accurate and focused sentiment profile than the simple document-level sentiment analysis.","PeriodicalId":403064,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s)","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133992032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In FM-CW radar, a beat signal is generated internally, with its frequency proportional to the altitude. Beat frequency measurement results in error if the input has low Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR). SNR and hence sensitivity of the receiver can be improved using digital tracking filter. This can be achieved using a set of pre-designed band pass filters (BPF) or a suitable adaptive filter. In practical application, the statistical characteristics of signal and noise are usually unknown. The design of fixed filter is based on prior knowledge of both the signal and noise. Adaptive filters, on the other hand, have the ability to adjust their own parameters automatically and have immense potential in radar applications. The adaptive line enhancer (ALE) is applied before the FFT analysis to improve the detection performance. Performance of ALE using LMS, RLS algorithms and a set of block processing algorithms BLMS, BAP are compared. Adaptive filters with different algorithms were simulated in Visual DSP++ before implementing in hardware. The results show that ALE algorithms can be used as tracking filter for SNR enhancement. Processing speed of ALE algorithms were compared using Analog Devices Signal Processor 21060. Block LMS give better performance compared to other algorithms. Tracking filter using ALE BLMS was implemented in signal processing board. Results show that tracking filter using ALE improves the sensitivity of the system.","PeriodicalId":403064,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130492181","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) plays a significant role in the image processing field. Based on image content, CBIR extracts images that are relevant to the given query image from large image archives. Images relevant to a given query image are retrieved by the CBIR system utilizing either low level features such as shape, color, texture and homogeneity or high level features such as human perception. Most of the CBIR systems available in the literature extract only concise feature sets that limit the retrieval efficiency. In this paper, we are using Medical images for retrieval and the feature extraction is used along with color, shape and texture feature extraction to extract the query image from the database medical images. When a query image is given, the features are extracted and then the Genetic Algorithm-based similarity measure is performed between the query image features and the database image features. The Squared Euclidean Distance (SED) computes the similarity measure in determining the Genetic Algorithm fitness. Hence, from the Genetic Algorithm-based similarity measure, the database images that are relevant to the given query image are retrieved. The proposed CBIR technique is evaluated by querying different medical images and the retrieval efficiency is evaluated in the retrieval results.","PeriodicalId":403064,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Mutli-Conference on Automation, Computing, Communication, Control and Compressed Sensing (iMac4s)","volume":"195 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134250143","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
