These films tackle the issue of the relationship between violence and sexuality, which was crucial for the course of the revolution. Sexual freedom was recognised by the revolutionaries of 1968 as a fundamental manifestation of the individual freedom for which they fought, resisting the violence resulting from the current political and cultural tradition. The directors of these films ironically illustrate how the implementation of the revolutionary demand that sex replace violence as a force shaping social life leads to a paradoxical effect: the revelation of sexuality’s organic entanglement in violence, rooted in human nature.Przemoc i seks, i znów przemoc. Rewolucja seksualna w filmach jugosłowiańskiej czarnej faliRewolucja seksualna, traktowana jako jeden z głównych wyróżników rewolucji ’68, zostawiła wyraźny ślad w czterech serbskich filmach należących do jugosłowiańskiej czarnej fali. Młode lata (Rani radovi, 1969) Želimira Žilnika, Plastikowy Jezus (Plastični Isus, 1971) Lazara Stojanovcia, WR – tajemnice organizmu (WR – misterije organizma, 1971) Dušana Makavejeva oraz Młody i zdrowy jak róża (Mlad i zdrav kao ruža, 1971) Jovana Jovanovicia podejmują kluczowy dla przebiegu tej rewolucji problem relacji między przemocą a seksualnością. Wolność seksualną rewolucjoniści roku 1968 uznawali za podstawowy przejaw wolności indywidualnej, o którą walczyli, stawiając opór przemocy wypływającej z aktualnej polityki i tradycji kulturowej. Reżyserzy wymienionych filmów ironicznie obrazują, jak realizacja rewolucyjnego postulatu, by seks zastąpił przemoc w roli siły kształtującej życie społeczne, prowadzi do efektu paradoksalnego – do ujawnienia się organicznego, zakorzenionego w ludzkiej naturze, uwikłania seksualności w przemoc.","PeriodicalId":40289,"journal":{"name":"Slavia Meridionalis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45816436","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Related identities among nations and the bordering zones between countries have always been and continue to be a generator of racial, national, religious and cultural tensions. Whenever the discourse of identities is radicalized, cultural and political hegemony comes to life: identities are ranked according to worth; borders are changed according to national identity; methods of physical and metaphysical violence are used; shared places of memory are appropriated, and those not shared are negated. Perception is in crisis and, as a result, promotes a kind of conflictual mutual misrecognition. This text aims to demystify such installations of hegemony in the (North) Macedonian neighbouring region, and to articulate some principles of a post-hegemonistic paradigm.Narcyzm małych różnic w kontekście postimperialnego sąsiedztwa MacedoniiKonfliktowe relacje między sąsiednimi narodami na Bałkanach można bardzo trafnie wyjaśnić teorią narcyzmu małych różnic Z. Freuda. Pokrewne tożsamości w obrębie tych narodów oraz stref przygranicznych między poszczególnymi krajami były i są generatorem napięć na tle rasowym, narodowym, religijnym i kulturowym. Ilekroć dyskurs o tożsamościach ulega radykalizacji, ożywa kulturowa i polityczna hegemonia: tożsamości są szeregowane według wartości; granice są zmieniane zgodnie z tożsamością narodową; stosowane są metody przemocy fizycznej i metafizycznej; współdzielone miejsca pamięci są zawłaszczane, a te, które nie są współdzielone, są negowane. Percepcja znajduje się w kryzysie i w rezultacie sprzyja rozwojowi wzajemnego niezrozumienia, które prowadzi do konfliktów. Celem niniejszego tekstu jest demistyfikacja takich działań o charakterze hegemonicznym w sąsiednim regionie (północnej) Macedonii oraz wyartykułowanie pewnych zasad paradygmatu posthegemonistycznego.","PeriodicalId":40289,"journal":{"name":"Slavia Meridionalis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47945985","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Teaching moved from the classroom to the private space of teachers and students. The unexpected move to digital teaching and learning rendered “in-person” interaction impossible, forcing all of us working in education to reconsider what responsible pedagogy should look like during a crisis. In this article, we first elaborate the main ideas of the pedagogy of care. Then, we offer examples of teaching and learning during the pandemic from our personal experience of literary and language scholars, based in Serbia and Poland respectively. This experience has been shaped by our pedagogical choices and informed by our epistemological and ethical standpoints. Pedagogika troski. Nieoczekiwane przejście na cyfrowe nauczanie i uczenie się uniemożliwiło „osobistą” interakcję, zmuszając nas wszystkich pracujących w edukacji do ponownego przemyślenia, jak powinna wyglądać odpowiedzialna pedagogika w czasie kryzysu. W prezentowanym artykule najpierw omawiamy główne idee pedagogiki troski. Następnie przedstawiamy przykłady nauczania i uczenia się podczas pandemii płynące z naszych osobistych doświadczeń literaturoznawców i filologów z Serbii i z Polski. A Feminist Reading of Post-Yugoslav Literature (2020). I situate the book primarily in the field of post-Yugoslav studies, but I also point out how it corresponds to recent developments in certain related fields, such as memory studies. I show how the author makes a creative framework for the study of post-Yugoslav literature by bringing together the concept of écriture feminine, writings about Yugoslavia’s past and the war, and the Yugoslav (neo-)avant-gardist heritage. Od (neo)awangardy do literatury postjugosłowiańskiejPublikacja stanowi recenzję książki From Post-Yugoslavia to the Female Continent. A Feminist Reading of Post-Yugoslav Literature autorstwa Tijany Matijević (2020). Pracę Matijević lokuję przede wszystkim w obszarze studiów postjugosłowiańskich, zwracając uwagę także na to, jak koresponduje ona z najnowszymi osiągnięciami z dziedzin pokrewnych, takich jak studia nad pamięcią. Pokazuję ponadto, jak autorka buduje twórcze ramy badań nad literaturą postjugosłowiańską, łącząc pojęcie écriture feminine, pisanie o jugosłowiańskiej przeszłości i wojnie oraz jugosłowiańskie dziedzictwo (neo)awangardowe.","PeriodicalId":40289,"journal":{"name":"Slavia Meridionalis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48620687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was not only one of the most influential mass and pop culture phenomena in exYugoslavia, but it also participated in the ideological shaping of images and depictions of the neighbour and the neighbourhood as special types of sociopolitical and identity cogitations. The comic book, as a graphic story and a dominant pop culture phenomenon in the 1950s and 1960s, had strong ideological and political power in the processes of legitimizing the dominant social values. Within said processes, we have located several key representations and images of the neighbour in this edition which not only reveal the influence of the political and ideological factors in the shaping of national identities but also participate in the process of (re)creation and consolidation of Macedonian selfawareness as distinct from that of its neighbours. The building of the Macedonian identity, as an articulated story of itself, is largely based on perceptions and representations of and feelings for the neighbour. Hence, we come to the assumption that the portrayal of the neighbour is a type of selfportrait. Obraz sąsiada i sąsiedztwa w macedońskiej literaturze graficznej i kulturze komiksowejW artykule analizie poddany został obraz sąsiada i sąsiedztwa w macedońskich opowieściach graficznych Nikad robom (Nigdy niewolnikiem). Komiks nie tylko był jednym z najbardziej wpływowych zjawisk masowych i popkulturowych w byłej Jugosławii, lecz także uczestniczył w kształtowaniu wizerunku sąsiada i sąsiedztwa jako szczególnego typu przemyśleń społeczno-politycznych i tożsamościowych. Komiks – jako opowieść graficzna i dominujący fenomen w popkulturze lat 50. i 60. XX wieku – miał silną ideologiczną i polityczną władzę w procesach legitymizacji dominujących wartości społecznych. W ramach wspomnianych procesów ulokowano kilka kluczowych przedstawień i obrazów sąsiada w tej edycji komiksowej, które nie tylko ujawniają wpływ czynników politycznych i ideologicznych na kształtowanie tożsamości narodowych, lecz także uczestniczą w procesie (od)tworzenia i konsolidacji macedońskiej samoświadomości różnej od samoświadomości sąsiadów. Budowanie macedońskiej tożsamości jako wyartykułowanej opowieści o sobie w dużej mierze opiera się na wyobrażeniach i uczuciach odnoszących się do sąsiadów. W tekście dochodzi się więc do wniosku, że portret sąsiada jest rodzajem autoportretu.","PeriodicalId":40289,"journal":{"name":"Slavia Meridionalis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44200034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article focuses on artistic works accompanying these protests, providing a kind of visual commentary to them or, in other words, their visual “framework”. The discussion refers to the most characteristic iconographic materials, mainly posters, uploaded and shared by (mostly young) artists on their profiles on popular social media and specially created websites (such as Graphic Emergency). The content of this artistic “production” often refers to important moments in the recent history of Poland (the Solidarity movement), traditional symbols, and the imaginational sphere; however, to some extent, it also refers to the countercultural revolution of the late 1960s, especially to L’Atelier Populaire, established by students of Académie des Beaux Arts in Paris. The article proposes that the discussed posters be interpreted as a generational counterreply to the “backlash”, understood in accordance with the meaning given to that word by Susan Faludi in her classic 1991 study. „Niech wyją syreny”. Kobiece protesty w Polsce i artystyczna odpowiedź na „backlash”Orzeczenie Trybunału Konstytucyjnego z 22 października 2020 roku, ograniczające prawa reprodukcyjne w Polsce – przyjęte w środku pandemii COVID-19 – wywołało silny sprzeciw społeczny i masowe demonstracje. Tematyka artykułu zogniskowana jest wokół prac artystycznych towarzyszących owym protestom, stanowiących ich wizualny komentarz, innymi słowy: ich wizualną „oprawę”. W niniejszych rozważaniach odniesiono się do najbardziej charakterystycznych materiałów ikonograficznych, głównie plakatów, zamieszczanych i udostępnianych przez (przeważnie młodych) artystów na profilach w popularnych mediach społecznościowych oraz na specjalnie wykreowanych witrynach (jak np. Pogotowie Graficzne). Zawartość treściowa tej twórczej „produkcji” często odnosi się do ważnych momentów w najnowszej historii Polski (Solidarność), tradycyjnej symboliki i sfery wyobrażeniowości, a w pewnym względzie także i do kontrkulturowej rewolty późnych lat 60., zwłaszcza do L’Atelier Populaire założonego przez studentów paryskiej Académie des Beaux Arts. W artykule wskazano, iż omawiane plakaty można interpretować jako pokoleniową odpowiedź na „backlash” w takim rozumieniu, jakie nadała temu słowu Susan Faludi w swej klasycznej już rozprawie z 1991 roku.","PeriodicalId":40289,"journal":{"name":"Slavia Meridionalis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45143184","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
