The main goal of data mining is the search for relationships and distinct patterns that exist in datasets but they are \"hidden\" among the vast amount of data. Data mining was effectively applied in many areas including: inventory control, fault diagnosis, credit scoring, marketing, financial services, scheduling, fraud detection and network management. Data mining can play a significant role for the exploitation of business intelligence in e-business. While techniques and tools for e-commerce are being actively developed, there are far fewer for e-business intelligence. This paper contributes to the area of web usage analysis for e-business intelligence by 'marrying' e-business with data mining, considering business intelligence as the best environment. Four metrics, applied innovatively for the first time in the field of e-business, provide capabilities for examining data about e-shopping in online stores and detailed insight into the effectiveness of different efforts by answering related business questions.","PeriodicalId":402367,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122484846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Playfulness and in particular digital gaming constitute the project's chosen means for learner involvement. Game design defines the elements of learners' playful digital experiences and produces the specifications for the development of the corresponding digital games and other playful activities. End-user school communities are engaged in iterative dialogic cycles leading to the various design decisions and their implementation. The paper particularly focuses on educational scenarios, i.e. the aspect of the design of the C2Learn solution which is most strongly shaped by the collaborating school communities and framed by their educational realities. The development of educational scenarios in C2Learn is a design tool aiming to provide input directly from educational practice, so that the innovative technologies deployed and practices introduced will correspond to the needs, circumstances, expectations and aspirations of the end users.","PeriodicalId":402367,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics","volume":"2014 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128024030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A necessary condition for its success as a business solution is the existence of proper software tools for the development and provision of applications for this highly dynamic ecosystem. In this paper we focus on the tools providing PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) functionalities and more specific we propose a new middleware architecture that could allow the creation of elastic applications with the scalability of the application transparently embedded in the middleware. Departing from legacy considerations, we embrace the latest trends in scalable distributed software design as well as concepts from SOAs (Service Oriented Architectures) and agent-based computing with the goal to provide a future-proof platform in technical and business sense. Central to our approach is the tackling of the scalability and pricing problems in order to reliably further the adoption of the pay as you go model. Moreover we put special emphasis on a formal definition of scalability rules and on structuring our middleware along these lines.","PeriodicalId":402367,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126910909","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A number of tools and techniques are available for performing vulnerability detection in software written in various programming platforms, in a pursuit to mitigate such defects. However, since the requirements for running such tools and the formats in which they store and present their results vary wildly, it is difficult to utilize many of them in the scope of a project. By simplifying the process of running a variety of vulnerability detectors and collecting their results in an efficient, automated manner during development, the task of tracking security defects throughout the evolution history of software projects is bolstered. In this paper we present tracer, a software framework and platform to support the development of more secure applications by constantly monitoring software projects for vulnerabilities. The platform allows the easy integration of existing tools that statically detect software vulnerabilities and promotes their use during software development and maintenance. To demonstrate the efficiency and usability of the platform, we integrated two popular static analysis tools, FindBugs and Frama-c as sample implementations, and report on preliminary results from their use.","PeriodicalId":402367,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121079062","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our research considers five dimensions of SCM practices, namely strategic supplier partnership, customer relationship, information sharing, information quality and internal lean practices. By reviewing strategic performance theory, we examine the impact of SCM practices on delivery dependability, the extent to which an organization is capable of providing on time, the ordered type and volume of product in conformance with customer specifications. We also examine the role of SCM information systems on the application of SCM practices across supply chain partners. The empirical findings from a survey of 47 manufacturing firms in Greece confirmed the crucial role of all SCM practices and especially information sharing on the establishment of a sustainable competitive advantage boosting supply chain performance outcomes. Managerial implications are discussed.","PeriodicalId":402367,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125562890","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, the current work revolves around 3 key questions: Is there a way for the end-user to easily track - the many times - hidden privacy leaks occurring due to the way mobile apps operate? Can crowdsourcing provide the end-user with a quantitative assessment per app in terms of privacy exposure level? And if yes, in which way a cloud-based crowdsourcing mechanism can detect and alert for changes in the apps' behavior? Motivated by the aforementioned questions, we design a cloud-based system that operates under a crowdsourcing logic, with the aim to provide i) a real-time privacy-flow tracking service, ii) a collaborative infrastructure for exchanging information related to apps' privacy exposure level, and iii) potentially a behavior-driven detection mechanism in an effort to take advantage of the crowdsourcing data to its maximum efficasy.","PeriodicalId":402367,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics","volume":"252 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131518034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to accelerate multigrid convergence a new class of Generic Approximate Inverses utilized, in conjunction with the Richardson's method, as smoothers. The Generic Approximate Inverses in conjunction with approximate inverse sparsity patterns, based on powers of sparsified matrices, are computed from the Incomplete LU factorization of the coefficient matrices. The proposed schemes are used to solve large linear systems derived from the discretization of a PDE with the Mehrstellen scheme which leads to solutions with fourth order accuracy by increasing slightly the computation effort. Moreover, the proposed schemes are used to solve boundary value problems in three dimensions. Furthermore, numerical results are presented for the proposed schemes to outline the applicability and effectiveness of the parametric design of the Approximate Inverse.","PeriodicalId":402367,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics","volume":"129 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133263710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
