Grounded on a theoretical framework of diffusion of innovations theory and the theories of institutionalism, endogenous and exogenous growth, the study proposes a parameterized diffusion model that evaluates the weight of impact on two stages of the OSS diffusion: the initialization stage and the diffusion's growth rate. Research findings stress on the importance of innovation, the quality of human capital, the technological infrastructure, the protection of intellectual property and knowledge spillovers among countries, at all stages of the diffusion process.","PeriodicalId":402367,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130476634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The generator requires a single text file as input and produces the synthesizable version of a wide range of registers with different properties. The supported register fields are in one to one correspondence with the fields defined in the UVM register layer. The generator automatically assembles these fields in a register file that conforms to the AHB bus standard. It also produces the verification model of the register file according to UVM. For demonstrating the effectiveness of the presented tool, we implement the register file of a small processor based SOC design and present results from synthesis and timing analysis.","PeriodicalId":402367,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129123619","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, if a Trojan largely affects area, power or operating speed, then it can be easy to detect. We explore the cost in area, power and operating speed of two small, focused attacks on the Parwan processor implemented with a standard cell library. The resulting cost in total area varied from a 0.05% to a 0.09% increase in the area of the design and similar results in the power consumption, while no delay overhead was imposed.","PeriodicalId":402367,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128305381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since the amount of XML information is rapidly increasing, efficient querying of large data repositories, containing XML data, is a significant challenge faced by system designers and data analysts who need to support operational actions and decision-making. In this paper we propose a technique for integrating large amount of XML data and use the Map-Reduce framework to efficiently query the integrated data. Each XML document obtained from the sources is transformed properly in order to fit into a predefined, virtual XML structure. Although the transformed documents are not physically integrated, the user is able to pose queries over a single XML structure. To achieve this feature we propose a single-step, Map-Reduce algorithm which takes advantage of virtual structure and computes efficiently the answer of a given XPath queries in a distributed manner.","PeriodicalId":402367,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127341730","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we present a fourth order accurate discretization scheme in conjunction with Richardson extrapolation method, while for the time integration we consider high order implicit Backward Differences along with an implicit Runge-Kutta method for the numerical solution of the Black-Scholes equation in three space variables. The resulting sparse linear system is solved by the Preconditioned Biconjugate Gradient Stabilized (PBiCG-STAB) method, in conjunction with the Modified Generic Factored Approximate Sparse Inverse (MGenFAspI) scheme, based on approximate inverse sparsity patterns, using reordering schemes. Numerical results indicating the applicability along with discussions concerning the implementation issues of the proposed schemes are presented.","PeriodicalId":402367,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129591671","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Current literature identifies privacy awareness as a key factor for enhancing user privacy. This paper identifies awareness raising applications and explores the effectiveness of awareness tools and practices currently employed by six popular SNS platforms, through a combined approach of literature review and experimental use. Our findings illustrate that awareness practices differ significantly among platforms and fail to promote awareness. We also show that effective awareness raising tools, such as privacy signalling and visualization applications, are overlooked and propose directions to further enhance privacy awareness mechanisms in SNS platforms.","PeriodicalId":402367,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 18th Panhellenic Conference on Informatics","volume":"49 9","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114021178","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
