This paper presents an exploratory study examining the behaviors, beliefs, and decisions of entrepreneurs (all typical drivers for new market entries), considering those institutional differences. Research was based on the comparison of two case studies of young software companies, one from Brazil and one from Germany, each founded by two entrepreneurs with similar academic and professional backgrounds. Results indicate that apparently, business environment affects founders’ decision logics with much more strength than the institutional environment.","PeriodicalId":40044,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Transnational Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"142 - 162"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/15475778.2019.1608747","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46548616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, one means of integrating the economies of countries is trade. In this instance, the export-led economic growth emerges as a considerable determinant. Export-led economic growth is beneficial for the countries since it facilitates the inflow of foreign exchange, increases production, creates new employment opportunities and enhances the overall commercial volume. In this study, the correlation between export-led economic growth is explored for Brazil. Therefore, according to the findings of this paper as well as econometric and statistical applications, there is a bi-directional causality in Brazil since 1960s between economic development and exports in the long-run (this could also be termed as feedback); furthermore, in the short-run, there is export-led economic growth. The novelty of this paper is that, it is one of the latest studies investigating export-led economic growth for Brazil.","PeriodicalId":40044,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Transnational Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"122 - 141"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/15475778.2019.1609895","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46882386","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The structure of FDI covered: legal form of the foreign entities, type of investment, i.e., brownfield vs. greenfield, and four indices, i.e., internationalization index (II), geographical spread index (GSI), country’s economic development index (EDC), and culture distance index (CDI). The research sample was composed of 200 headquarters of MNCs located in Poland. All in all, three variables seem to have the most visible impact on the activities in the area of organizational leadership development practices, i.e., ownership structure, centralization vs. decentralization practices and cultural distance. Less important, but identifiable influences come from the GS index, EDC index and the smallest one from II index.","PeriodicalId":40044,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Transnational Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"121 - 83"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/15475778.2019.1608748","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48425591","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A survey is designed based on dimensions that include ease of use, e-responsiveness, e-scape, security, and customization. E-responsiveness and security had strong and direct influence on brand equity; whereas, ease of use, e-escape, and customization had no significant positive impact on the brand equity. The proposed model of relationship between e-service quality and brand equity has the potential to help hospital managers to establish their brand equity through managing the level of their online services.","PeriodicalId":40044,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Transnational Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"21 - 39"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/15475778.2018.1562298","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41753774","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the luxury product perceptions measurement in the literature often does not incorporate the sustainable environment friendly dimensions of the luxury goods consumption. Therefore in this study, we attempt to investigate the role of sustainable environment benefits in consumers’ value perceptions of the luxury products. Data for the study was collected from n = 218 female consumers who were shopping in high-end luxury apparel retailers located in exclusive shopping centers in Turkey. Study results show four dimensions (exclusiveness, normative beliefs, self-directed pleasure, and social/prestige) of luxury goods perceptions of female Turkish consumers. Practical and research implications of the study findings are presented.","PeriodicalId":40044,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Transnational Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"20 - 3"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/15475778.2018.1530925","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42952917","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By comparing the trends in total factor productivity growth of industrialized economies (i.e. OECD, Korea), this study aims to showcase the importance of total factor productivity progress in Thailand, thereby enabling useful policy decisions. The study employs annual time series data for 1975–2016 retrieved from the World Development Indicator. Results of the study show that manufacturing and development policy lead to total factor productivity growth in the short-run in Thailand. Findings of the study suggest that manufacturing (i.e. product innovation) and development policy (i.e. tax incentive) are positively related to total factor productivity growth in the short-run and economic development in the long-run. These capacities are determined by the same set of conditions that are closely linked to the state of total factor productivity and development policy.","PeriodicalId":40044,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Transnational Management","volume":"23 1","pages":"138 - 153"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/15475778.2018.1509423","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43295393","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such a presence can help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) start implementing their business abroad at a low cost, but possible interactions with users from diverse sociocultural and linguistic contexts must be considered. In this scenario, two resources of great value are social media platforms and web translation and localization processes. This article examines Spanish SME processes of information dissemination and interaction with users on social media and using web translation and localization. The sample includes 70 Spanish SMEs drawn from a selection of 1000 European companies compiled by the London Stock Exchange. Results suggest that Spanish SME online presence tends to lack professionalism, strategy, and willingness to interact with users.","PeriodicalId":40044,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Transnational Management","volume":"23 1","pages":"178 - 197"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/15475778.2018.1509422","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44988555","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
