Regarding these issues we can discuss about the moment when the pollution occurs, which of the phases of the existence of the machine is more polluting than the others (manufacturing, operating and dismantling), if the level of pollution depends on the size of the machine and how the environmental impacts can be mitigated. In the construction of electrical machines a series of materials are used to build the electrical system (windings), the magnetic system, and also materials necessary to build the mechanical structure and the insulation of the machine. All these materials are the result of complex processes, energy consuming, and more or less polluting. Once obtained, these materials are subjected to machine processing, generating various pollutants alongside the resulting components (Figure 1).","PeriodicalId":399638,"journal":{"name":"2013 8TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON ADVANCED TOPICS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING (ATEE)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129610819","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to achieve the lifetime experiments, a group of 7 motorettes (made under IEC 60216-1) have been subjected to accelerated thermal aging at T = 260 ° C (for 1000 hours), followed by their requests to vibrations (1 hour) and humidity (48 hours). At every 200 hours were measured the insulation resistance, the losses factor and the electric capacity of motorettes, then these were tested in the AC withstand test voltage (600 V). The activation energy of oxidation of the enamel used as insulator of the conductors has been determinated by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Considering as a diagnostic factor the insulation resistance and using the activation energy value determined by DSC the lifetime line to constant stress and then, the lifetime values for different temperatures were determined.","PeriodicalId":399638,"journal":{"name":"2013 8TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON ADVANCED TOPICS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING (ATEE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129305282","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This disturbance can cause on the three-phase induction motors connected to the power supply system serious ill effects such as overheating, drop of efficiency and reduction in output torque. Therefore, operation of an induction motor for any length of time above 5% of voltage-unbalance condition is not recommended and on-line voltage unbalance monitoring is required from economical reasons. In this paper a new method of evaluating the degree of unbalanced voltage in power network is proposed. This new approach uses voltage space phasor geometrical locus in polar coordinates based on a modified “a-b-c” to “d-q” coordinate transformation which gives the possibility to localize the unbalanced phases and to appreciate the severity of the voltage unbalance.","PeriodicalId":399638,"journal":{"name":"2013 8TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON ADVANCED TOPICS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING (ATEE)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124692902","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The electric power supply depends on the sizing of the protection and commutation elements located in the general distribution panel and also on the main panels that feed the receptors of the water treatment station. The receptors powered from the main panels are the following: water pumping group, air blower, stirrer of decanters basin, agitators of metering pumps, electric valves and command panels. The general distribution panel feeds the main panels, outlet circuits, lighting circuits and the hot air blower. To insure the safety of the electric power supplies' functioning, a well dimensioned grounding and the atmospheric overload protection system is installed. From the results obtained based on the installation's design, the needs of the protection and distribution equipment and also the cable list were determined. By viewing the current versus time curve, the protection's selectivity for each distribution panel can be observed. This paper presents the advantages and disadvantages of ABB-DOC's program in the design of electric schemes.","PeriodicalId":399638,"journal":{"name":"2013 8TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON ADVANCED TOPICS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING (ATEE)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127678057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system consists of the JN5148 wireless transceiver, the dimming circuit that uses a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signal, the vehicle detection circuit and the circuit for detecting potential malfunctions. One way to achieve vehicle detection is the integration of a PIR sensor (Passive Infrared Sensor) into the system. Another way to detect vehicles is the integration of a sensor that uses the Doppler effect. The results obtained show that the Doppler sensor helps reduce false alarms detected by the PIR sensor, having immunity to temperature variations in the operating environment and a greater detection range of over 20m. Another aspect that has been analyzed is the circuit for the detection of possible malfunctions that are reported to the control center, thereby helping to reduce maintenance costs.","PeriodicalId":399638,"journal":{"name":"2013 8TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON ADVANCED TOPICS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING (ATEE)","volume":"259 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117311691","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
