Abstract
This paper presents the design (based on ABB-DOC software) of the electric power supply of a water treatment station. The electric power supply depends on the sizing of the protection and commutation elements located in the general distribution panel and also on the main panels that feed the receptors of the water treatment station. The receptors powered from the main panels are the following: water pumping group, air blower, stirrer of decanters basin, agitators of metering pumps, electric valves and command panels. The general distribution panel feeds the main panels, outlet circuits, lighting circuits and the hot air blower. To insure the safety of the electric power supplies' functioning, a well dimensioned grounding and the atmospheric overload protection system is installed. From the results obtained based on the installation's design, the needs of the protection and distribution equipment and also the cable list were determined. By viewing the current versus time curve, the protection's selectivity for each distribution panel can be observed. This paper presents the advantages and disadvantages of ABB-DOC's program in the design of electric schemes.
