This impact turned out to be substantial and it can be assumed that the observed changes will be permanent. The popularity of active mobility has increased and residents more often use services close to their place of residence. This proves that the implementation of the concept of sustainable urban mobility and a “15-minute” city based on a network of local centers can be a scenario for shaping the functional and spatial structure of the city.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139628364","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such services are those which are most often used by residents. The pedestrian accessibility of critical services in Warsaw varies and depends both on the category of services and the age of the inhabitants making use of them. The distribution of services does not meet the demand related to the distribution of inhabitants of certain age groups in the city. The best availability of critical services occurs in densely built-up areas such as Górny Mokotów, Tarchomin or Kabaty. Accessibility of these services is a problem for residents of peripheral areas.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139628092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As part of the study, these spaces were inventoried and in-depth interviews were conducted with their selected representatives. Coworking spaces operate in 11 out of 18 districts of Warsaw. Their location is affected by transport accessibility, proximity to other services and office spaces where companies from various businesses are located. During the Covid-19 pandemic, coworking spaces were not closed. However, the way they function, the volume of services provided and the structure of users have changed. Coworking spaces have adapted to the new operating conditions and the prospects for their development in Warsaw are good.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139628382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition to representatives of Polish ethnic groups, Orthodox (later Greek Catholic) Wallachians and Ruthenians, Hungarians and Jews lived here. According to chronicle narratives (Kromer, Bielski, Stryjkowski, Piasecki, Starowolski) from the 16th–17th centuries, however, the region was characterized above all by a high degree of population of descendants of former German settlers (called Deaf Germans), brought in 14th–15th centuries, who still spoke a language similar to German and professionally engaged in weaving (especially nearby the towns of Biecz, Krosno and Łańcut). The aim of the article is to look at the issue of mobility of this professional group based on the entries from the Book of Admission to the Municipal Law of Biecz (1538–1690) and in the context of research on the Deaf Germans. The analysis of the data confirms that the key group arriving in the foothills town were weavers from various areas of the former German settlement. In addition to the issue of spatial mobility, attention will also be devoted to social mobility, because moving from the countryside to the city was an opportunity for social advancement at that time.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139268646","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are many research gaps in this area, starting with the description of the spatial patterns of this diverse phenomenon. This article has this main goal: to describe the spatial patterns of the percentage of invalid votes in the elections to the Sejm, the European Parliament and the President of the Republic of Poland in the years 2004–2019. The key of this study is a long-term analysis of the above-mentioned problem, as well as a look at the changes taking place in space-temporal terms. For this purpose, the methods of comparative map analysis, spatial classification and statistical analysis: Kruskal-Wallis and Student’s t-tests were used. The most important conclusion from this work is the universality of spatial patterns of the percentage of invalid votes in the case of elections to the Sejm and the European Parliament and some differences in the case of presidential elections. The persistence of interregional differences is also noticeable, but we can observe strengthening of these differences in the case of parliamentary and presidential elections, and weakening in the case of elections to the European Parliament. The article also presents an explanation for the significant increase of invalid votes in the Bydgoszcz district in the 2005 Sejm elections, which was caused by the unusual design of the brochure ballot card.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139269916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such a development impulse ought to increase the tourist offer and, consequently, employment in the services that support tourism. Using a synthetic indicator, the study did a dynamic analysis of changes in employment levels in tourism-related services and the number of businesses for towns admitted to the program throughout its early stages of operation. The analysis done for the paper shows that the increase in employment in the tourism sector has not been considerably impacted by this initiative. However, if the Pueblos Mágicos verification is done correctly and the program is running, it might play a big part in boosting tourism.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139269449","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Initially, the goal of these migrations was only urban centers located in the Andes, mainly Bogota and Medellin. Since the beginning of the 21st century, more and more people have settled in cities located in lowland regions – in the Caribbean Plain and in the eastern plains, i.e., in the Llanos Orientales. Sensitive ecosystems characterizing tropical areas are degraded as a result of invasive informal development – natural vegetation is destroyed, surface water pollution increases, the frequency of landslides and mudslides increases, and fauna is impoverished. The lack of an effective urban planning system and the high demand for new areas for informal development, as well as closed housing estates for the middle and upper classes, cause profound changes in the city’s ecosystem and its surroundings and expose buildings erected on land unsuited for this type of use to destruction.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139270175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
