The considerations contained in the text concern a case study – Vienna, called “the king of urban viticulture”. Based on the spatial and functional analysis of the data provided by the Austrian Wine Marketing Board, as well as field observations carried out in April 2022, the main characteristics of the spatial distribution of vineyards in the urban space, the structure of production, as well as the functions they perform are determined. The conducted research indicates the multifunctionality of viticulture and winemaking in Vienna, which is conducive to its preservation in the city space. In addition to the production function, recreational, tourist, landscape and cultural functions being an expression of the city’s long wine tradition, are also particularly important.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139270516","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials obtained from semi-structured, problem-oriented interviews, conducted as part of the preliminary research in 2022, were used for the analysis in the article. The research focused on four aspects: spatial arrangements and time use (duration and rhythm), multi-local practices (with particular emphasis on work-related mobility practices and housing arrangements), and the construction of the meaning of multi-local arrangements. The article attempts to contextualize the practices of multilocal life in accordance with the assumption that people living in several places constantly create new spaces, not only expressed in terms of real, territorial space but also socially or culturally constructed space.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139267993","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Particular attention was paid to determining spatial changes in the level of urbanization by regions and states. The study included localities with more than 2,500 inhabitants, this value being the lower limit for obtaining urban rights. In light of the opinions of local researchers, not all such centers already had fully developed urban characteristics, which is especially true for the data from the first half of the 20th century. However, such a broad approach makes it possible to include in the study the entire population classified in the censuses as urban. Available data indicate that Mexico experienced an urbanization boom during the period under analysis. In 1900, only 10.5% of the more than 13.6 million population lived in cities, and only two of them had more than 100,000 residents while not exceeding 0.5 million. By 2020, the urban population had grown nearly 70-fold to reach 99.3 million, while Mexico’s population had only increased more than 9-fold, bringing the urbanization rate to 78.8%. Such a rapid expansion of urbanization nationwide has also led to significant transformations in its spatial distribution, manifested mainly in a decline in the dominance of Mexico City and the surrounding central region in the level of urbanization. As a result, this has led to a situation in which the country’s contemporary urban network is more polycentric in nature.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139269390","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its co-management is becoming a necessity to ensure its preservation, and one of the forms of fulfilling this need is the activity of non-profit organisations. This article presents the results of a pilot study on the activity of public benefit organisations operating in Poland for the benefit of heritage objects, complexes and spaces. On the basis of the analysis of the reports of public benefit organisations for the years 2019, 2020, the author’s classification of the objectives of the activities of these organisations has been developed and groups and subgroups of their activities have been delineated. The relevance of the organisations in relation to abandoned and endangered heritage in particular was confirmed. Directions for desirable further research on the subject of the participation of non-profit organisations in the management of heritage spaces were identified.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135989744","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It aims to present the regional differentiation of the dioceses of the Catholic Church in Poland on the basis of changes in the values of dominicantes and communicantes, and to indicate areas in Poland with similar changes in participation in religious practices on Sundays. A typology of the dioceses was done on the basis of changes in the values of the dominicantes and communicantes indicators from 2004 to 2018, using data from the Institute for Catholic Church Statistics. The results indicate the geographical and historical determinants of the changes – participation in religious practices increased in the dioceses located in the area of the former Congress Kingdom (mostly in its eastern part) and Galicia, and decreased primarily in the dioceses located in the Recovered Territories and Greater Poland.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135989163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authors also intended to verify a new research method in the field of tourism and landscape assessment, involving concentration measurement of steroid hormones: cortisol (C), dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and testosterone (T). The results indicate that all respondents were in agreement as to which factors disturbed the landscapes presented. However, their subjective feelings were not reflected in the biochemical reactions. Therefore, the authenticity of landscape, so crucial for tourism, seems less important than expected. The lack of a strong reaction to disturbed landscape is surprising, especially in the context of tourism, in which natural and cultural assets are some of the major factors affecting purchasing decisions and principal travel motives. This situation may be a strong prognostic in the context of sustainable tourism and environment protection. This knowledge may be used by planners and spatial development experts in designing landscapes as well as in assessing the visitors’/tourists’ perception of landscape.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135989755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One such instrument is the Cross-Border Functional Area (CBFA). This paper presents pioneering works leading to the creation of the Tourist Cross-Border Functional Area (TCBFA) in the Lithuanian – Polish borderland. Its main aim is to answer the question whether the CBFA instrument is applicable in the development of cross-border tourist destinations, and if so, to what extent. An additional goal is to identify the attributes of a TCBFA on the example of the Lithuanian – Polish borderland. The study debates the relevance of the CBFA in the development of a cross-border tourist destination. It shows that establishing a flexible destination management structure enables the intensification of cooperation between key stakeholders across the border, the implementation of cross-border projects and the promotion of tourist products.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135313947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current article aims to fill this gap by providing an overview of the film tourism literature through the utilization of bibliometric analysis. To accomplish this objective, the authors utilized a publication dataset on film tourism obtained from the Web of Science database, without applying any publication year criterion. During the compilation of this dataset, certain inclusion criteria were established, such as considering articles published in English and limiting the dataset to articles of the publication type. Consequently, a total of 144 articles focusing on film tourism were included in the sample. The authors conducted the analyses using VOSviewer in December 2022, adhering to the predefined parameters. The first article on film tourism published in WoS was in 2005, and the most articles were published in 2021 (n=17). Upon examining the most cited articles, it was observed that four of them surpassed 150 citations. In terms of authors, it was seen that six authors had more than 200 citations. Four of the top five articles with the highest citations were published in Tourism Management. Australia emerged as the prominent country in the field of film tourism, with Flinders University, an Australian institution, making the most substantial contributions. As a result of the research, some suggestions were presented to the researchers. Future studies may focus on issues such as the effects of the film tourism on local people, destination sustainability, and the potential for new tourism and economic impacts that may occur in the region with film tourism. Furthermore, future bibliometric studies could explore and compare document types and/or film tourism studies acquired from different databases, augmenting the scope of analysis.","PeriodicalId":39943,"journal":{"name":"Prace i Studia Geograficzne","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135313946","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
