However, the controller introduced more parameters that need to be tuned. The incorporation of fuzzy rules in the tuning procedures can basically simplify the problem but it has been proven that not every parameters need to be updated recursively. Hence, this paper presents an approach to the design of fuzzy proportional plus fractional-order integral-derivative (fuzzy P+FOID) controller that only updated the proportional gain with respect to current error and rate of error while all other parameters were fixed. The effectiveness of the proposed controller was validated by simulations on a steam distillation process model.","PeriodicalId":399080,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127301020","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, clinical data of 210 patients treated with IIT-HTAA protocol and the minimum length of stay of 1 day were analysed. BGL, insulin and nutrition inputs were fitted using Intensive Control Insulin Nutrition Glucose (ICING) model to generate the insulin sensitivity numerically by iterative-integral method. The 95% of confidence interval and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test (p<0.05) were used to evaluate the performance of protocol between the Stochastic TARgeted (STAR) and HTAA protocols per cohorts and per patients. Results indicates BG median [with IQR] recorded in STAR protocol for the whole cohort statistics is lower than HTAA Protocol where 7.4 mmol/L [5.7-9.4] and 8.6 mmol/L [6.8-10.9] respectively. STAR is successful in lowering the BGL which can be seen from the % BG > 10.0 mmol/L is 19.7% while 32.8% for HTAA Protocol. The drawback from this positive result is the increment of hypoglycaemic patients (HTAA Protocol: 9; STAR: 36). Thus, STAR is the best solution in controlling the patients' BG level especially in Malaysian cohort but the enhancement of STAR have to be done to prevent the risk of hypoglycaemia by introducing patient-specific nutrition controller that can be combined with insulin infusion.","PeriodicalId":399080,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130012923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The uprising can be accorded to the many advantages that PMA offers such as inherent compliant safety, low maintenance and powerful. However, PMA has yet to emerge as disruptor in its application field primarily due to the nonlinear dynamics. Despite these detriments, PMA possesses pronounced prospective to be exploited, especially in the field of rehabilitation robotics. Henceforth, this research is initiated to propose a control structure taking into account the nonlinear dynamics where PMA motion is concerned. An improved proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control is proposed and the effectiveness of the controller in point-to-point (PTP) positioning motion is evaluated experimentally using a single degree of freedom (1-DOF) PMA mechanism. The improved-PID control is constructed with the driving chracteristics of the PMA mechanism. Subsequently, the positioning performance of the improved-PID control is evaluated and compared with a classical PID controller through experimental means. In general, the proposed controller is capable of striking a satisfactory performance in PTP positioning with the reduction of the effect concerning the non-linearities available in the system.","PeriodicalId":399080,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126377637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These bugs are required to carefully analyse and resolve the problem. Handling these bugs humanly is extremely time consuming process, and it can result the deleying in addressing some important bugs resolutions. To overcome this problem, researchers have introduced many techniques. One of the commonly used algorithm is K-means, which is considered as the simplest supervised learning algorithm for clustering, yet it tends to produce smaller number of clusters, while considering the unsupervised learning algorithms, Self-Organizing Map (SOM) considers the equally compatible algorithm for clustering, as both the algorithms are closely related but differently used in data mining. This paper attempts to provide a comparative analysis of both the clustering algorithms and for attaining the results, a series of experiment has been conducted using Mozilla bugs data set. Based on the results, this paper proposes a new algorithm which is improved SOM using Jaccard New Measure. The test result has proved that the proposed new method produced better accuracy.","PeriodicalId":399080,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117018301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The researchers have kept on improving the existing methods by creating novel method or developing new algorithms in image processing and artificial intelligence. This paper presents the experiment and analysis of wrist radial and ulnar deviation exercises system based on computer vision method. These exercises are a part of the upper limb exercise for the rehabilitation program. The wrist radial and ulnar deviation exercises are benefited to improve the mobility of the hand and to reduce the pain. The hand tracking, center of palm detection and fingertips detection and Kinect sensor are used in this exercise system. This system guides the user to perform the radial and ulnar deviation movements through the user's display window. The deviation angle of each movement is measured and recorded automatically. The experimental result shows that the average deviation angle for five users in wrist radial and ulnar deviation experiment is 23.4° for the radial motion and 35.8° for the ulnar motion. These measurements are almost similar to the reference value of range of motion (ROM) standard.","PeriodicalId":399080,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128474815","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These fingers are driven by Pneumatic Artificial Muscle actuators. The high nonlinear dynamics of these actuators and the inherent hysteresis in their behavior lead to the modelling and control problems that cause a lack of robustness in the hand's performance. The actuator has been mathematically modelled as a nonlinear second order system and the estimator of the system uncertainty has been incorporated into adaptive backstepping control law. The cascade controller is designed by integrating the adaptive backstepping controller and PID controller for position control of the robotic fingers. The experiment results have proven that the proposed controller is capable to compensate for the coulomb friction force which is the system uncertainty and improves the position control of the robotic fingers. In addition, the robotic fingers have introduced an adaptive grasping for cylindrical-shaped objects with different diameters. The robotic hand has imitated the human hand in terms of size, weight and grasping.","PeriodicalId":399080,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133735134","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, time series data of river water level was collected with hourly time interval in year 2015. Seven rainfall stations in Kelantan River were used and applied to Z-Score. They are Gunung Gagau 1, Kuala Koh, Tualang, Kuala Krai, Kusial, Dataran Air Mulih and Jeti Kastam, and coded as S1 to S7, respectively. The result showed that rainfall station S2, S3 and S5 were identified and the river water level of these station are fed to Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) for model development to predict the river water level at station S5. The input and output data is splitted to training, validation and testing with the ratio of 70%:15%:15%. The neurons in hidden layer were varying from 1 to 10 and Mean Square Error (MSE) for each neuron is computed together with regression for training network. It showed that the regression for training network is 0.9999 which is closed to 1 accompanied by the smallest MSE is 0.00027 at 3 hidden neurons in hidden layer. The finding in this study revealed the capability of Z-Score in identifying significant rainfall stations and MLP developed model successful in predicting river water level at station S5.","PeriodicalId":399080,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133131429","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The target environment is modelled as a planar map for easy path planning. Various inspection paths are constructed based on the survey of current available coverage trajectories. Then, all the designed paths are analyzed to find a time optimal path among them which is able to provide complete coverage on the underwater pole surface while minimize the operational time needed. A robust property is added into the planned path to achieve robustness against the position uncertainty of autonomous underwater vehicle.","PeriodicalId":399080,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Automatic Control and Intelligent Systems (I2CACIS)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129401975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
