Existing methods mainly focus on technical issues. However, the problem of data quality is not only a technical problem, but the main one is the non-technical aspect. This paper aims to identify the role of data governance in the data migration process. The qualitative research method uses two primary references, namely the high-level data migration approach from Kazimir et al. and the DAMA-DMBOK framework. Both are highly compatible with data migration processes focusing on data quality and referencing governance roles. The case study was conducted in a central government working on data migration to the new One Data application. The results show that eight data governance roles are involved in 20 migration processes (65%). Non-technical activities related to data quality involve more than half of the data migration process. This paper proposes the role of data governance for non-technical aspects of the migration process. This paper presents a case study of the high-level data migration process and how data governance comes into play. This research can help the government and practitioners overcome problems that often occur in data migration, especially related to data quality.","PeriodicalId":39735,"journal":{"name":"Business Information Review","volume":"126 23","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141811253","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, this study examines the relationship between DDAC, CBC, and business innovation while exploring the moderating effect of managerial capability. Data from 577 managers were collected via a survey questionnaire. Research hypotheses were tested using a consistent Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) algorithm alongside bootstrapping methodology. Findings indicate that DDAC positively influences CBC, business innovation, and collaborative business culture. Additionally, a collaborative business culture has a positive impact on business innovation and partially mediates the relationship between DDAC and business innovation. Most importantly, the study reveals that combining managerial capability and DDAC has a less notable impact on CBC than on DDAC alone. However, the joint effect of managerial capability and CBC is stronger than CBC alone on business innovation. Theoretical and managerial implications are extensively discussed.","PeriodicalId":39735,"journal":{"name":"Business Information Review","volume":"122 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141821003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the perspective of managers in the subsidiary, this research proposes actions to facilitate knowledge sharing in the relationship between subsidiary and headquarters in a multinational pharmaceutical company. An exploratory case study was conducted. Data were collected from documental content analysis and fourteen interviews with managers from various areas and departments. The benefits include the possibility of participating in global projects and the resultant positive exposure accrued by the subsidiary. While the predominant knowledge flow is from the headquarters to the subsidiary, there is an opportunity to expand the flow in the opposite direction. Based on this study, actions designed to mitigate this point of disruption can be undertaken. This research offers a framework that encompasses the flow of knowledge, the main facilitators and barriers to knowledge sharing between geographically dispersed multinational units, as well as the knowledge sharing mechanisms.","PeriodicalId":39735,"journal":{"name":"Business Information Review","volume":"26 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140741056","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

JPMorgan’s hard-charging chief executive, Jamie Dimon, has been quietly telling senior managers that he expects the mega-bank’s rank and file to be in their seats at the office 5 days a week. While Goldman Sachs, demanded well over a year ago that everyone return to its offices in downtown Manhattan 5 days a week. This comes in the recent wake of layoffs at the investment bank. Thus, effective implementations of cultural adaptation, and change, are a result of the organization’s knowledge management strategy and how they manage remote work. However, this is not the case due to the current status of remote work, the mystery of inertia often sets in, and many organizations go awry. There are unanswered questions regarding the lack of alignment of the corporate structure with the knowledge management strategy and these questions have caused initiatives to stop organizational knowledge to be effectively managed. We propose that an effective alignment between the corporate structure and the knowledge management strategy needs to be a direct connection between the upper echelon of the organization and its stakeholders. A vibrant corporate structure includes all the departments of the organization to effectively serve the objectives of the knowledge management strategy. The structure of this article will address how organizations can ensure that there is an alignment between the corporate structure and the knowledge management strategy. These findings come from our interviews with 81 senior managers in Australia and the UAE.","PeriodicalId":39735,"journal":{"name":"Business Information Review","volume":"1032 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140749080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
