However, the interference of the sub-bands and the channel errors (channel mismatches), like constant phase error, amplitude error, and sampling delay error of the fast time, have great influence on the imaging results. This paper concentrates on the pulse response after bandwidth synthesis with the consideration of the interference within two adjacent sub-bands and these channel errors respectively. The theoretical derivation and simulation experiments are given.","PeriodicalId":396946,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarCon13)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132332137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The along-track velocity causes moving targets smeared in SAR images, hence it is in great need to estimate the along-track velocity of moving targets. In this paper, a method known as Coherent Map-Drift (CMD) is adopted to estimate the velocity of moving targets. By using this approach, the along-track velocity of moving targets can be estimated accurately without any iteration. Therefore it needs less computation compared to conventional methods. In addition, a range parameter estimation method using the range walk of moving target in time domain is adopted before the estimation of along-track parameters. Simulation is performed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":396946,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarCon13)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130480472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, minimize production costs and cost of ownership of these systems is also a major industrial objective. The paper is organized in two parts. The first one deals with improvements achieved so far for reducing the costs and the complexity of industrial testing. In the second part, a data mining method, based on Bayesian Networks, is presented. It aims at processing all data issued from the Built-In-Test (B.I.T.) in order to accurately detect some defects impossible to catch with current methods, such as transient failures or initiation of youth's defects. Originally planned for testing in production, this new performing method could replace, in the future, the current B.I.T. processing, which is used in operational support.","PeriodicalId":396946,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarCon13)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132887041","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The received signals coming from a given point in the imaging scene are taken as the statistical samples of its corresponding pixel in the image. Then the CVs in three classes of pixels are examined: the target pixel, the clutter pixel, and the noise pixel. It could be observed that the CV in target pixel is much smaller than that in clutter pixel as well as in noise pixel. Taking advantage of this, each pixel in the image is weighted by the reciprocal of its CV. The corrected image shows that this approach can highlight the target pixels by suppressing the clutter and noise pixels. The effectiveness of this approach is validated using both simulation and real data.","PeriodicalId":396946,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarCon13)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133774619","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, the sampling importance resampling (SIR) particle filter is implemented to provide a recursively probabilistic estimation procedure for target tracking. For the measurement model of the particle filter, a Bhattacharyya coefficient based similarity function is utilized to compare the reference target and target candidate, which are represented by the histogram of the target area in the radar image. Within the PF tracking procedure, both the kernel-weighted and background-weighted models are applied with estimated target tracks compared with the practical GPS data. The experiment shows that both models can effectively complete the target tracking task with the kernel-weighted model performing better when the reference model is accurately selected, with the background-weighted model being more flexible.","PeriodicalId":396946,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarCon13)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115534289","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The SIA has been traditionally used in the generation of simulated Delay-Doppler Maps, which emphasizes the power contribution of every sea surface point. While in this paper, the SIA is applied to the scattering coefficient retrieval with a reasonable approximation to relate the Delay-Doppler domain and the spatial domain. To validate this approach, a simulated Delay-Doppler Map over an oil slicked area based on the measured oil data and wind speed of an actual oil spill event is analyzed. Particularly, the configuration of the UK-DMC GNSS-R receiver, which includes its sampling rate and noise level, is considered in the oil slick detection process. A theoretical comparison between the commonly used Jacobian approach and the SIA reveals their differences in methodology and the cause of errors. The result indicates that with acceptable extra time consumption, the SIA increases the accuracy of the scattering coefficient retrieval algorithm, especially in the area surrounding the ambiguity-free line.","PeriodicalId":396946,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarCon13)","volume":"120 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114517982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The impact of unknown target motion on detection performance is addressed. Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) loss caused by mismatch between the matched filter and the actual target phase history - as might occur when using conventional space-time adaptive processing (STAP) - is quantified, and major factors contributing to this loss are identified. Limits on dwell time and target motion are established for conventional STAP.
