Su presencia puede justificarse por la necesidad de adornar la escena o por cuestiones de rima. Sin embargo, si al nombre de esos animales se le añade la simbología que portaban en la Edad Media, el texto de la cantiga cambia completamente, se enriquece y comprendemos mejor el mensaje que, con toda seguridad, era interpretado por el público medieval. En este trabajo se expondrán algunas muestras de cómo un texto que relata una anécdota se transforma en un verdadero exemplum al descodificar de manera correcta el significado simbólico que acompañan a ciertos animales en la Edad Media.Palabras clave: Cantigas de Santa María, animales, simbología.Abstract: Animals of various kinds frequently appear in the text of the Cantigas de Santa Maria. Their presence sometimes serves descriptive purposes, and some other times can be accounted for by metrical reasons. However, if alongside the name of the animal itself, we also consider the symbolism they had in the Middle Ages, the interpretation of the cantiga is far more rich, and we are able to fully understand a message which was straightforward for the medieval audience. Se examinan, pues: las apariciones celestiales, los milagros en el campo bélico, las plegarias y las respuestas que estas reciben, los prodigios oscuros, la serpiente mágica, la partición del altar, la intervención de Dios y el diablo en la historia. Se considera especialmente su función y su sentido en el contexto general del relato, con la hipótesis de que estos elementos cumplen un rol fundamental en la reorientación monástico-clerical de la materia tradicional que se efectúa en el poema en cuaderna vía.Palabras clave: Sobrenatural, milagro, prodigio, magia, clerecía.Abstract: Adopting the scholastic definition of the supernatural as a conceptual framework, this paper proposes an analysis of the supernatural, or liminal with the supernatural, elements in the Poema de Fernán González. Therefore, the analysis comprises: the heavenly apparitions, the miracles in the war field, the prayers and the answers they receive, the dark prodigies, the magic serpent, the partition of the altar, the intervention of God and the devil in history. Este trabajo define y analiza algunas dimensiones relevantes de la ética caballeresca que propone el ciclo en prosa como modelo cortesano, centrando la atención en dos escenarios preferentes de la cortesía –el combate y el consejo del soberano– como reguladora de la acción militar y del poder real. Desde el punto de vista narratológico, la cortesía en el combate define la nobleza y valor de los personajes, y provoca nuevas líneas de acción. Un espíritu deportivo cortés y unas normas codificadas restringen la violencia empleada en el afán de proeza. Los caballeros de la Tabla Redonda son relegados a un segundo plano frente al protagonismo que cobra el héroe epónimo. Su estructura carece de una etapa de crisis personal o social del héroe, de forma que la aventura constituye un itinerario cuyas etapas se despliegan a través de una vasta geografía. Los castillos y ciudades se imponen sobre otros espacios salvajes, como el bosque, más frecuentes en otras obras caballerescas. La descripción de estos lugares construidos parte de los cánones establecidos por la tradición literaria, pero se aleja después y muestra un espacio amable, abierto a la sociabilidad y al entretenimiento. El ambiente festivo inunda la novela y encuentra su culminación en el banquete, con sus rituales y su protocolo. En torno a la mesa, los comensales intercambian conversaciones que mar- carán el progreso de la intriga.Palabras clave: espacio, sociabilidad, banquete, fiesta.Abstract: Durmart le Galois is not a conventional Arthurian novel. The knights of the Round Table are pushed into the background, while relevance is given to the eponymous hero. Its structure lacks a stage of personal or social crisis of the hero, so, adventure covers an itinerary whose stages are displayed throughout a vast geography. Castles and cities replace other wild spaces, such as the forest, which are more frequent in other chivalric works. The description of these built-up spaces starts from the pre-established literary canons, but later it moves away from conventions, and it depicts a gentle space, which is open to sociability and entertainment. A merry atmosphere floods the novel, and it reaches its climax in the banquet, with its rituals and protocol. Sin embargo, es incontestable que existió una tradición teatral durante la Edad Media, que incluso mantiene ciertos vestigios en el teatro contemporáneo. A través de este artículo se pretende reconstruir un vínculo, en concreto el del demonio medieval, con un espectáculo emblemático para la tradición escénica contemporánea española, Dimonis de Comediants, que espero contribuya a la mejor comprensión del espectáculo en su propio contexto y a la recuperación de esa tradición a veces pensada como inexistente.Palabras clave: Dimonis, Comediants, teatro contemporáneo, Festival Internacional de Teatro de Granada, demonio medieval.Abstract: Often has the lack of medieval drama texts been interpreted as a lack of theatre tradition altogether. Nonetheless, there was a theatre tradition during the medieval period that extends all the way to the contemporary theatre.
