The telemedicine system will be growing rapidly in accordance with the growth of the ICT. The use of technology can provide an easiness to patient to connect the doctor or nurse for getting medical treatment without visiting the hospital. In this paper, we propose a framework for developing e-Dengue teleconsultation system. It is built to allow the user (patient) to get early concern about the disease and performing teleconsultation via Internet or mobile phone. The developed system is expected to monitor dengue fever outbreak for reducing the number of dengue patient. The proposed framework can be used to develop practical telemedicine systems in future.","PeriodicalId":395673,"journal":{"name":"2011 2nd International Conference on Instrumentation, Communications, Information Technology, and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117136181","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The open-loop nonlinear systems is represented in the polynomial fuzzy model. By considering the closed-loop system in the output feedback control scheme and the polynomial Lyapunov functions that contain quadratic Lyapunov functions as special cases, sufficient conditions for a solution to the problems of stability analysis and control design can be derived in the representation form of the SOS. It can be numerically solved via the SOSTOOLS.","PeriodicalId":395673,"journal":{"name":"2011 2nd International Conference on Instrumentation, Communications, Information Technology, and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131199575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aims of this work research are to synthesize several Gd and Er co-doped ceria materials as solid electrolyte for Intermediate Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (IT-SOFC) and to obtain the correlation between the average ionic radius of dopants and the value of their conductivity. Three set material have been choosen as target of this research. They are Ce<inf>1−x−y</inf>Gd<inf>x</inf>Er<inf>y</inf>O<inf>2−z</inf> (CeGdEr); Ce<inf>1−x−y</inf>Gd<inf>x</inf>Dy<inf>y</inf>O<inf>2−z</inf> (CeGdDy); and Ce<inf>1−x−y</inf>Gd<inf>x</inf>Nd<inf>y</inf>O<inf>2−z</inf> (CeGdNd). In this paper, one set material of CeGdEr have been synthesized, they are Ce90Gd5Er5, Ce85Gd5Er10, Ce85Gd10Er5, and Ce80Gd10Er10. Their structures have been investigated using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and refined it using Le Bail method. All material have the similar structure that is cubic structure with space group Fm3m, but only a little differences at their lattice parameter. The lattice parameter for Ce90Gd5Er5, Ce85Gd5Er10, Ce85Gd10Er5, and Ce80Gd10Er10 are 5,406(9) Å; 5,434(1) Å; 5,434(1) Å; and 5,430(2) Å, respectively. Moreover, Ce90Gd5rEr5 morphology have been investigated using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The result is Ce90G5Er5 still has pore probably due to the low temperature of sintering. The result of EDS characterization show that there is no impurity in Ce90Gd5Er5 material.","PeriodicalId":395673,"journal":{"name":"2011 2nd International Conference on Instrumentation, Communications, Information Technology, and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132025053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Modification of HA surface with respect to bone integration has been developed using treatments which have the potential to improve cells proliferation. Bombyx mori's sericin, a polymer protein that has polar side groups, have been known to accelerate cells attachment and proliferation. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of sericin application over HA surface on osteoblast cells proliferation. HA discs (10 mm in diameter, 3 mm thick) were sintered. Three concentration of sericin (0.01, 0.5, and 0.1%) were applied on HA surface. Water contact angle was measured to evaluate the hydrophilicity of the disc surface. The discs were then seeded with MC3T3E1 osteoblast cells for proliferation test. The data were analyzed by Anova and LSD. Contact angle measurement showed significant increases of the hydrophilicity on sericin-modified HA surface. The amount of cells proliferation on HA discs (1.40±0.26) was significantly difference (p<0.05) with HA+sericin 0.01% (2.23±0.20), HA+sericin 0.5% (2.33±0.24), HA+sericin 0.1% (2.37±0.20). Variation of sericin concentrations applied over HA did not influence any significant difference on cells proliferation (p>0.05). The conclusion was sericin application over HA surface increased the amount of osteoblast cells proliferation. Concentration of sericin application over HA (0.01, 0.05, 0.1%) did not influence cells proliferation.","PeriodicalId":395673,"journal":{"name":"2011 2nd International Conference on Instrumentation, Communications, Information Technology, and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132766440","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are two levels of diabetic retinopathy which are nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) and proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). The presence of microaneurysms in the eye is one of the early signs of diabetic retinopathy. Automated detection of microaneurysms in digital color fundus photographs is developed to help opthalmologist to detect the emergence of its early symptoms and determine the next action step for the patient. In this study we developed microaneurysms filter algorithm with the concept of vessel enhancement in order to extract the structure of microaneurysms in medical imagery, especially in the retinal image. Microaneurysms filter algorithm has been able to extract part of microaneurysms in the retinal image and detect pretty well. In addition, microaneurysms filters can also be developed to detect the next symptoms of diabetic retinopathy-hemorraghes (bleeding) that has features in common with microaneurysms which are larger and have irregular shape. Furthermore, the nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) classification system was developed based on the microaneurysms and hemorraghes detection. The system was tested against the patient data. Microanuerisyms detection results on DiaRetDB data has sensitivity value by 57,4% to ophthalmlogist 1, 35,37% for opthalmologist 2 and 62,68% for opthalmologist 3.","PeriodicalId":395673,"journal":{"name":"2011 2nd International Conference on Instrumentation, Communications, Information Technology, and Biomedical Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130797010","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
