Forty-two albino rats were divided into seven groups. They were given the drugs, artesunate amodiaquine (AA) and artemether lumefantrine (AL) base on their body weight. Group 1: Control, received distilled water, group 2, received of 2.86 mg/7.7 mg AA, group 3, received of 1.14 mg/6.86 mg AL, group 4 received of 2.86 mg/7.7 mg AA + 200 mg VA, group 5 received of 1.14 mg/6.86 mg AL + 200 mg VA, group 6 received of 2.86 mg/7.7 mg AA + 200 mg OG and group 7 received of 1.14 mg/6.86 mg AL + 200 mg OG. The animals were sacrificed and blood samples obtained through cardiac puncture for biochemical investigations. Biochemical assay for total protein, albumin, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), gamma glutamyltransferase (γ-GT) were done. Co-administration of artesunate-amodiaquine and arthemeter-lumefantrine significantly decreased (P< 0.05) total protein and albumin while there was significant increase (P< 0.05) in total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, AST, ALT, ALP and γ-GT when compared with control group. The administration of VA and OG significantly increased the total protein and albumin and significantly decreased (P< 0.05) total bilirubin and liver enzymes when compared with control group. The results indicate hepatic injury in the rats exposed to long term administration of artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) which was reversed by the administration of VA and OG. There is need for caution while taking ACTs as malaria chemotherapy.","PeriodicalId":394579,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Scientific Research Updates","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128321293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study aims to describe the frequency of LIPOE after endodontic treatment consecutive to the quality of root canal fillings and prosthetic restorations of abutment teeth and to identify the qualities of root canal fillings and prosthetic restorations associated with the occurrence of LIPOE. This is a prospective, descriptive and cross-sectional study carried out from March 2019 to August 2022. One hundred and eighty patients wearing Joint Prostheses for at least 2 years with endodontically treated abutment teeth have been recruited; the evaluation of the quality of prosthetic restoration was established according to the criteria of Hickel R while the quality of the root canal filling was judged according to the criteria of Schaeffer MA. The frequency of LIPOE on the abutment teeth was 59.4%. The results highlighted that inadequate quality of prosthetic restoration and root canal filling is associated with the occurrence of LIPOE with a highly significant difference (p˂0.000) In order, to reduce the prevalence of LIPOE and mitigate its effects, it is essential to follow the rules of the art when considering mechanical and biological imperatives during endodontic treatment, as well as good training in prosthetic restoration.","PeriodicalId":394579,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Scientific Research Updates","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117017248","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Pericopsis elata was charred and activated with 0.1 M HNO3. The results of Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) indicates broad band at 3742.03 and 3688.2 cm-1 (ranging from 3000 - 4000 cm-1) and were attributed to OH group stretch from alcohol and the water molecules adsorbed at the surface of the adsorbent that interact with the oxygen atoms and internal hydroxyl groups. This suggests that the adsorption was done on the OH bending of water. Zeiss EVO 50 Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) was used in this study, the result showed that the structure of the Pericopsis elata adsorbent was observed at magnification of 10, 100,000 times with virtually unlimited depth of field. The SEM micrographs indicated macropores in the Pericopsis elata adsorbent showed large cavity. SEM results showed the surface morphology feature of the adsorbents which is an indication that important interaction occurred between the adsorbate and adsorbent granule interface in the experimental conditions. X-Ray Fluorescence Characterized the Adsorbent and the results showed the following chemical composition based on atomic concentration; carbon 89.39%, oxygen 6.56%, calcium 0.96%, nitrogen 2.19%, aluminium 0.47%, magnesium 0.22%, iron 0.09%, Phosphorus 0.05%, Silicon 0.04%, Sulfur 0.03%. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm provided information on the capacity of absorbent. The results indicated that an important interaction occurred between the adsorbate and adsorbent-granule interface.","PeriodicalId":394579,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Scientific Research Updates","volume":"240 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134378845","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is heterotopic autotransplantation of splenic tissue seen inside the abdominal and pelvic holes. On imaging, various conditions can be differential diagnosis with splenosis, including metastatic infection, peritoneal carcinoma, peritoneal mesothelioma, stomach lymphoma, renal disease, hepatic adenomas, or endometriosis, dependent on its transmission. This review aims to increase public knowledge of this condition to avoid needless biopsies, surgeries, or treatments. Methods: We searched the PubMed and Scopus databases for relevant literature from 2002 through 2022 using the Medical Subject Headings Splenosis, Radiological, and Radionuclide diagnostic tools. In total, Thirty-five cases of splenosis were identified and reviewed. Conclusion: Splenosis should always be considered a differential diagnosis for soft tissue nodules in the abdomen and pelvis in patients with splenic surgery or trauma, especially without systemic symptoms. The literature documented only a few examples of splenosis, along with the radiologic features of these lesions. We review instances of splenosis identified by Scintigraphy, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, and ultrasound. Our research expects this review to be considered a unique to compare the diagnosis made by radiologic and Radionuclide testing without any other form of treatment.","PeriodicalId":394579,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Scientific Research Updates","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129398434","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper a design and prototyping a low-cost IoT energy monitoring is presented, which may be utilized in a variety of applications such as power billing, smart grid energy management, and home automation. The system is based on a low-cost ESP32 microcontroller that is interfaced non-invasive Current Sensors, and Voltage Sensor to get data from sensor nodes and deliver it to a Blynk server over the internet. The studies' findings showed that the system for monitoring energy consumption can precisely record voltage, current, active power, and cumulative power consumption. According to the market requirements of Electric Meters. Nowadays, the system will use ZigBee and GSM systems for communication protocol. The ZigBee is used since the application does not need a high-speed data rate, need to be low powered and low-cost. Presenting the remote wireless Electric Meter Reading System, aims at resolving the shortcomings of the technology of the traditional Electric Meter Reading, combining the characteristics of the ZigBee technology and IEEE802.15.4 standard. Electricity is one of the fundamental necessities of human beings, which is commonly used for domestic, industrial, and agricultural purposes. Power theft is the biggest problem in recent days which causes a lot of loss to electricity boards. In countries like India, these situations are more often. If we can prevent these thefts, we can save a lot of power. This is done using Automated Energy Meter (AEM). AEM is an electronic device with having energy meter for measuring the electric energy consumed and a wireless protocol for data communication","PeriodicalId":394579,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Scientific Research Updates","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128507934","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data for the study were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The result of the factors influencing production of maize in the study area revealed that farming experience (0.052) significant at 1%, off-farm income (1.35) significant at 1%, soil type (0.346) significant at 5%, rain-fed and irrigation (0.334) significant at 10% and season (0.60) significant at 1% were all positive and statistically significant which implied that they have influence on the production of maize. Most (67.0%) of the maize farmers are males with the mean age of 41.76 years. It was further revealed that most (60.0%) maize farmers in the study area are above the poverty line. On the effect of maize production to poverty reduction, the coefficient of increased income (1.05017) and improved standard of living (0.83657) were positive and significant at 10% level of probability poverty reduction among maize farmers. Contribution of maize production to income generation among maize farmers revealed that source of food (82.0%) is the major contributor to income generation in the study area. The study concluded that increased income and improved standard of living as the result of maize production reduced poverty among the maize farmers. It was therefore recommended that Government should provide irrigation, improved yield and disease resistant varieties to farmers to enhance maize production in the area.","PeriodicalId":394579,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Scientific Research Updates","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121687798","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: individuals in group 1 (n=7) were treated with minimally invasive tooth extraction, cone morse implant (Neodent®), xenogene bone “gap” filling (Bio Oss®) and cementation of provisional crown. Individuals in group 2 (n=3), in edentulous unitary ridges, received a cone morse implant (Neodent®) and provisional crown cementation. The coronal (C), mid (M) and apical (A) points of the buccal bone plate (BBP) were measured by means of computed tomography and, with the aid of a probing guide, the measurements of the position of the gingival margin (PGM) were performed at the mesial (M), vestibular (V) and distal (D) points, both analyzes were assessed in the preoperative (T0), immediate postoperative (T1) and six months postoperatively (T2). Results: in the analysis of buccal bone plate (BBP), no statistical differences were observed in the interaction of period and group factors, the same happened when comparing only the different periods. Group 1, when compared to group 2 in T1, presented higher averages in the buccal bone plate (p <0.05), and this statistical difference was significant. In the PGM analysis, there was no significant statistical difference between the groups and periods interaction, the same could be observed when comparing the groups with each other (p> 0.05). A statistical difference between time T0 and T2 was observed, with time T2 having a mean of the measurements greater than the time T0 in both groups. Conclusions: the treatment conferred in group 1 was shown to be a reliable option, with results of vestibular bone thickness and gingival level stable in the observed periods, when compared with group 2 treatment.
