The study employs empirical analysis and time series econometric techniques to evaluate the Tourism-Driven Growth hypothesis. Information spanning from 1995 to 2022 about the growth of tourism (TR), expenditure on tourism (TE), average expenditure on tourism per capita (PCTE), and economic growth (GDP) was utilized. Initially, the authors examined the interconnections among these variables using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) Bounds Test. After identifying a statistically significant cointegration relationship, the study proceeded to estimate the long-term and short-term coefficients associated with these variables. Based on the results, it appears that there is a long-term correlation between economic growth and tourism, indicating that international tourism can have a positive impact on economic expansion.","PeriodicalId":39427,"journal":{"name":"WSEAS Transactions on Business and Economics","volume":"48 47","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139594816","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The accuracy of the explicit formula for the ARL is evaluated in comparison to the numerical integral equation method. To evaluate the two approaches, the accuracy percentage was employed. A determination is carried out of the HWMA control chart’s effectiveness using the median run length (MRL), the standard deviation of run length (SDRL), and the average run length (ARL). A comprehensive comparison is performed between the HWMA control chart, the Extended Exponentially Weighted Moving Average (EEWMA), and the cumulative sum (CUSUM) control charts with mean process shifts to illustrate the design and implementation of the HWMA control chart. As criteria for various values of design parameters, the performance of these control charts can also be evaluated using the relative mean index (RMI), the average extra quadratic loss (AEQL), and the performance comparison index (PCI). To evaluate the effectiveness of our explicit formula approach, we employ this formula on copper price data.","PeriodicalId":39427,"journal":{"name":"WSEAS Transactions on Business and Economics","volume":"41 15","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139595049","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results of this study show that there is no relationship between the IFRS mandatory application and each of the rates, return on equity, and return on assets, while there is an inverse relationship with earnings per share. In terms of the effect on the market performance, the study concluded that there is no relationship between the IFRS mandatory application and each of the volume and value of trading, and there is a positive relationship on the growth rate. The study attributed these results to several reasons, the most important of which is the gradual application of the IFRS, which was followed by Saudi Arabia, in accordance with strict executive procedures from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).","PeriodicalId":39427,"journal":{"name":"WSEAS Transactions on Business and Economics","volume":"137 17","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139604855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the age of mass digitalization, people find it easy and practical to review/rate the output of any institution through Social Media channels available to them. However, the ease of Mass-communication is itself responsible or at least a contributor to fake/false/biased reviews of purchased products and services. This research will investigate e-WOM as expressed by service reviewing in the Saudi Tourism/Hospitality sector, which has been booming in recent years due to the 2020-2030 transformative Plan. We propose to study how different variables may influence the service provider (Brand Reputation), the consumers’ attitudes towards it, the quality of the information provided, and the ease of accessibility of them. To our surprise, we found no significant impact of e-WOM on Brand Reputation, while for Customer purchase intentions, all the above-mentioned factors proved to impact significantly.","PeriodicalId":39427,"journal":{"name":"WSEAS Transactions on Business and Economics","volume":"121 50","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139615843","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, it confronts ongoing structural issues concerning sustainable development. Farm size, productivity and competitiveness, intensification of production, the efficiency of resource use, access to finance, modernization of the value chain (VC), implementation of technology and information, quality and food security, are considered some of the main challenges of this sector for our country. The digitalization of agriculture emerges as a crucial instrument in dealing with these challenges, through the use of technology and information systems as an important instrument for increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of the rural sector. In this context, this paper aims to examine the importance and level of application of digital technology along the value chain in the agricultural sector. In function of the purpose of the study, the questionnaire was designed to provide and collect information on the importance of the application of the digitalization of agriculture, through the use of technology and information systems by agricultural farms and farmers in our country. Based on the data on the dominant activities and the typology of the farms according to the regions, the study areas have been determined, respectively for the districts of Kukës, Gjirokastër, Fier, Berat, and Korçë. In total, 938 questionnaires were completed for the five respective districts, following the activities and typology of the respective farms. The variables were evaluated using the Likert scale (1-5), and data analysis was carried out through the SPSS program.","PeriodicalId":39427,"journal":{"name":"WSEAS Transactions on Business and Economics","volume":" 23","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139624088","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Additionally, as a result of the pandemic, it has reshaped consumer behavior, making people more hesitant to leave their homes to obtain the things they need. Therefore, the safest method for them is to shop online. Consequently, we need to assess and investigate the quality of Malaysian e-commerce that has the potential to influence a consumer’s intention to make an online purchase. This research topic represents a limited investigation into how the standard of e-commerce in Malaysia may impact consumer preferences regarding online shopping. As a consequence of this, the primary goal of this research is to conduct in-depth studies and future research on how e-commerce quality influences customers’ intentions to shift from traditional purchases to online ones. It is crucial to conduct further research and explore the intentions of Malaysians to gain a better understanding of customers’ motives for making purchases. To obtain respondent samples for the study, researchers employed non-probability sampling strategies such as convenience sampling and snowball sampling. In this study, we also used social media to distribute 384 different sets of online questionnaires to random respondents for data collection purposes. Approximately 350 valid responses were collected from Malaysians who had made online purchases and were under the age of 40 using an online Google form. Subsequently, the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software was utilized to analyse the gathered data. In the final phase of this study, researchers will summarise and outline all findings from each test. They will then use multiple regression analysis to determine whether each variable (service quality, information quality, e-trust, and performance expectation) significantly affects online purchase intentions.","PeriodicalId":39427,"journal":{"name":"WSEAS Transactions on Business and Economics","volume":" 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139624757","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

SmartPLS 3.0 was used to analyze the data to obtain the SEM model form and hypothesis outcomes. This study found that EE had an insignificant positive effect on OC, while EM had an insignificant negative effect on OC. This study also remarkably found that OC did not serve the role of mediating the relationship between EE on TI and EM on TI. However, the study has revealed that EM and OC have a significant negative effect on TI, while EE has a significant positive effect on TI. In conclusion, these existing results indicate that, besides these three variables, other variables may affect TI in FMCG industrial organizations.","PeriodicalId":39427,"journal":{"name":"WSEAS Transactions on Business and Economics","volume":"23 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139532743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
