Fathers focus more on their roles outside the home to fulfill their responsibilities. Thus fathers have limited time to interact with their children compared to mothers. In addition, as the heads of the family, fathers must maintain their figures, especially with their adolescent sons who are starting to get to know the wider environment. \u0000This study aims to investigate how fathers use impression management in their interactions with their adolescent sons. \u0000Study design: A study with a subjective interpretation approach was carried out to understand in depth how impression management by fathers is a form of communication that can build interpersonal relationships with their adolescent sons. \u0000Place and Duration of Study: This study was carried out in Indonesia, from December 2022 to June 2023. \u0000Methodology: In-depth interviews were conducted with 7 pairs of fathers (aged 38 to 50 years) and sons (aged 12 to 15 years) who each attended private schools in 7 major cities in Indonesia. \u0000Results: Fathers do impression management when interacting with their adolescent sons to maintain their self-image. Fathers manage self-impression as a figure that must be respected through creating a respected image, having similar interests in gender and role models. The implication is that fathers when communicating with their adolescent sons, tend to maintain a quiet condition and create an atmosphere where their adolescent sons should have the same attitude as them. This causes discomfort for their adolescent sons so they prefer to communicate with other people rather than with their fathers. \u0000Conclusion: Impression management becomes a communication gap, which in turn creates a distance in father-son relationships.","PeriodicalId":394178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122495106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since the emergence of human beings, the natural environment has been the source of human survival, development and innovation. Through combing ancient literature records and investigating and analyzing the cultural characteristics of China's different geographic environments, we attempt to discover the intrinsic roots of nature and culture. The relationship between human beings and nature also changes with the development of the times. From adapting to nature, utilizing nature, transforming nature, and then feeding nature, reshaping nature and protecting nature, it is not only a process of harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature, but also a process of creating culture, forming rich and distinctive cultural types and forms. Mountains, rivers, forests, farmlands, lakes, grasslands, deserts and human beings are interdependent and closely related to a community of life. In order to adapt to the different environments of mountains, rivers, forests, farmlands, lakes, grasslands and deserts, human beings have adopted different ways of living, production and life, and formed natural cultures of \" Each place has its way of supporting its inhabitants\". The cultures originating from nature are the ways of getting along with nature gradually formed in the harmonious coexistence between man and nature. They are also the excellent culture that we need to inherit and carry forward in the modern construction of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.","PeriodicalId":394178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122851744","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Healthcare systems worldwide, including the Philippines, struggle to cope with rising cancer patient mortality. Urgent action and innovative solutions are vital to managing cancer care amidst the ongoing pandemic. Hence, this study explored the journey of adolescent cancer patients who are receiving treatment during the pandemic particularly the present challenges with cancer treatment, its holistic repercussions, the patient's coping mechanisms, and their significant life breakthroughs. It employed a qualitative multiple-case study, utilizing semi-structured interviews to collect data from four (4) pediatric hematology-oncology cases. The data was analyzed using content analysis wherein the narratives of the participants were compared. The findings of the study revealed themes that represent the challenges experienced by cancer patients namely, (1) treatment and other medical services disruption; (2) reduced social support; and (3) increased contamination-related anxieties. The immediate repercussions included (1) psychological disturbance, stress, and depression; (2) uncertainty and emotional distress; (3) stronger behavioral adherence to COVID-19 prevention measures; (4) increased gadget usage/gadget dependence, and (5) decreased scholastic involvement. Further, the participants’ coping mechanisms include (1) active coping strategies via engaging activities; (2) awareness and acceptance of the current situation; (3) strong social and spiritual support, and (4) positive and active mind setting. The insights gathered from the analysis are (1) the need for better access to cancer-related services and assistance, and (2) the call for more psychological health intervention programs. The findings showed that the insights and realizations of participants emphasized the need for better access to cancer-related services and assistance and a calling for psycho-oncological therapeutic interventions for fellow cancer patients.","PeriodicalId":394178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128713310","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to determine the frequency of transformative leadership as experienced by educators in four government schools servicing the Phuenthsoling Municipality of Chukha, Bhutan, this research will look at the prevalence of such leadership. There were a total of 138 participants in this quantitative study, 134 of them were faculty members from four Government-funded institutions. Principals may better shape their mindsets and guide their schools to success with the guidance of transformational leadership. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to learn how often principals exhibit transformational leadership behaviours in the course of their regular administrative duties. \u0000The findings showed that school administrators demonstrated high levels of idealised influence, motivating inspiration, personalised concern, and intellectual stimulation. \u0000The results revealed that the principals of the four schools studied used transformational leadership strategies to a significant degree. \u0000This study will help further the growth of an institution by persuading current principals to adopt a transformational leadership style that will increase academic staff commitment and ultimately the institution's efficiency and longevity.","PeriodicalId":394178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133379791","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study presents a case study for the application of the discrete Johnson systems of distribution approach for the analysis of secondary school teachers’ job satisfaction (JS). This new approach accommodates relative frequency behavioural patterns in the analysis of categorical data using the entropy measure of discrete Johnson systems of distribution (DJSD). The approach offers a better alternative to the existing chi-square and likelihood ratio tests because it captures more shared information compared to known measures of association. A focus on the JS of about 393 teachers, showed that above 60% of the teacher’s eventually developed job dissatisfaction induced psychiatric disorders before the end of their career. Further examples were used to illustrate the applicability of the approach and enhance its reproducibility.","PeriodicalId":394178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131972212","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article delved the sources/causes and conditions that make gender based violence more complex among women under ethnic conflicts. Based on this aim qualitative method is employed and data was collected from relevant primary and secondary sources through interview and systematic literatures review. The social-ecological model, which enables us to figure out how a complex interplay among individual, relational/interpersonal/ community, societal factors create and perpetuate violence is used to pinpoint the sources/causes of various forms and types of gender based violence and data analyzed through content analyzes method. Inter-sectionality theory was used as analytical framework. The result depicted that regardless of progress towards minimizing violence against women and girls under ethnic conflicts, the mechanism used to minimize gender based violence are principally focused on direct violence. The result indicated that multiple vulnerabilities related to gender and marginality of women make gender based violence more complex. Finally, it is undeniable that without tackling structural frameworks and systems of governments and norms of the society that neglect and challenge the security of women, GBV cannot be eliminated and/or diminished. Thus, it is recommended that the government should assure gender responsive institutions and security sectors.","PeriodicalId":394178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115778945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this paper is to examine the changes in their meaning according to context in which they are used – intellectual, artistic and social – and to the areas in which they appear, as well as the obvious or latent relation between them. Both the terms paidagogos and demiurgos are not one-dimensional in ancient Greek language. The semiotic tool of ambiguity, via the analysis of Jean Pierre Vernant and Page du Bois, tested through a contemporary phenomenological lens based on Merleau Ponty [2], will help us interpret the changes in their meaning, as well as the reasons why such changes may occur. In poetic, historical, political, pedagogical and other ancient texts, the terms paidagogos and demiurgos can refer to persons with very different functions and social status. The ambiguity and the reversal of the status of the demiurgos and, more clearly, of the paidagogos, appear in a far clearer way when they refer to persons (prosopa) of Greek drama, especially tragedies, like Sophocles’ Electra and Euripides’ Ion and The Heracleidae. The findings of such research will help us penetrate the philosophical and phenomenological discourse concerning education in ancient Greece, taking into account that some of the main educational questions raised in Greek antiquity still remain relevant today.","PeriodicalId":394178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130057460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
