The study, using the data from the Youth Integrity Assessment (YIA) 2022 conducted by the Anti-Corruption Commission of Bhutan (ACC) found that factors, such as, positive social influence, being accountable for one’s actions, and believing in ethical conduct formed the prerequisite conditions for leading a successful life. Hence, these critical factors significantly engendered positive values in the youths. Moreover, having an Integrity Club in the schools made a positive influence on the youths particularly in understanding the ethical way of living. Also, in general, the females and the mature youths in the schools with Integrity Club portrayed of possessing more values in comparison to the youths in the schools without Integrity Club. Adapting the Social Cognitive Career Theory, this research aimed to delineate the factors influencing the career aspirations of primary school students in their final and penultimate years in Ibadan. Data were amassed via unstructured yet in-depth interviews with 48 pupils, who were chosen using a multi-stage sampling method from two distinct local government areas within Ibadan. Subsequent to collection, the data underwent transcription, coding, and thematic analysis. The study highlighted the prevalence of gender-stereotyped career choices. The research identified that environmental factors exert varying degrees of influence on the pupils' career aspirations, whereas perceived academic capabilities play a pivotal role in shaping these aspirations. Based on these findings, it is recommended to incorporate comprehensive career guidance and development programs within the primary education curriculum in Ibadan.","PeriodicalId":394178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":"51 44","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140701170","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Art education belongs to the category of aesthetic education and is an important content and way to implement aesthetic education. Music education is a form of education with music art as the medium and aesthetics as the core. In October, 2020, the general offices of the General Office of the Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council issued the Opinions on Comprehensively Strengthening and Improving Aesthetic Education in Schools in the New Era, which put forward the requirement of bringing art subjects into the pilot reform of senior high school entrance examination. The implementation of the new policy of \"art entering the senior high school entrance examination\" is a brand-new challenge to junior high school music teaching. In order to better implement the policy of \"art entering the senior high school entrance examination\", it is necessary to understand the current situation of junior high school music teaching. In this study, 241 junior high school students in four middle schools in Dejiang County, Guizhou Province were investigated from three aspects: their attitude towards music, the basic reasons for liking music and the mastery of basic music skills, and then the data were statistically analyzed by Excel and SPSS software. Based on the analysis results of the previous part, combined with the requirements of \"Art Entrance Examination\", this paper puts forward that we should pay more attention to music courses, enrich the content of music courses and strengthen the teaching of basic music knowledge.","PeriodicalId":394178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":"57 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140724832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, this study investigates the effect of viewing of captioned and subtitled TV series in promoting vocabulary learning among EFL learners in Saudi Arabia, it also investigates the effect of the type of the on-screen text (whether English or Arabic) and proficiency level in gaining vocabulary. Data for this study were collected using a quantitative experimental approach. A total of 19 intermediate Saudi female learners participated in this study, they were assigned randomly into two different groups: captions group and subtitles group, both groups were viewing two episodes of a TV series. A pre and post-tests were administered to measure form recall and meaning recall gains of vocabulary. Results showed that the audio-visual input helped participants learn vocabulary in terms of meaning recall and form recall for both groups however the relative gains were found to be comparatively more in the captions group in terms of form recall with no statistically significant difference. With the meaning recall, the subtitles groups showed comparatively higher relative gains without any statistical significance. The relative gains were comparatively higher among students with B2 proficiency than those with A2 in both meaning recall and form recall, irrespective of the groups (p>0.05). The analysis also showed no effect of language of the on-screen text on either form or meaning recall. Taken together, these results suggest that audio-visual materials may aid students in learning and developing new vocabulary in EFL classrooms. Teachers can utilize them to supplement pupils' lack of vocabulary along with their textbooks by piquing their interest and stimulating their curiosity.","PeriodicalId":394178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":"20 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140744059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study seeks to examine why in Ghanaian football, participants such as administrators, players and supporters spend much time and money on religious rituals and practices towards achieving success. The paper discovers that religion plays a substantial role in Ghanaian football and it is difficult to take away the religious elements from Ghanaian football, due to the benefits football participants derive from their religious activities. Nonetheless, the study indicates that success of football does not only depend on religion but also on training, discipline and commitment to the game.","PeriodicalId":394178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":"7 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140747807","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Given the unavailability of data for some countries, only data from 10 countries could be collected over the period 2001-2019. The methodology we used is based essentially on the gravity model, a model whose use in international trade is widely justified with solid theoretical foundations.  The method for calculating countries' trade potential is inspired by the work of Ghazi, T. and Msadfa, Y. (2016). The results obtained show that Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire top the ranking, respectively 1st and 2nd, of countries whose trade potential is best exploited. In 2001, Ghana ranked 4th and Senegal 3rd, but in the years since, Ghana has improved its position and Senegal has regressed. Countries such as Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger saw their trade potential increase between 2001 and 2019. In contrast, countries such as Guinea and Benin regressed over this period. These results call on the authorities to encourage the relevant economic policies taken for countries that have seen an improvement in their trade potential. On the other hand, countries with slow or low levels of progress need to be supported by effective development programs to improve their position.","PeriodicalId":394178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science","volume":"63 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138967141","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
