In particular, resistance of bacterial pathogens to current antibiotics has emerged as a measure of health problems. This is especially true in the case of infectious diseases such as pneumonia, meningitis and tuberculosis, which would once have been easily treated with antibiotics, is no longer so readily treated. At present, all widely used antibiotic, including some of the agent such as streptogramins and new generation fluoroquinolones are subjected to bacterial resistance. The search for new antimicrobial agent is one of the most challenging tasks to the medicinal chemist. A search for new antimicrobial compounds with potent and minor toxicity continues to be a region of exploration in medicinal chemistry. It has been well recognized that nitrogen containing heterocyclic molecule is a seat of diverse medicinal activities. Heterocyclic nucleus Pyrazole constitutes an important class of compounds for new drug development. The synthesis of these derivatives and investigation of their chemical and biological behavior have gained more importance in recent decades. Owing to the pharmacological importance of Pyrazole, and its derivatives, in the present work, it has been contemplated to combine various biologically active moieties with these heterocycles through active functional systems to form new molecular framework. Prompted by the therapeutic importance of these heterocyclic derivatives, in the present research work we have synthesized Pyrazole with fluorinated aromatic rings, and its derivatives through multistep reaction. Appropriate synthetic methodologies have been developed for the synthesis of new molecules. Their purification techniques have been established. All the newly synthesized compounds have been characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, mass spectral, IR and elemental analyses. Also structures of a few molecules have been confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis. Further, the target molecules have been evaluated for their in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activity. From the pharmacological evaluation, it has been observed that some of Pyrazole, derivatives showed good antimicrobial activity","PeriodicalId":394015,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pharmaceutical Research Science & Technology","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124770163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is widely obtained from vanilla bean-pods amongst very many other sources. This compound and some of its derivatives possess diverse activities including anticancer, anti- inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial and antifungal amongst others. Hence, the import of this study. Objectives: The growing concerns about the deleterious actions of free radical oxygenated species (FROS) in the human body have become a huge concern to the scientific world. These chemical species continually devastate the human cells, tissues and organs leading to different pathophysiological conditions and neurodegenerative disorders. Also, the noticeable microbial resistance to antibiotics and antifungal drugs have prompted the search for lead compound(s) with the aim of chemically modifying its/their molecular structure(s) or synthesizing other compounds from reactions involving them such as Schiff base synthesis. The search for novel pharmaceutically active compounds with the aim of ameliorating these conditions led to the choice of vanillin. Methodology: Vanillin was subjected to the Schiff base synthesis. It was reacted separately with amines (aromatic and aliphatic amine) leading to the bases in the presence of acid. The melting points, refractive indices and optical rotations of the vanillin and the Schiff bases were obtained. The antioxidant activity (IC50) of the lead compound and bases was determined employing the DPPH (2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl hydrate) bench-top assay test. Comparison of the obtained antioxidant activities was done to determine if any improvements could be noticed in the synthesized bases. Also, the agar-in-hole diffusion method was adopted for screening vanillin and the synthesized bases against Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeriginosa and Candida albicans for antibacterial and antifungal activities respectively. Results: The identities of the synthesized Schiff bases have been revealed to be vanillyl butyl imine (W) a new ketimine referred to by the trivial name- Walatimine and vanillin-2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazone (Vdnp) respectivelyusing a combination of physico-chemical determinations and IR spectral technique. Vanillin and (W) demonstrated marginal antioxidant activity of IC50 of 0.52 and 0.50 μg/mL respectively while Vdnp gave a remarkably significant IC50 of 0.48 and which compare favourably with 0.46 μg/mL elicited by Vitamin C (a standard antioxidant drug). The antibacterial and antifungal activities elicited by both W and Vdnp were concentration dependent. Furthermore, Vdnp was comparably more bacteriostatic than W against the test bacteria though it was inactive against Ps. aeriginosa. However, vanillyl butyl imine (W) was slightly more anti-candidal against C. albicans than vanillin-2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazone (Vdnp). Conclusion: The results from this study indicate th","PeriodicalId":394015,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pharmaceutical Research Science & Technology","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128097237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among the 4 different types of rosacea, this research work aims to develop a user-friendly symptomatic treatment for the types which affect the facial skin. The peel off mask was formulated using 4%, 6%, 8%, 10% and 12% polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as a gelling agent and the main ingredient was chamomile oil. Evaluation of peel off mask included physical characteristics (organoleptic properties, homogeneity, viscosity, spreadability, film drying time), chemical characteristics (pH value), stability and antimicrobial activity. The variation in PVA affects the pH value, viscosity and film drying time significantly. Stability test showed that all peel off mask show no significant changes at room temperature with and without exposure to sunlight and at low temperature. The peel off mask containing chamomile oil using 10% PVA has the inhibitory effect against bacteria (S. aureus, E. coli) and fungi (C. albicans) as compared with the positive controls (clindamycin gel, gentamycin and clotrimazole gel). Variation in the concentration of PVA in the formula affected the physical, chemical characteristic and antimicrobial activity of the chamomile oil peel off gel face mask significantly. The preparation using 10% PVA was found to be the best formula with optimal results and better antimicrobial action","PeriodicalId":394015,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pharmaceutical Research Science & Technology","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125779006","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Overweight or obesity is mostly found in people with predominantly Kapha-type constitutions. According to Acharya Charak, apart from the genetic factors, diet (like shleshmakar, abhishayandi) & lifestyle (like avyayam, divaswapna) are the main contributing factors in the aetiopathogenesis of Medoroga. As per previous study Lekhana Basti was found to have moderate results in obesity. Pippalyadi has Chitraka and Pippali in addition to the other components of Lekahan basti so could have better results in correcting the vitiated Agni. Therefore, Pippalyadi basti is chosen for the current study. Objectives: • To evaluate efficacy of Pippalyadi Basti in the management of Medoroga. • To compare the efficacy with Lekhana Basti • Conceptual study of Medoroga in Ayurvedic texts and Obesity in modern medicine. • Effect of Pippalyadi Basti & Lekhan Basti on B.M.I. Methodology: D.Y. Patil Ayurved Hospital, Samhitas & modern books of medicine, Pharmacy attached to college for the preparations of the drugs, international & national medical journals and magazines, OPD, IPD , Labs , other provisions of the hospitals will be availed to do this intended work. The mucilage also exhibited efficient activity necessary for the augmentation of almost all strains of lactobacilli. In vitro studies also exhibited that lactobacilli amount was at par to standard prebiotics (p<0.05) in the medium supplemented with the mucilage. The study led to conclude that the seed mucilage of Lepidium sativum exhibits efficient prebiotic activity and thereby can be used as a potential functional nutraceutical supplement.","PeriodicalId":394015,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pharmaceutical Research Science & Technology","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123282874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
