However, further study on the degradation mechanism and the influencing factors of liquid silicone rubber is still required. Especially when it is used in southern parts of China, of which the high temperature and humidity environment could accelerate the degradation process. It is reported that cracking and chalking phenomena were observed on the liquid silicone rubber sheath of PT and CT. In this paper, a series of ageing experiments were designed and carried out to test the performance of liquid silicone rubber when exposed to factors such as high temperature, high humidity, sun exposure and corona discharge. After the experiments, characteristics such as hardness, hydrophobicity, glossiness and mechanical properties were tested and SEM was used to study the change of micro structure. It is concluded that high temperature, high humidity and sun exposure play significant roles in the degradation of liquid silicone rubber, which could lead to the rise of hardness, loss of hydrophobicity, decrease of glossiness and surface cracking. The results also show that the change of mechanical properties of liquid silicone rubber were tiny.","PeriodicalId":393969,"journal":{"name":"2013 Annual Report Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122265207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The corona discharge of high voltage transmission lines, results in power loss, radio interference and audible noise, which become more serious at the high altitudes. Besides, it has a great influence on the safe and robust operation of high voltage apparatus. A study carried out in the chamber made of perspex, was that AC corona characteristics varied with air pressure and humidity through the rod plane electrodes. The experiments showed that the inception voltage of AC corona was reduced with air pressure decreasing or humidity increasing. Meanwhile, the amplitude - phase distribution of AC corona pulse was displayed under different air pressure and humidity. Under low humidity (RH=25% or 55%), the streamer pulses only appear in the rise edge of positive half cycle, and the number of streamer pulses is few. The negative streamer pulses occur around the peak value of the negative half cycle. The streamer pulses appear in the rise and fall edge of positive half cycle at the same time with high humidity (RH=85%), and the number of streamer pulses increases obviously. When the humidity is higher (RH=95%), the streamer pulses appear only in the fall edge of positive half cycle. Furthermore, the negative streamer pulses around the peak of the negative half cycle also disappear.","PeriodicalId":393969,"journal":{"name":"2013 Annual Report Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena","volume":"148 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127153535","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The degree of polymerization (DP) and furfural in oil were measured during the aging process, and the influence of changes in the degree of polymerization on the second-order kinetics model parameters were verified under the condition of moisture and oxygen. Experimental results indicate that: the phenomenon of accelerated aging under the effect of moisture and temperature is obvious, there is an antagonistic effect between water and oxygen with low moisture content. Oxygen in oil will prevents the interaction of water and cellulose, and with the increase of the oxygen content it will become more and more obvious, thereby the rate of aging of the insulating paper will be reduced; Moisture and oxygen content and the type of insulation paper will affect furfural variation tendency during the aging process.","PeriodicalId":393969,"journal":{"name":"2013 Annual Report Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena","volume":"112 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124119702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After nanocomposite had been exposed for a week under the 40% relative humidity conditions, the improved space charge property of the composite at high electric field above 20kV/mm, were decreased obviously compare to dry MgO/LDPE. In this paper, the pollution level of two aged insulators namely the longrod silicon rubber and the cap-and-pin glass insulators are measured. The results from the measurement shows that the Equivalent Salt Deposit Density (ESDD) of the cap-and-pin glass insulator, particularly near the pin is found to be 0.169 mg/cm2 while the composition over the cap surface is 0.136 mg/cm2. For the case of longrod silicon rubber insulator, the ESDD for both the pin and the cap are found to be 0.063 mg/cm2 and 0.016 mg/cm2 respectively. The outcomes from the ESDD measurements suggest that the cap-and-pin glass insulator string is severely contaminated with salt spray as compared to the longrod silicon rubber. Furthermore, a mathematical model of ESDD expressed in terms of salinity and temperature for both insulators is derived from multivariable regression method. The coefficients for both the cap-and-pin glass and longrod silicon rubber insulator are found to be 0.9984 and 0.9867 respectively.","PeriodicalId":393969,"journal":{"name":"2013 Annual Report Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena","volume":"1993 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131004833","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The electrical performance of the enamel insulation could be adversely affected by this mechanical strain. Partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV) is a useful tool for comparing the performance of insulations. Therefore, PDIV tests along with breakdown voltage tests were performed for evaluating the effect of different levels of tensile-strain on the electrical properties of the enamel insulation of the copper conductor. In a previous work the enamel insulation was tested between two parallel-plate electrodes. But the dielectric loss caused by water tree is obvious at a very low frequency due to the long-time polarization of internal space charge. In this paper, focused on the dielectric response of cables, the dielectric loss spectrum of cable samples is also calculated by employing the extended Debye approach. Then the results are compared to measurements of dissipation factor (tan δ) at different frequencies by IDAX206, which shows that the aged cable has higher values of dielectric loss than a new one. CaCu3Ti4O12 ceramics of various Si-doping concentrations were synthesized by solid state reaction method at 1050 C.
