The authors prove that Leo Tolstoy relates the life of his characters with the dates of the Christian calendar and the Biblical numerical symbolism that perform a prospective function. The appeal of Tolstoy to the Christian calendar is aimed at the proof of the New Testament’s salvation. The absence of the dates of the Christian calendar is not an indicator of the unjust life of his characters, but usually it reflects their moral and physical death. In Tolstoy’s short stories the Christian calendar “helps” his characters to start living according to the Gospel. The oblivion of religious holidays by Tolstoy’s characters is an additional charge of people immorality. The pointing at the dates of the Christian calendar does not change the fate of Tolstoy’s characters for which the material comfort or the voice of the flesh is the most important. The beginning of Tolstoy’s characters enlightenment is predetermined by several of the Twelve Great Feasts. Plekhanov on the future of mankind still evokes undoubted interest. As an encyclopedic personality himself, he brought up a large pleiad of brilliant minds who successfully represented Russia in various fields of knowledge economics, philosophy, literature and art. And now, in the modern world, his ideas do not age. In this regard, the purpose of the study is to analyze the life of the great man, his views, doubts, throwing, position. The main methods of research are the method of scientific abstraction, system analysis, deduction, the method of information structuring, the analysis of archival materials. The pedigree of the Plekhanov family is represented, the three stages of the Plekhanov’s path as a political figure are traced, Plekhanov's views on the development of social and political thought are examined. Plekhanov’s articles, as well as his actions, have always been vigorously discussed. He was fond of the ideas of Narodism, but there was a split among the Narodniks. After reading the Manifesto of the Communist Party, he was carried away by Marxism and abandoned the ideas of populism. He began to cooperate with Lenin, but the disagreements between them led Plekhanov to the side of the Mensheviks. In Plekhanov’s works, undoubtedly, there is something that is considered valuable and durable, and views on the future of a wise, highly educated and just man can be traced. The first is the idea of intrinsic value of the individual, the recognition of human rights and freedoms. The second is the idea of respect for traditions, the past, and countering various innovations and changes. The third is the idea of value of the nation as the highest form of social unity. The fourth is the idea of social justice and equality, when the interests of society are above all. The fifth is the idea of national and racial superiority, heroism, and power cult. The dependent (interval) parameters are as follows: interest in politics; attitude to the United Russia party; attitude to V.V. Putin; attitude to D. A. Medvedev; dissatisfaction with the results of voting in the elections to the RF State Duma; satisfaction with the results of voting in the Russian Federation presidential elections; age; attitude to M.D. Prokhorov; attitude to A.A. Navalny; subjective assessment of their financial situation. A new version of authorial method is applied to analyze cause and effect relation in parallel for any interval and nominal variables. The inclusiveness in social networks leads to the change of educational and learning processes, changes the landscape of higher education. The purpose of the article is to discuss the opportunities for changes of the contemporary educational process in a university: the use of social networks and appliance of open educational resources as the response to the challenges of student media behavior. The results of the research show that a contemporary student spends the significant time on watching the content in social networks. The problem of higher education is in low appliance of social networks and onlineresources by teachers while students are ready to receive information through such a way. The peculiarity of these units is that, on the one hand, they have the main features of the sentence; on the other hand, they are characterized by phraseological nature. In their composition there are components of two types: constant, defining the construction itself and being the exponents of meaning and variable, the words of the categorematic parts of speech which are lexically free. Such a composition of syntactic idioms suggests that phraseological sentences are partially reproduced. The analysis of existing approaches to its understanding allows specifying a number of differential features as well as proposing a working definition of syntactic phraseology. One of the promising directions in this term is the use of a differentiated approach to the dosing of physical activity as an essential condition for the optimization of training process. This article highlights the content and results of practice-oriented research including the implementation of individualized planning of physical activity parameters for students on the basis of compliance with the physiological capabilities of organism in group training sessions with students of senior school age. The presented results of the correction of physical fitness of schoolchildren prove the effectiveness of the developed methodology and its health-related orientation, as evidenced by significant improvements in the indicators of the endurance control exercises which highly correlate with the health indicators. The term ‘linguistic capability’ (the Russian equivalent for ‘linguistic competence’) is offered to indicate the ability of an individual to verbalize the mental content of a language and to interpret a language sign. As substitution of this term, the term ‘communicative competence’ is offered; comparative analysis of modern approaches to determining a communicative competence and a linguistic capability (‘linguistic competence’) is made, and the history of the terms’ formation in science is considered. The conclusions made in the study have allowed us to consider the linguistic capability as a linguistic component of communicative competence; i.e., they have confirmed our assumption that these notions are not equivalent, and that mutual substitution of these terms is not relevant.
