But, there have been still no standardized criteria on evaluation of the operation level of the trainees, which can influence the training quality and the effectiveness of the evaluation results. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to establish an automatic assessment system for operations on marine simulator. Besides, the development of the modern marine simulators and computer technology makes it feasible. So, the general design idea of the automatic assessment system is proposed. And the automatic assessment of ship berthing operation was taken as a detailed research object. Its related assessment index system and model was established to lay foundation for the realization of the system for ship operation on marine simulator.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124831769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Meanwhile, average passenger trip distance are becoming much longer yearly. But not enough is known about passengers' performance and evaluation of the four typical long-distance travel modes, namely, HSR, ordinary train, plane and coach because previous studies have mainly focused on inner-city travel. In this paper, an evaluation index system was established, including safety, economy, efficiency, comfort and punctuality. The survey data were collected and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique was applied to investigate the transportation performances of the above four mode. The results revealed that ordinary train was the most competitive mode followed by HSR, coach and finally plane. Furthermore, the paper provides detailed findings and implications on the competitiveness of each mode over different attributes. This study may help the establishment of public transportation resource allocation and service market in the long-distance.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125541329","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To ensure the navigation safety and legal right of crew, it is of great necessity to re-evaluate the minimum safe manning standard of engine department in such area. By applying on board function model, the functions of engine department, which include sub-functions such as main engine operation, auxiliary equipment operation, general operation and daily management, are recognized. Based on statistics of questionnaires, the frequency of on board assignment, crew rank and time needed for completion of assignment are determined and based on which the number of manning of engine department are calculated with different levels. Then the manning standard of engine department in The Three Gorges Reservoir Area are obtained, such as ship with main engine power between 500kW and 1500kW and 10 hours or more continuous working time should be manned with one chief engineer, one second engineer, one third or fourth engineer and one oiler.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126430871","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When the airport capacity decreases, a formula which is used to compute the landing time of aircraft is given according to the rules of dynamic change of landing aircrafts' queue length. Secondly, the rules of dynamic change of departing aircrafts' queue length in the case of landing aircraft having higher priority according to the relation between departure capacity and arrival capacity are proposed. Then, the minimum of cost is selected as the goal to determine when and how many flights needed to be alternated according to the length of landing and departing aircraft queue. The method to choose optimum alternated route and flow chart to implement alternated strategy are also given. Finally, the simulation results show that the algorithm is feasible.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126516683","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An inland cruise ship is chosen as a research object, the wind loads on the ship including longitudinal and transverse forces and the yaw moment are calculated in wind angle of 0-180° by using CFD method, and then the numerical result is compared with those from empirical formula calculations such as Fujiware method, Blendermann method and Isherwood method. On this basis, the numerical flow field of the ship is analyzed. The result shows that wind load coefficients vary greatly with the coming wind angles; with the results from the four methods, it is concluded that the numerical calculations agree with Blendermann method very well, while Isherwood method has large discrepancy with the rest of the three methods. It should be mentioned that the wind moment could be obtained according to actual wind environment by using the method presented in this paper which could offer help for ship designing and stability assessing and the pressure distribution chart of the ship could provide reference for the optimal design of the superstructure of the ship by the CFD method used in this paper.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126072083","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a significant part of urban underground expressway, the entrance usually becomes the bottleneck. Improving the capacity and safety of the entrance is the key to improving the underground expressway efficiency and safety. Eight degrees of freedom driving simulator (Tongji University) is used as an analysis tool. Fifteen drivers participated in the real car experiment and driving simulator test. The speed at several characteristic sites was continuously recorded. Two Factor Analysis of Variance and ANOVA were utilized to analyze the data. The comparison of the results of the driving simulator study with those of the field study showed their reliability. The relative behavioral validity found in this study confirms that the driving simulator is a reliable tool for the analysis of driver behavior at the entrance of urban underground road.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127423297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A vehicle recognition system based on laser scanning point cloud data is designed in this paper. With this system we can accurately acquire 3D point cloud data of vehicles, and preprocess the point cloud original data with the methods including coordinate transformation and median filtering. On the basis of the traditional vehicle features, the variance of vehicle top height is proposed as a feature quantity of vehicle. In addition, we adopts GA-BP neural network as a vehicle type classifier and select appropriate parameters according to the optimal parameters Schaffer recommended such as mutation probability. By analyzing the experimental results, the chromosome fitness function is optimized for the purpose of accelerating the convergence speed of Genetic Algorithms. The result of experiments and its application indicates that these features and the optimized GA-BP neural network selected by this paper have advisable performance on different kinds of vehicle recognition.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130448259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
