Vessel traffic model is a nonlinear, uncertain and complex dynamics system, which hardly can be expressed using some precise mathematical models. Forecasting models all have limitations to reflect the overall traffic flow situations. This article introduces three single forecasting models of vessel traffic flow with RBF neural network, Grey forecasting and auto-regression. And then combining the three models with the support vector machine (SVM) is to make the combination forecasting. Based on the vessel traffic flow dates of the Yangtze River, the result of combination forecasting is as the final predicted value. Kinds of forecasting method fusion which are fit with the vessel traffic flow forecasting, can reduce the uncertainty of single prediction methods and increase the accuracy and robustness of the prediction.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114992336","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This will makes the average speed of vehicles reduce. Based on METANET model shows that this section can be equivalent to reducing lane bottleneck road, with traffic flow increases, the degree of congestion has catastrophe. The simulation by vissim and the data analysis by matlab shows that when less traffic on road, such bottlenecks have much smaller impact on traffic flows, and when traffic flow increases, this will cause serious traffic congestion suddenly. Meanwhile the bottleneck effect of steep uphill in tunnel has relationship with the proportion of vehicles which have significant reduction of the speed.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133356496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is very important to lay mattress in waterway to cure sediment and ensure the normal depth. However, due to the underwater flow speed, laying mattress is very difficult. The Mattress is often in offset position, and this could result in exposing riverbed and making waterway construction failed. It is necessary to study technologies for measuring the quality of mattress construction. But water in Yangtze River is turbidity, it is difficult to get accurate signal about the constructing under the water by using normal method. In this paper, a valid solution is proposed for this problem. water sink drain laying information is obtained by using side-scan sonar, and the images of mattress construction underwater is formed with these signal characteristics. Also an integrated management information system is designed to manage the mattress projects, construction units, the engineering vessels, testing procedure and test results. The application result shows that the relevant technology and management system proposed in this paper is effective.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132087542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A multi-body dynamic model of the slow-speed ship propulsion shafting system coupled with bearing hydrodynamic lubrication is built by Adams, Matlab and Ansys. The influence of hydrodynamic lubrication is mainly manifested in oil film pressure distribution and bearing reaction force. The oil film pressure distribution on the sliding bearing which is used to calculate the bearing reaction force is obtained based on the position and velocity of the shaft center by Matlab. The motion parameters of shaft center obtained from Adams verify the validity of simulation method and practicability of the model with hydro-bearings. By contracting with the simulation results of the bearing reaction forces, the simulation result obtained from the dynamic model of ship propulsion shafting coupled with bearing hydrodynamic lubrication is more reasonable which means it is necessary to consider the influence of oil film on simulation of ship propulsion shafting.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"140 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116805914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Light rail transit (LRT) and bus rapid transit (BRT) are often deemed as favorable alternatives, but there has been the debate about which one is more appropriate. The informed decision cannot be made without simultaneously considering the relative merits of LRT and BRT, local objectives, travel demand, available funding and others factors. To assist in decision making of choosing an appropriate HST solution for an urban city, this paper firstly conducted literature review to compare the key features of BRT and LRT. Their impacts on the decision-making process were also analyzed. Then the paper examined how the decision was made in two selected cities: Guangzhou and Ottawa. Finally, a step by step decision-making process for choosing an appropriate HST system was suggested. Two questions were answered in this paper: (1) what is involved in deciding the best solution? (2) How can the final decision be reached?","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"44 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124885569","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
