Proper utilization of renewable resources can uplift energy-deprived regions while also contributing to a nation's economic growth. However, effective system planning and resource assessment are essential for effective utilization. In that regard, the study proposes a hybrid microgrid design for a remote island in Bangladesh. The proposed system comprises solar photovoltaics, wind turbines, and lithium-ion battery storage which is coupled to the utility grid. For modeling and simulation of the optimal system design of the residential load in Urir char, Hybrid Optimization Multiple Energy Resources (HOMER) pro was utilized. The load profile for the system was created employing fuzzy logic and random probability, as well as meteorological data for the chosen location. Several instances with reliability factors such as short-term and long-term interruptions are also taken into consideration in the design. Additionally, the paper discussed a comparison between the proposed system and other considered scenarios as well as the utility grid. The proposed system is a viable approach for providing cleaner energy for the selected area in regards to energy cost (0.035$/kWh), a renewable fraction (90%), emission reduction (78%), and reliability.","PeriodicalId":389360,"journal":{"name":"2023 3rd International Conference on Robotics, Electrical and Signal Processing Techniques (ICREST)","volume":"202 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121092304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The designed UPQC has two active power filters (APF) in shunt and series combinations. PWM (pulse width modulation) and hysteresis controls are the two control mechanisms used in this study. To reduce harmonics, a direct-quadrature zero (dq0) conversion is performed. In case 1, for a single-bus system, the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the source current in the system without UPQC was 22.22%. After applying the designed method, THD has been reduced significantly to 2.68%. In case 2, for multi-bus systems, the THD was 20.62% and 5.05% with and without the UPQC, respectively. Here the THD in the grid input voltage was 20.62%, whereas the output voltage was 0.80%. It is visible that the processor speed in the last decade has not improved and saturated around 2 GHz to 5 GHz. Researchers believe that brain-inspired computing has great potential to resolve these problems. The spiking neural network (SNN) exhibits excellent power performance compared to the conventional design. However, we identified several key challenges to implementing large-scale neural networks (NNs) on silicon, such as nonexistent automated tools and requirements of many-domain expertise, and existing algorithms can not partition and place large-scale SNN computation efficiently on the hardware. In this research, we propose to develop an automated tool flow that can convert any NN to an SNN. In this process, we will develop a novel graph-partitioning algorithm and place SNN on a network-on-chip (NoC) to enable future energy-efficient and high-performance computing.","PeriodicalId":389360,"journal":{"name":"2023 3rd International Conference on Robotics, Electrical and Signal Processing Techniques (ICREST)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124965591","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But the sudden energy crisis and the increased price of fossil fuels have forced the authorities to shed some & even total load in those areas where the economic return is not feasible. Consequently, people of such places are back to getting electricity through diesel generators, which are not economically viable and environmentally unfriendly. Nijhum Dwip is one such places. This study proposes a renewable resources hybrid model alternative focusing on a community of 50 households using HOMER software. The model consists of a battery, converter, diesel generator, and solar PV system along with a wind turbine & it aims to satisfy the demand of 48.33 KWh/d primary load and 7.37 KW peak load. The design of an electrically driven Solar PV Operated E-Power tiller has three primary purposes, the first of which is to reduce the quantity of fuel used; the second of which is to maintain a pollution-free environment, and the third of which is to avoid a price increase. The results of this study will also help in the development of a prototype for a portable charging station, which will be put to use in order to keep the tractor's battery charged. In order to carry out this project, two brushless DC (BLDC) motors, each of which has 1.34 horsepower, were used. A lithium-ion battery served as the only source of power for the motors. In full running condition, the battery can provide backup for up to 5 hours. The speed of the shaft on the power tiller cultivator is 339.23 rpm. This system is equipped with the necessary brakes, steering controls, and controls for the pace at which the cultivator blades rotate. Both the structural design of this and the simulation of the system were done in MATLAB Simulink. Solidworks was used for the structural design. The robot has the capability to detect and capture a picture of a human face, convert the image to a sketch in the form of a series of lines, and physically draw the image on a whiteboard. Additionally, the robot can draw any selected image stored on the main computer, apply or remove shading from the image, move to a specified location away from the sketch to provide a clear area for the user to erase the board, and can draw diagnostic test rectangles to analyze the mechanical performance of the system. These robotic functions were implemented by first determining the angles and geometry of the arms required to locate a given x-y coordinatepoint. This was done using properties of triangles, as well as the known physical limitations of the pantograph's size. A CAD model of the design was created to incorporate both the calculated geometry and purchased parts, such as the servo motors, axles, and bearings. Existing open-source libraries were used to aid in facial recognition and the conversion of images to a sketch of x-y points. By utilizing the known geometry of the robot, the pen was programmed to move to specified points based on the angles of the two servo motors.","PeriodicalId":389360,"journal":{"name":"2023 3rd International Conference on Robotics, Electrical and Signal Processing Techniques (ICREST)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114467972","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
