Currently, customers understand that these brands are valuable price/quality options and have a preference for them. The increased competition among distribution companies have forced retailers to increasingly introduce sustainable practices, including in own brands. This paper analyses the corporate social responsibility (CSR) communication through the packaging of retailers’ products. Following a content analysis of 377 packages of private labels from seven retail chains in Portugal, the authors concluded that there is CSR information in packages disclosing a variety of themes. A survey to 539 consumer indicate that consumer perceptions of CSR in packages correspond to the issues most valued. Health topics and national origin are better perceived and valued, even when they are not the most prevalent themes in packages. Environmental signals are lower perceived and valued, even when a similar or higher prevalence in packages.","PeriodicalId":38556,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social Ecology and Sustainable Development","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70469457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present research embarks to contemplate the circular bio-economy applying managerial approach by splitting the complicated abstraction into a more straightforward structure using VOS Viewer software. Nine determining elements backed by organizational vantage point are extracted - industrial symbiosis, sustainable transitions, multilevel perspective, bio-economic regions, governance, innovations, challenges, sustainability and regional value chains. All nine elements retrieved from the literature are ranked based on expert opinion. Eventually, variable CER6 (challenges) ranked first in the order, followed by CER1 (sustainable transitions); the least relevant variable ranked by the experts is CER9 (industrial symbiosis). For better validation, the TISM technique is used. These pressing issues demand immediate attention from practitioners, entrepreneurs, policy-makers, academicians, and management scholars.","PeriodicalId":38556,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social Ecology and Sustainable Development","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70469976","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To fulfill this requirement, there are many HR practices used by these companies to increase their employee output. This study is based on studying about the small firms nature because these types of companies are generally choosing the practices without considering their suitability with respect to their company’s environment. Selecting the right and application of the right concept is missing in these companies and to resolve this problem the researcher is trying to represent the good and bad sides of applying the HR practices with a blend of customization concept. The researcher generated the conceptual models to represent the results in the concise way for a systematic application and utilization of HR practices in these firms. Consumers have become more observant towards the consumption related environmental problems and it influences their purchase decisions. There is a link between the consumer concern for the environment and also their knowledge levels about the environment friendly products. While most of the studies agree that environmental knowledge and environmental concern as the prime factors, how consumers gain this knowledge and concern was not adequately explained. Based on the literature survey a conceptual model was designed and a structured closed ended questionnaire was used to collect the responses from 309 respondents, the measurement scales were borrowed from the existing literature. The results show that those consumers possessing a high intensity of environmental knowledge and peer influence to encourage them to have stronger intentions to become sustainable conscious customers.","PeriodicalId":38556,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social Ecology and Sustainable Development","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70469674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to electricity theft, distribution companies are facing lots of T&D losses every year. Despite of several technical measures adopted, there is no significant reduction in losses due to electricity theft. This fact diverts the attention towards non-technical measures which include formulation and enforcement of stringent rules and regulations. As the policies need to be enforced on electricity customers, therefore, policies should be designed in accordance with the customers’ attitude towards electricity theft. Therefore, this work has analyzed their attitude towards role of certain socio-economic factors which strongly impact the practice of electricity theft. This study has surveyed the electricity customers of two distribution companies, UHBVN and DHBVN in State Haryana. The findings of this work may help the electricity distribution companies to chalk out better and more effective plans to put check upon the practice of electricity theft in the society.","PeriodicalId":38556,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social Ecology and Sustainable Development","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70470370","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, innovative projects developed by governments, private sector, and civil society present themselves as an opportunity to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 on sustainable development. This study uses the Observatory of Public Sector Innovation promoted by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development to explore how innovative projects address the 17 sustainable development goals. The Portuguese context is used to qualitatively characterize this phenomenon. The findings reveal that these projects also offer relevant contributions in areas such as public infrastructure support, health promotion, quality of education, and reduced inequalities.","PeriodicalId":38556,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social Ecology and Sustainable Development","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49366660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
