It is now used as a strategy for governing Western societies, particularly the United States, where people are forced to live with historical prejudices against Islam and Muslims. The nature of this animosity points to a new form of Islamophobia, which, like the old one, appears in discourses and practices alike. This study aims to ascertain how Islamophobia manifests as new Islamophobia in the modern West. It investigates the presence of this phenomenon in US media discourse using the theoretical framework of securitization. The researchers employed an analytical framework adapted from Discourse-Historical-Approach and studied 3153 news and opinion pieces from US newspapers and wire services between November 2016 and January 2017. This study has revealed an Islamophobic society where Muslims were the targets of hate crimes due to their Islamic identity. It has been found that Trump's anti-Islamic rhetoric during his presidential campaign contributed to the emergence of this new societal syndrome. It concludes that \"neo-Islamophobia\" is a name for a new style of governance adopted by some Western politicians who capitalize on Islamophobia as a political strategy to gain power, thereby shaping the existing social order into an Islamophobic one. The researchers recommend similar inquiries into other contexts too.","PeriodicalId":38540,"journal":{"name":"Hamdard Islamicus","volume":"231 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87035842","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

That is because Isra’iliyyat provide detailed information of the past Prophets (‘Alaihim As-Salam) in the Holy Qur’an. Since biblical reports can range from sound to weak and even baseless in strengths, the Quranic interpreters have diverse stance regarding their acceptance. The prime purpose of this study is to explore the stance of Sayyid Mawdudi towards biblical reports. Sayyid Mawdudi had a balanced approach to it. He did not reject it outright; nor did he accept it totally without examination. He remained extremely cautious in dealing with it. He clearly identifies the similarities and differences between the Holy Qur’an and the biblical reports; and in case of differences existing, decides on reports to be accepted. The study followed a textual analytical method to deal with the biblical reports quoted by Sayyid Mawdudi in his Tafsir. It also used the original biblical reports from the Bible’s New International Version, ‘Al-Kitab al-Muqaddas’ in Arabic, the Talmud and the Jewish Encyclopaedia to refer to the original sources of biblical reports and their own explanation of it. The study concluded that the biblical reports are indispensable parts of the interpretation of the Holy Qur’an. They should not be rejected outright, nor should they be accepted without thorough investigation. When compared to all contemporary and traditional scholars, it is found that Sayyid Mawdudi had an ideal stance towards biblical reports.","PeriodicalId":38540,"journal":{"name":"Hamdard Islamicus","volume":"50 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81166193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some accuse him of being responsible for the decline of the Islamic civilization, while others regard him as very influential in making the so-called Islamic rationalism. This paper aims to challenge the above two assumptions respectively through in-depth reading and analysis of the major works of each proponent. It is concluded that current studies on Al-Ghazalī in Indonesia have not moved on from the old-fashion studies, which portray him negatively. However, his thought is very significant in directing discourses on theology and Sufism in Indonesia.","PeriodicalId":38540,"journal":{"name":"Hamdard Islamicus","volume":"69 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83880268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The teachings of Islam, as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (×aÌrat Muhammad RasËlullah KhÉtam un NabiyyÊn Øallallahu ‘alaihi wa ‘alÉ Ólihi wa AÎÍÉbihi wa Øallam) provide complete guidance for attaining success and glory in this world and the hereafter. As a comprehensive way of life, Islam encompasses a unique socio-economic and political system. It deals with all private and public life aspects and local and international affairs. However, the status and treatment of minorities in Muslim societies (especially in the context of Islamic law) have been of special concern to Muslim and non-Muslim scholars alike. It has also been a much-debated subject among Orientalists, who have created many misinterpretations regarding it. In light of these problems, this paper has attempted to establish a discourse on a three-fold level: it has argued that laws about minorities in Islam are based on the concept of justice, how these laws are significant in the emancipation of humanity in general, and the minorities (non-Muslims living in an Islamic state) in particular has been highlighted; and the relevant Quranic verses, Prophetic traditions, and, the Muslim statesmen’s practices and juristic views regulating the principles of how Muslims are supposed to interact with non-Muslims have been examined as well. To achieve these objectives, descriptive, analytical, and exploratory methods have been followed throughout the paper.","PeriodicalId":38540,"journal":{"name":"Hamdard Islamicus","volume":"194 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73610185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, little research has been conducted to understand the execution processes of Islamic governance in Türkiye from a genuine administrative perspective. This research tries to fill this gap. For this purpose, it discusses the conceptual framework of Islamic governance for theoretical guidelines. Then, it discusses the execution strategies adopted by the AK PARTI government. The study identified that the AK PARTI government followed mainly six strategies in Islamising Turkish governance: (1) developing public institutions; (2) developing Islamic educational institutions; (3) curriculum reforms; (4) major financing; (5) empowering Islamic bureaucracy, and (6) managing Islamic Da‘wa. These six strategies are largely implemented through two channels: the Directorate of Religious Affairs and the Imam Hatip Schools. The Imam Hatip High School, a vocational high school with a modern and Islamic curriculum established to prepare preachers and Imams, is operated by the Ministry of National Education. The AK PARTI administration gave importance to these schools to produce a religion-oriented generation. This has gained international attention as an alternative model for Madrasas in Muslim nations. However, this study concludes that Türkiye has a long way to go before achieving genuine Islamisation in society. The AK PARTI government should decentralize da‘wa by focusing local enterprises on disseminating authentic Islamic messages and expanding the participation of numerous state institutions in the Islamisation process. This is a qualitative study depending on primary and secondary sources. Primary sources include government reports and documents, websites of the pertinent government institutions and ministries, and national and international dailies. The secondary sources include referred books, journal articles, and scholarly research. The analysis focuses on the period 2010-2020 because it was from 2010 that the AK PARTI government mainly initiated Islamisation projects to generate an Islamic society based on Islamic values.","PeriodicalId":38540,"journal":{"name":"Hamdard Islamicus","volume":"66 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76681888","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It applies descriptive and analytical methods to examine the contributions of Izetbegović in the socio-historical context, with particular reference to the Young Muslims movement. It studies the tribulations he endured due to persecution by the Communist Yugoslav authorities. Izetbegović's thought is a response to a twofold equally negative influence on Muslim intellectuals and leaders of the time – the traditionalists whose emphasis on rituals obstructed the reform and the modernists who blindly followed what Izetbegović considered un-Islamic sources. As a solution, Izetbegović advocated attaining personal freedom through education and establishing closer ties among Muslim countries from Indonesia to Morocco.","PeriodicalId":38540,"journal":{"name":"Hamdard Islamicus","volume":"61 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85388045","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this regard, halal warehousing plays a vital role in the company’s halal certification process. Therefore, this research aimed to identify motivating factors for the organizations to implement halal warehousing in Pakistan's food manufacturing and supply industry. The data for this study is gathered from the supply chain professionals working in the Pakistani food industries—a total of 142 valid responses received through a structured questionnaire. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) is used to analyze the data. This study reveals that all the variables of Technology, Organization, and Environment (TOE) have a significant impact on halal warehousing. In the organizational context, top management support plays an essential role in halal warehousing implementation. The findings of the study may assist halal food manufacturing and raw material providers to implement halal warehousing in their businesses. Furthermore, governmental support for the implementation of halal warehousing is vital.","PeriodicalId":38540,"journal":{"name":"Hamdard Islamicus","volume":"32 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76588896","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The contemporary developments in the Maqasid al-Shariah, a popular goal theory of Islam, remains largely unchanged from the theoretical point of view, which was developed by the traditional Muslim scholars. Although the implementation of Maqasid al-Shariah has significantly grown, its theoretical development remains limited. Some current Maqasid thinkers, however, are prompted to make efforts to broaden this goal notion. They have entitled this new endeavor as ‘Maqasid al-Quran’ instead of Maqasid al-Shariah to imply a more expansive interpretation of Maqasid. They argue that the journey of Maqasid al-Shariah should continue until it achieves a larger paradigm which might give it a wider methodological ability to function outside of the Maqasid al-Shariah framework. The researcher has used library data in the form of text from the pertinent books and scholarly articles to analyze new theoretical prospects of Maqasid. This study discovers that, in contrast to Maqasid al-Shariah which primarily focuses on the normative aspect of Islam, Maqasid al-Quran has the potential to be a broad Islamic goal theory since it expresses the goals of the entire Islamic discourse irrespective of normative aspect. It was defined more broadly than Maqasid al-Shariah by traditional and modern Maqasid scholars. Moreover, its methodological scope is deemed broader than that of Maqasid al- Shariah.","PeriodicalId":38540,"journal":{"name":"Hamdard Islamicus","volume":"75 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90989223","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, that requires an individual to be more ethical, committed, and self-contented towards his/her expected goal. Hence, this study aims to explore the influence of Islamic work ethics (IWE) on academics’ career success (ACS), besides the role of psychological capital (PsyCap) as mediation between IWE and ACS. The study follows a deductive methodological approach, while the Structural Equation Modelling technique (SEM) applied for analyzing the model. The data was collected from full-time academic staff in public universities in Sudan. After analyzing 236 questionnaires, the findings indicated that IWE is positively related to the ACS. Furthermore, PsyCap was a significant mediator between IWE and ACS. Accordingly, these results were contributed to the theory of conservation of resource (COR) by identifying the role of IWE as one of the peace resources that help academic staff in generating additional resources to achieve their career goals. Lastly, the practical implications and new streams for further studies are discussed.","PeriodicalId":38540,"journal":{"name":"Hamdard Islamicus","volume":"17 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89549214","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
