Four educators participated in this case study-based research project. The study established different means in which smart boards have become central in the teaching and learning processes within the township schools. It was found that educators used the smart boards for writing, downloading and uploading multiple tasks. It was further established that smart boards were making teaching interesting. In this regard, smart boards were found to equally make teaching easier in many ways. The smart board use was however found to face challenges such as resistance especially from senior educators, technical challenges such as freezing and the challenge of load shedding. The research however concluded that despite the challenges, smart boards remained an important source of ensuring transformative and pedagogical oriented teaching and learning as well as enhanced teaching and learning in poor settings such as townships. Equally, a holistic approach that targeted key aspects of schooling such as technology and educators was used to understand how new technologies such as smart boards especially for township contexts could be drawn upon in enhancing teaching and learning. A qualitative research methodology was used in which in-depth interviews as well as observations were used for data collection. The social constructivist approach was used in the discussion of the findings. This approach aided in exploring the educator practices and opinions regarding their use of smart board technologies in various subjects.","PeriodicalId":38257,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Interdisciplinary Educational Studies","volume":"2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85286260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, little is known about digital leadership, communication, and decision-making styles. Some variables have been explored by scholars. This study was inspired by the need to investigate the job performance of public primary school teachers in Oyo State. Among other things, Vroom's Expectancy Theory was used in this study. The respondents were chosen using a multi-stage sample procedure with a basic random sampling technique. The survey drew a total of 643 participants from the three senatorial districts. The structured Teachers' Questionnaire (TQ) was validated, and the reliability of the tool was assessed using Cronbach's Alpha. Frequency counts, percentages, bar graphs, standardised coefficients and linear multiple regression (ANOVA, also known as analysis of variance), were used to analyze the data. It is used to calculate the difference between the means of three or more independent variables on a dependent variable. The findings of the test of hypotheses show that public primary school teachers' job performance in Oyo State is influenced by a combination of digital leadership, communication, and decision-making styles (F (3,640) = 3156.318; P 0.05). This study also discovered that the state's public primary school teachers' job performance is positively influenced by digital leadership, communication, and decision-making styles. It is advised that the government review the laws, policies, and rules that control the teaching profession and enhance educational technology, especially in public primary schools.","PeriodicalId":38257,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Interdisciplinary Educational Studies","volume":"47 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87403180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Descriptive survey research design was employed and both probability and non-probability sampling techniques were used to select two-hundred (200) respondents. Validated quantitative instruments tagged ‘Work-Related Flow Questionnaire’ (WRFQ), ‘Leadership Styles Questionnaire’ (LSQ) and ‘Teachers’ Productivity Questionnaire’ (TPQ) with reasonable reliability coefficient were used to obtain information from the participants. Regression analysis was used to achieve all the three objectives as well as research questions. Empirical outcomes revealed that principal leadership styles-transformational, laissez-faire and transactional leadership styles had negative, and positive influence on teachers’ productivity with t (273) = (-.480; -2.710 & 0.633) respectively. Moreover, teachers’ work-related flow had positive and significant effect on teachers’ productivity as t (273) = 3.18 and p = .002 < 0.05. And that 55.8% variation that took place in teachers’ productivity was as a result of combine influence of teachers’ work-related flow experience and principal leadership styles. The study concluded that principal leadership styles and teachers’ work-related flow experience have a long way to go in determining teachers’ effectiveness in academic and non-academic oriented exercises. Recommendations consisted of principal’s application of varieties of leadership styles base on the prevailing circumstances of the school activities and frequent organisation of leadership training for potential and existing head of schools among others were suggested for the concerned stakeholders of education within the studied areas and beyond.","PeriodicalId":38257,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Interdisciplinary Educational Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75733475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Being the workshop of a teacher where teaching and learning take place, the management of a classroom needs to be accorded priority attention. It is believed that if classroom management is given attention, so will effective teaching be achieved. In this paper, the issue of effective classroom management is examined, with a focus on the elements, such as the effective use of chalkboard, communication, use of teaching aids/instructional materials, evaluation of lesson, and management of behavioural challenges, such as noise-making, sleeping, fighting, reading, writing, eating, hissing, foot-dragging, just to mention a few; as well as the management of classroom environment, are examined. The paper recommends how to achieve effective classroom management and ultimately, effective teaching in a classroom setting, such as effective use of chalkboard, communication, use of instructional materials, evaluation of lesson, and management of behavioural challenges.","PeriodicalId":38257,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Interdisciplinary Educational Studies","volume":"48 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73595297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
