One of the roles of mangroves is to protect the shoreline and prevent seawater intrusion. Molluscs are one of the mangrove association biota whose lives are influenced by the presence of mangrove forests. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of molluscs and the relationship between mangrove density and limiting molluscs to the coastal mangrove area of Gerupuk Beach, Central Lombok. Sampling of molluscs used the quadrate sampling method with purposive sampling by taking into account the mangrove species found in the observation plots. The data obtained were then analyzed with the charisma index, associations, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The results of this study obtained 13 species of Molluscs consisting of 12 species of the Gastropod family and 1 species of the Bivalvia family. The Brachyura diversity index at the research station was moderate with a value between 1.48–1.88. Furthermore, there were 8 species of Molluscs associated with 4 species of mangrove from 13 species of Molluscs found. The linear regression equation y = 0.1429x + 0.0007 with a Pearson correlation coefficient (r) of 0.57 indicates a strong relationship between the independent variable (x) mangrove density and the dependent variable (y) exposure to molluscs. The conclusion of this study is that the diversity of molluscs in the mangrove area of Gerupuk Beach is included in the moderate category and there is a significant relationship between mangrove density and mollusk attractions.","PeriodicalId":382423,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Biologi Tropis","volume":"105 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124746105","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The application of inorganic fertilizers without adding organic fertilizers potentially reduces soil fertility and damages soil structure. This study aimed to determine the effect of burned rice husks, NPK fertilizer application, on the growth of Chinensis bok choy (Brassica rapa L. Subsp. Chinensis). The study employed a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, with 5 treatment levels. The burned rice husks treatments comprised (0 gr, 90 gr, 110 gr, 130 gr, and 150 gr), while the NPK fertilizer treatments comprised (0 gr, 0.4 gr, 0.6 gr, 0.8 gr, 1.0 gr / 100 ml water). Data were analyzed using an ANOVA test. The results showed that the NPK fertilizer factor significantly influenced all parameters, including plant height, leaf number, wet weight, and dry weight. The burned rice husks factor and the interaction between burned rice husks and NPK fertilizer had no significant effect on all parameters, namely plant height, leaf number, wet weight, and dry weight of the Chinensis bok choy. The optimal treatment for the interaction of burned rice husks and NPK fertilizer \"Mutiara 16\" was with the N4S4 treatment (combination of NPK Mutiara 1.0 gr/100 ml water and burned rice husks 150 gr) for plant height, leaf number, wet weight, and dry weight parameters, while the optimal treatment for chlorophyll concentration content was with the N3S2 treatment (combination of NPK Mutiara 0.8 gr/100 ml water and burned rice husks 110 gr).","PeriodicalId":382423,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Biologi Tropis","volume":"435 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115857037","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Honey bees flying activities are carried out in the context of nest guarding activities from enemy attacks, removing feces from the nest, and foraging which takes place during the day to collect pollen and nectar from plants. This study aims to analyze the daily activity patterns of bees A. cerana which is influenced by environmental factors. This study used two colonies of A. cerana, namely colony one and colony two with the same colony size. The observed behaviors were bees leaving the nest, entering with pollen, and entering without pollen. The number of A. cerana colony one flying for pollen was high in the morning and low in the afternoon due to the very high light intensity during the day. Unlike colony one, A. cerana colony two did not actively perform flight activities and showed a different activity of flying in front of the nest forming a crowd in the afternoon. An inflorescence calendar needs to be developed to determine the flowering period of plants around the hive so that bee forage is continuously available to avoid absconding. absconding. Identification of plant pollen as a source of bee food needs to be done to determine the types of plants utilized by bees.","PeriodicalId":382423,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Biologi Tropis","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130167264","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The community's need for radish continues to increase as indicated by an increase in the amount of production. In 2018 radish production was recorded at 32,381 tons, in 2019 production decreased to 27,279 tons, while in 2020 production increased again to 39,048 tons. The solution in increasing radish production is by fertilizing using organic and inorganic fertilizers. The aim is to determine the interaction between SP-36 and bokasih on radish crop yields. The plan utilized was a randomized block plan (RBD) in a factorial example with two variables. The outcomes acquired: The treatment of bokashi and SP36 composts meaningfully affected plant level, number of leaves, tuber length, tuber distance across and tuber weight of radish plants. The connection between the utilization of Bokashi and SP36 composts gave the best outcomes on the normal plant level, number of leaves, tuber measurement and tuber weight of radish plants.","PeriodicalId":382423,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Biologi Tropis","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127568596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
