The paper addresses the specific problems that exist in the current ways of managing CSR activities by comparing the current model to the proposed blockchain-based framework. However, relatively little research has been conducted on collaboration in e-governance context. Experiences from limited success of e-governance initiatives in India as well as in various other developing countries reflect upon lack of strategic collaboration within and across government organisations. The finding of the study indicates that e-governance users want their concerns to be addressed, while e-governance project implementers struggle with the inter- and intra-organisational collaborations. The National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), 2006 and its subsequent version, i.e., NeGP 2.0 termed as 'e-kranti' component of the Digital India programme of Government of India, has specifically emphasized upon collaboration to effectively unleash e-governance potential. Citizens face costs in the correction of an error and in the material and immaterial consequences of an error, such as loss of access to benefits or services. This problem is especially relevant given the characteristics of information technology in the public sector, which is increasingly used to share data among multiple organisations through master data management systems. Chandigarh Administration has taken steps to improve quality of life of citizens by designing and delivering services through various e-governance initiatives over the last decade. These initiatives are expected to result in easier access to public services, transparency, cost effectiveness and other features of good governance. Net result of e-governance should be achieving the goals of good governance. This paper specifically addresses the e-governance initiatives taken by Chandigarh Administration over the last decade and half. Almeida","doi":"10.1504/ijeg.2020.10034119","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1504/ijeg.2020.10034119","url":null,"abstract":"The rise of social media has led to the adoption of technology platforms for interaction between governments and citizens, mainly aimed at meeting the global demand for greater openness of public management in search of social participation. However, few research studies deal with the concrete results obtained by using these platforms. This paper aims to verify if the adoption of these platforms generates value innovations, with some disruption in the current form of interaction between governments and citizens, leading them to navigate in the Blue Ocean of participation, collaboration, and reduction of costs. We conclude that the main values - legitimacy of public policies, notion of transparency of public management, and support for decision making - are generated profits for governmental institutions that use the platforms.
