In this paper, we proposed an FPGA and ARM processor based supercomputer system composed of five Zynq SoCs compute-nodes. The design system uses message passing interface libraries for communication between compute-nodes while AXI4-stream interfaces between ARM processor and FPGA inside a compute-node. An FIR filter application is used to test the performance of the system with and without FPGA accelerators. The results show that the performance of ARM based supercomputer with FPGA accelerators is 8.56 times higher than similar system without FPGA accelerators.","PeriodicalId":381362,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Computing, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies (iCoMET)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114000327","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To make better understanding of recognizing protein work it is necessary to create high throughput strategies for distinguishing PPI. Protein protein interaction is used for different cells also it defines the 3D structure of proteins. It facilitates different cell capacities resulting from 3D structure of cell that is three dimensional structures of protein protein complexes interactions and it binds affinity information together. The purpose of PPIs is to make interactions between bacterial, viral, and parasitic pathogens of human host's harbors which have great medicinal making potential in order to reduce the causes of dieses that occur due to the PPIs in humans. PPIs are used to discover target specific disease with related interfaces that underlines human interaction network. The structure of ligand binding proteins has to face several challenges including protein sampling of the huge possible orientations for ligand, the protein pocket, sequence space of large data and estimating the binding free energies accurately during the design process. Computational methods are used for successful ligand binding protein design their pros and cons and the potential future directions of the field are discussed. In this paper we have analyzed different methods and techniques of PPIs identification, management, interactions and bindings also to gather different analysis and results based on big databases. In future, we will use Spark's distributed machine Learning library for PPIs prediction, data modeling and machine learning.","PeriodicalId":381362,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Computing, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies (iCoMET)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128019548","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The approach is based on pixel level study employing various features such as correlation, homogeneity, energy and contrast. In this study gray-scale images are used for training the classification model. For supervised classification, two classification techniques are employed namely the Support Vector Machine (SVM) and the Naïve Bayes. With textural features used for gray-scale images, Naïve Bayes performs better with an overall accuracy of 76% compared to 68% achieved by SVM. The computational time is evaluated while performing the experiment with two different window sizes i.e., 50 × 50 and 70 × 70. The required computational time on a single image is found to be 27 seconds for a window size of 70 × 70 and 45 seconds for a window size of 50 × 50.","PeriodicalId":381362,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Computing, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies (iCoMET)","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128609102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Vehicles localization in vehicular adhoc networks (VANETs) in urban scenarios is a key issue for public safety applications. Motivated by localization of vehicles in urban areas for public safety, where the de facto standard solution global positioning system (GPS) does not provide the required localization accuracy, a local closed form solution is proposed for VANETs localization exploiting the communication with road side units (RSUs). In proposed technique the vehicle receives signals from the RSUs within its range, and computes the average receive signal strength (RSS) from each RSU. The average RSS measurements are fed to the proposed closed form localization algorithm which computes the the vehicle position. The proposed algorithm only take the RSS measurements from the closer RSUs with higher signal to noise ratio, which results in better location estimation. The performance of the proposed closed form solution is analyzed by deriving its Cramer Rao lower bound. Numerous simulations are performed to show that the proposed RSS based closed form solution outperforms the least square and weighted least square techniques.","PeriodicalId":381362,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Computing, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies (iCoMET)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115799273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These smart devices have penetrated the human societies across the globe they have become an integral part of today's modern-day routine activities. Besides all the inherent benefits these mobile devices suffer from scarce storage capacity, limited processing capability and small battery life. Keeping in these limitations, a total of ten different readily available smart-phones have been considered for measurement of power consumption in each component of the smart-phone. The power consumption of the selected smart-phones has been compared to understand the fact that how different components contribute in overall power consumption. This research work not only assists the users in selection of smart-phones but also guides the researchers to develop techniques that help in reducing energy consumption in smart-phones.","PeriodicalId":381362,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Computing, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies (iCoMET)","volume":"351 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116672704","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most prominent causes of cancer are environmental issues, life style and genetic heritage. Malignant Mesothelioma (MM) is one of the fastest growing neoplasm tumour in human body, that originates due to mesothelium cells in various parts of the human body, and directly affects the pleura. The main causes of MM are asbestos exposure, exposure to the high doses of radiation to the chest or abdomen, genetics disposition and the infection of simian virus 40. In this paper MM tumour classification is performed using Support Vector Machine (SVM). Tumour is classified as either malignant or benign. SVM is trained on features extracted in the form of symptoms of MM cancer. The proposed method is compared with Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN) classification method and Multi-layered neural networks (MLNN) and shows better results than both PNN and MLNN.","PeriodicalId":381362,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Computing, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies (iCoMET)","volume":"369 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114502840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we comparatively evaluated the performance of three meta-heuristic algorithms for our proposed Home Energy Management system (HEMS) i.e., Enhanced Differential Evolution (EDE), Harmony Search Algorithm (HSA), and Tabu Search (TS). The HEMS presented in this paper is based on Demand Side Management (DSM) and involvement of electricity consumers of a residential area domain to consider major factor of user satisfaction. In order to tackle the pricing for electricity bill calculation, a combined model of time of use (ToU) and critical peak pricing (CPP) is used. To deal with the scheduling of appliances a defined classification of appliances is taken from a part of literature. Simulation results verified that proposed techniques performed competently in achieving the above mentioned objectives.","PeriodicalId":381362,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Computing, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies (iCoMET)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125768125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
