The Internet of Radio-Light (IoRL) project develops a safer, more secure, customizable and intelligent building network that reliably delivers increased throughput (greater than lOGbps) from access points pervasively located within buildings, whilst minimizing interference and harmful EM exposure and providing location accuracy of less than 10 cm. This paper identified an opportunity to investigate efficient decision-making ways that will make use of data generated by IoT-enabled objects, taking into account the multi-objective goals in a smart city through addressing data loss challenge. Having the list of decision-making algorithms is one thing but choosing which algorithm to use requires intelligence. There is a need for decision-making algorithms that will be sufficiently dynamic to address different levels of data loss inherent in IoT data collection. Environmental issues are also an important part of people's quality of life and the advance of civilization. Traditional methods of monitoring some environmental parameters such as physically collecting rainfall data from stations can be burdensome and inhibiting the monitoring required for careful assessment. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) offer high quality monitoring at a very low unit cost in terms of capital and labor invested. This paper describes a WSN-enabled architecture for a tipping bucket rain gauge system to collect and transmit real time data using General Pocket Radio Service (GPRS) via a cellular network. The antenna design has a defected ground. Rectangular slots are created on top patch and also on the defected ground surface. The antenna is designed and simulated on different substrates. Simulations are also performed by placing the antennas on phantom model. The antenna designed on FR4 substrate is fabricated. The return loss of the fabricated antenna is measured and found to be similar to the simulated return loss. Cloudlets are the edges of the SG cellular network and are capable of providing edge computing solutions to their connected devices. The proposed system monitors the vehicles that are driving in front of an ego car and notifies the driver upon detecting any hazardous condition caused by the other vehicles movements. A smartphone, mounted on the ego car, captures and sends the required information to a cloudlet for further processing. The cloudlet then notifies the smartphone upon detecting any hazardous conditions. The numerical results show that the antenna processes the bi-directional with the directivity of around 6 dBi at the frequency of 2.4 GHz. The proposed estimator is based on the modified version of adaptive recursive least square algorithm. A new variable forgetting factor procedure is developed for the RLS algorithm by differentiating a cost function upon which a noise variance weighting factor has been applied. The developed channel estimator is named weighted gradient variable forgetting factor RLS (WGVFF-RLS)-based channel estimator. Comparative performances of the proposed WGVFF-RLS-based channel estimator and some earlier proposed channel estimators: the least mean square (LMS)-based channel estimator, the VFFRLS-based estimator and the combined channel transfer function (CTF)-estimator and CIR predictor are obtained through computer simulations. The achievable performances of these estimators are documented in the context of the channel that is experiencing both slow and fast fading phenomenon for MC-IDMA system. On the other hand, it is a worthy issue because of its versatile applications e.g. monitoring dietary consumption of aging people and patients or finding defects in food processing line. In this paper, we propose a new pipeline to recognize a set of Thai food images based on transfer learning technique of convolution neural network. Learning steps and image distortions were two primary experimented parameters.
